7-Eleven

Its a 7 – 11, you know what to expect.
This location happens to be a good one for me so I’m here perhaps once in the 6 weeks. Nice employees. Easy layout. Easy parking.

I had all the optimism of Darrin B. when this 7-​Eleven first took over Wilson farms. However, all of the pluses of this store – great hours, good selection, etc. – are all basically moot considering I’ve never visited the store without growing an actual beard while waiting in an unruly 10 person line.
Easy solution, management: ANOTHER GUY! Another guy to handle bottle returns or run the food counter while another guy rings people up. Inexplicably, I’ve never seen more than 1 person behind the counter in this constantly busy store. If you want a 7-​Eleven hot dog – one of life’s small joys – just forget about it. Asking for a hot dog at this location is like asking the attendant to change a tire; it’s a long complicated process (all seen with contempt by the other bitter customers) due to this cruel lack of employees.
There’s also some weird priority for bottle returns, of which I cannot make sense. I’ll approach the counter with a coffee (which they charge a premium for) only to be disregarded for a customer with a huge bag of cans, which the attendant must count by hand; so the attendant will basically hold up a line of customers buying what is the store’s main source of revenue (concessions) in order to make 7 cents from bottle returns. At least at Wilson Farm’s this process automated.
In sum, I’m glad I’ve moved further north on Elmwood, where there is a certain 24 hour convenience store that is excellent. It’s great and I hear that they literally never close!

Recently switched over from a Wilson Farms location, this 7-​Eleven has had one of the most dramatic improvements that I’ve ever seen.
Big pluses:
(1) now open 24-​hours.
(2) well stocked (something that the Wilson Farms lacked).
(3) fountain beverages (something that I think killed my experiences with most Wilson Farms).
(4) FRIENDLY cashiers.
(5) a short walk for me to get to.
(6) easy in, easy out. (a huge plus when you’re on the go!)
