I came here with my cousin and my father when Slow Roll Buffalo was starting one of their rides at this location. After the ride we got to have a little Polish food from Betty Crockski, and go inside of the bar and relax with a little bit of Polka in the back. My dad told me that he goes here every year for Dyngus Day celebrations, and I can only imagine how busy it gets in that place around then! We only had around 350 or so people during the ride that day, and the bar itself was small and pretty packed as it was, but there was tons of space in the back where the two musicians were playing. At the time I wasn’t actually able to drink so I didn’t have any alcohol, but my cousin did get a Polish beer, and she said it was pretty good! I appreciate the building’s historic value, and how places like this can be given new life through business like that.

Definitely the highlight of Buffalo, completely unaware of this hidden gem! It’s unique selection of brews, and the moment we walked in we felt like guest! The night included a tour of the library, and by the end of the evening we were embraced by Bob, Jerry, and Mr. Rej! Great conversations and laughter, learned so much about Polish history and really appreciated the kind gestures, amazing taste testing experience, and great company! Looking forward to coming back! Salud!

Hidden gem in Buffalo’s East Side? Sure is. A diverse crew of characters. The little nuances stand out more than any other bar – the wallpaper, vodka choices, polish beer decorations, the polish falcon – and I didn’t even experience the upstairs library because of a private wedding. A good variety of eastern european beers. To me, most taste like your typical american lager or ale. They are bright, crisp beers. A lot of eastern european liquor, mostly vodka. I like vodka, and they serve it to you straight. Soda water? What’s that? On this night random members entered behind the bar to serve – and striking up a conversation with them was easy. In fact, we chatted with them all night. Very small bar area. But I wonder if it needs to be any bigger. I’ll be sneaking over to this place a little more frequently now that I know about it.

Stopped in here on Friday for the Brewed in Buffalo Release Party. This place is pretty sweet. A cross between an old Polish dive bar and a library, it was pretty cool to hang out at this cultural gem while partaking in some fine locally made brews. Especially since they were on $ 4 each. I did notice that they had a nice bottle selection of eastern European beers.

This place has a huge selection of Eastern Europeian beers, Polish Russian, Ukraine, and a few others. They also have a lot of diffrent Polish liquors. There is a large, classic, pool table that free to play. There’s also a theater in the back, but nothing was going on when I was there. The thing I like best about this palce is the library up stairs, it’s the only place I know where you can drink a beer and read a book.

one: nice space for cultural events and performances two: impressive selection of [mostly polish] beer at the bar three: great prices on said beer four: cool social club atmosphere with a good mix of regulars and hipsters minus: not a lot of space in the bar area, and even though there were a bunch of gaming tables in another room, they seemed off-limits — i’d have given an extra star if i could have played some games
