You guys will be sorely missed. Loved the atmosphere and location. And the«Beef on Weck» dog was sensational. Hoping you decide to relocate and give it another go. Thanks for the memories.

I’m giving the smoked pork sausage 5 stars, that was a wicked awesome taste combination they’ve got going on there. It took a little while for it to come out, but if you’re having a beer(& they have a good selection of beer to choose from as well) what does it matter. This was a great find & I’m coming back with friends:-)

Love the interior, bar options, and hot dogs were delicious. Also they were playing classic rock from the 60s and 70s. Dig it. Very affordable. Tons of seating. I had an all beef dog with a chocolate stout beer. Perfection.

The bahn mi hot dog is BEYOND incredible! The chili dog was underwhelming but really it was so great with enough food for whomever goes. I keep an eye on Termini’s antics otherwise. Great fries.

On a random Friday after work we wanted a drink and a quick meal. We’d walked to a few other places in the area but due to a baseball game and great weather every other place was packed solid… so we decided to check out Dog e Style. So, here are my thoughts and impressions… The place is made from what appears to be bright blue Hanjin shipping containers… it gives the place a whimsical yet industrial feel especially with the glass garage style doors that open so that you can enjoy the weather. Tables are stainless steel and the stairs are a very modern slightly open style. Who ever designed this place did a great job… except, there is no area to truly wait for to-go orders as it is very narrow near the pick up window. In addition, it’s difficult to see the really cool chalk menu above the counter because there is an air duct in the way… but you wouldn’t even see that sign as you try to order because the register is before you get to that sign. So I actually didn’t see it until after I’d ordered. Luckily there is another regular sign near the register. I’m a Chicago native and a slight ‘foodie’, so of course I ordered the Chicago Dog! For a side I ordered onion rings and a lemonade. My spouse ordered the chili cheese dog with the fries and a beer… yes, a beer. They have a bar inside, smart move Dog e Style, smart move. FOOD: 3.5÷5 — The hot dog was good, nice and charred, not a Vienna beef dog but a good sized hot dog. The appropriate items for Chicago style were included and fresh. I didn’t like the fries or the onion rings but that’s no hardship. SERVICE: 3⁄5 — The bartender was busy flirting when we went to the bar and had to be called over by the cashier as we were standing waiting for service. DECOR: 4⁄5 — Although a hot dog stand, you can absolutely see the forethought placed into materials and the feel of the space. Absolutely a cute space to have a dog and we’ll be back.

Stopped in for a quick bite tonight with a friend. I ordered the Cali Turkey dog which was on the specials board. All of the ingredients were fresh and the dog was incredibly delicious! We each ordered a side of fries but probably only needed one to share. Friendly, quick service. Good food. Can’t wait to go back and try more dogs!

The first thing that will grab your attention about this restaurant is its unusual design. Built from — or at least to look like — royal blue shipping containers, it stands in sharp contrast to the beautiful 1860s stone buildings that flank it. On two stories, giant garage doors open the front of the building to create open air patio and balcony seating overlooking the city street. Inside, the first space you enter is a small bar area, with full-service cocktails at happy hour specials. At the rear of the first floor you can place your order at the counter. There’s a pretty hand-drawn chalk menu over the counter/grill area — but on your first trip I’d recommend meandering back to the bar to check out the far more legible menu on the wall there. What you will find listed are hot dogs paired with a stunning array of toppings that range from traditional(mustard, onions, etc.) to unexpected(foie gras, feta cheese, truffle aioli, etc.). My husband tried the Nola – a hot dog with a slab of grilled ham, provolone, olive salad, and fried oysters on top. I went for the No Dog – a cartelized grilled carrot with veggie black-bean chili, spicy aioli, and a drizzle of queso. We both liked our meals and found the portions substantial – like, almost impossible to finish. Of course, the delicious double-fried French fries could be partly to blame for that(really, really tasty with vinegar). On this and one previous visit, we had minor hiccups with the service – but nothing tragic. We’ll likely be back for quick downtown meals!

Honestly this has quickly become one of my favorite places to go for downtown eating. The first time I came here was a Tuesday, when Larkin was far to busy to want to deal with the lines, so we came here instead. So glad we tried it! The bartender, Leah, makes the best Moscow mules, and she is so sweet and very friendly! Ok onto the food. Vegetarians rejoice! There are two amazing options and I recommend both. On my first visit, I ordered the no dog, which has caramelized carrots and is smothered in vegetarian chili. It is delicious! If you are in the mood for a hot dog, go with this. The second time I ate here, I ordered the portabella sandwich which is equally amazing! The truffled mayo really adds an amazing earthy element to the already tasty sandwich. Not to mention the prices are not bad to say that least! The no dog is $ 5 and an order of fries or onion rings were only $ 3. The portabella sandwich is $ 8, probably a little more due to the truffle oil. Still very doable! Let’s talk about the fries and onion rings. Holy cow they give you a lot! You can have a meal off of just one order of those. The onion rings are some of the best I’ve ever had — no lie. Please order them, do yourself a favor! Bottom line: great service, great prices, great food. If you’re downtown, give it a try!

Well, hmmmm… OK, Dog e Style has me perplexed. It is such a strange place, that I kind of love it. I visited on a nice warm breezy day, doors were open and I did not notice any strange smell(as was noted in others reviews). Walking in, you are at the small bar portion of the restaurant. Cute. Across from the bar is a blackboard which lists all of the unique hot dog options that are available. Walk past the bar to where you order right at the kitchen/grill. I ordered the beef on weck dog and fries. Service was friendly, though quite slow so headed back to the bar while waiting. There was live music just outside and the breeze coming through the somewhat large open door was nice. There was a good handful or more of craft beer options available, but it was the Sam Adams summer ale that was calling me. Not too long after getting my beer, the food was ready(they call your name for pick up). Took the food UPSTAIRS to the dining area. I thought this was neat, no idea what to expect when climbing the full flight of stairs, tray in hand. This could annoy some people I am sure, but you could always sit at the bar or counter downstairs. Upstairs is a somewhat spacious, industrial cafeteria style dining area with a seating both inside and outside. I like the décor-very casual, almost beach town type of feel, with large garage door windows which open to the outdoor eating area. Really enjoyed the casual, open feel of the restaurant as a whole. Now, the hot dog itself. It was… ok. As someone else mentioned, the bun was a bit lacking. Kind of dry, almost too much bread but it did have a good amount of kimmelweck. It just did not do anything for me. The hot dog could have been more charred for my taste for sure(next time I will request it .) I think my biggest disappointment was the horseradish mayo. Arby’s horsey sauce has more of a punch. I enjoyed the french fries, they are not stingy with them in the least. Overall I enjoyed the casual atmosphere, and service was friendly. I would like to go back and try something different, though if they could improve both the flavor of the kimmelweck bun as well as the horseradish mayo, I would definitely give the beef on weck another go!

I missed going to this place during my friend Jamal’s birthday a couple months back. Boy do I regret that! If you think it’s just a hot dog place, these are not your regular grilled hotdogs. We got the Banh Mi Dog: Saigon Style, Pickled Veg, Mayo, Chilis, Cilantro and Portobella Sandwich Grilled with a Fried Egg & Smoked Cheese. Look, I’m from the South East Asia area where we grew up on Banh Mi so I have been rolling my eyes over the Banh Mi fusion everything. I kid you not though, this Banh Mi dog was amazing, we wanted to order more to go. It has a pork sausage that that is so tasty with pickled veggies. If you have not gone here, go and get the Banh Mi Dog. We also had the Greek and Nola which were good, but the Banh Mi is out of this world. The Portbella Sandwhich is okay for a vegetarian option.

Seven months later I came back to this place. Don’t know why it took me so long but I’m sort of glad it did. Let’s start by saying that this place is a money pit, and obviously a great idea for downtown Buffalo. With that said, they need a building at least twice the size. I went here for lunch today and my burger and fries took FORTYMINUTES. I ordered it medium, it came out as a hockey puck. I ordered it with mushrooms, no mushrooms came on it. My co-workers burger sat in the window for close to 15 minutes before it was packaged up. This is all happening while the owner, Rocco Termini is chatting with guests assumingly unaware of the awful customer service. Overcooked burger, missing toppings, stale roll, and extremely long wait times will deter me from coming back. Only positive note I can give them is that my $ 3 order of fries could of fed my entire office. With Ted’s coming to Chippewa soon, these people better get it together or else they will lose that battle surely. With the lunch rushes during the day, there is no possible way they can keep up with a kitchen that small.

The hot dog place to end all other hot dog places. Had a Chicago dog here on Fox’s recommendation, while my wife had the«no dog» veggie hot dog and I was a fan for sure. The Chicago dog came on a plain bun with poppyseeds(the bun could have been better) and a huge dog with onions, lots of very relish, tomatoes and pickles. Although there was a lot of stuff piled on, it was delicious and apparently one of the only places to get a proper Chi-dog out this way. The setup of the restaurant was a little strange. You order downstairs, there is a bar and an area upstairs for seating. I wasn’t a huge fan of the design and atmosphere, but it’s an interesting place and the hot dogs are worthwhile. Expect to spend $ 4 – 7 on their artisinal hot dogs, but I find at least the Chicago dog worth the $ 5. My wife was very happy with the veggie dog as well. One possible improvement they could make would be to source a better roll. Other than that, the employees were pretty friendly although we had to wait a round for a few minutes before someone came to the register when we first came here. I’ll be back as I’m curious to explore more of their pretty large menu.

The location was a little odd, as there’s not much around it. But overall, good food! I ordered a regular«big dog,» which is just a footlong, with some condiments on it. My friend ordered a Nola dog, and a footlong as well. The Nola dog comes with a hot dog(duh) topped with ham, provolone, olive salad, and fried oysters. He stated that he gives it an «8÷10, pretty good!» We didn’t try the fries or onion rings, so I will try one of those the next time I come. They certainly have a decent selection of specialized hot dogs for anyone that is interested! It’s a unique place to Buffalo, but I think it would be better suited on Allen or Elmwood.

It’s good, the concept is great, but I wouldn’t say it had me wowed. I’ve been to a couple unique dog bars like this in NYC that nail it. That said, I’ve been back to eat here more than once. I prefer dog town in rochester, ny.

Foie gras dog. I could not get my head around that. But I guess it’s a dog made of duck with foie gras inside and on top. I did not sample this. Would consider it if I went back. Tried the bahn mi dog, they’re second best seller behind the chili dog. I enjoyed it. I don’t eat tons of hot dogs, and when I do I like them charred on the grill or BBQ. This one was. Nicely so. I liked the vegetable components of the dogwitch too. I only ate half the bread, while I love bread sometimes less is more. Especially when the bread is fine but not outstanding in any way. Presumably to allow the hotdog and toppings to shine, but then you need less bread. This place has an odor that is just plain weird. Don’t know how the people working where can stand that. Bar seating is industrial style and not super comfortable. Mike A is part owner here, which surprised me almost as much as the stocked bar. I had a vision in my head of a hot dog stand of my summers at the beach. I was way off the mark, the dogs are pretty extensive and complicated. Won’t be your cheapest hotdog of the year, but if you choose right may just be the most interesting. 3 stars, it’s A-OK. I’d come back if someone wanted to. Street parking — hit or miss.

I first heard about this restaurant through their logo contest which kind of started their PR on a negative note not to mention the name Dog e Syle can be seen as a bit controversial. Regardless of what I thought, I came here to try out the new hotdog joint in town. The ambiance is very different from any restaurant and I enjoyed that there was plentiful seating for a order only self serve place. With that said it kind of felt like we were eating at a upscale hip cafeteria. Which i didn’t hate but want to throw out there in case you wanted wait service. The design itself of the restaurant was interesting. This restaurant was built using a old/recycled cargo containers as the base for the design. It feels very hip and trendy and really reminds me of some hip food joints in Toronto. I tried the Banh Mi dog(pork dog with pickles onions, carrots, jalapeños, and cilantro). I also ordered 2x fried french fries and a chocolate milkshake to share with my boyfriend. Everything I ordered was delicious and I would definitely eat here again. Perhaps there might be a Dog E Style truck in the future? Who knows? * Note the reason though I am giving this 3 stars is because of the logo contest. For a owner who appreciates design its pretty crappy that you post a logo contest and only reward $ 200 dollars for the winner. Shame on you.

The boyfriend and I decided to stop by for lunch today. I wanted to try something new. For the record, he does not like hot dogs… at all. But I managed to convince him to try. We arrived a little after 1 to find the place pretty much empty. I guess the weather deters people? Hot dogs aren’t exactly typical winter fare for Buffalo! Anyway, we walked right up the counter and ordered after perusing the menu for a minute. I had to try the Banh Mi Dog, and the boyfriend got the roasted pork sausage with caramelized onions. We split an order of the«double fried fries». I didn’t notice anything«double fried» about them. Perhaps I was expecting something crispier? They were typical fries, honestly. My dog, however, was pretty darn delicious. Not«WOW» but good enough to say I’d go back. Bf really liked his sausage dog but said the onions were almost TOO sweet. We both agreed that it was tasty and will be nice to come back to when the weather is warmer. There is very little seating downstairs, though. I don’t know if they would bring the food upstairs for you, but seeing that it was empty, we waited for our food by the register(making me wonder how many times people have tripped up the stairs with their food trays!) People complain about the prices, but for the specialty dogs, I didn’t see them as anything outrageous. We were both very full after our meals, so the price did itself justice. I could see it being expensive if you are just getting a plain dog(but why would you?) Anyway, we’ll be back!

Came here last night for dinner before a movie. Walking in at 5:30, we were the only customers there and there was only 1 worker. I’m not sure why but my entire visit I kept comparing Dog e Style to Ted’s. We ordered 3 hotdogs, a cheeseburger, fries, and a drink.(We were hungry! Plus, I didn’t think the dogs and burger would be so huge!) The total came out to nearly $ 30. I thought that was quite expensive. Turkey BLT Dog — Eh, it was okay. The turkey dog was interesting. I don’t think I would get it again. The bacon was deep fried and super unhealthy. Cheeseburger — HUGE! There was literally a chunk of cheese that was an inch thick! If I was smarter on Unilocal,I would upload the picture. But unfortunately, I’m not that smart. It was very good though. Brad got the Chi Town and Banh Mi dog. He said they were good. He really liked the Chi Town the best. French Fries — Eh, they are labeled as «Twice Fried» I’m not sure what that means(I only saw them go into the fryer once) they tasted like normal french fries. Overall, what I took away was it was an interesting experience and worth a visit. For the price, I probably wouldn’t go back, and if I did, just get the cheeseburger.

The name of this place is NOT actually a sex reference, and I know this because sex references are illegal in Buffalo along with other famously illegal things in Buffalo such as flip flops on boys, more than 8 days of sunshine, and Tom Brady. No, in fact, this place is named after the new«cyberpets» that everyone is getting. You can get a Dog«E Style» or a Cat E Style or even a Monk Seal E Style. I dont think they do a Crab E Style yet though because a lot of us here in Buffalo already have Crab E Style. We’re definitely not as stylish as NYC and LA, that’s for sure. Maybe crappy is a little harsh. What to get: Chicago dog. I tried Dog E Style with my very good friend Alex. No, not THAT Alex. Yes, that one. You really need to get better at figuring out which Alex I’m talking about. There’s the one with the thingy and the thingy and then there’s the one with the thingamajiggy. So anyways. We went here and the smell was a bit weird. It was made out of a cargo container so maybe that was why. Also the prices are super duper high. Some of the dogs are in the 6 – 9 dollar range. There are a lot of super fancy ones like pork belly this and lamb that. Alex had the Greek Lamb dog, I’m not sure that he liked it. I think he was underimpressed. The space is a bit weird too but it’s definitely original. It has bad memories for me because my car was once stolen right across the street from it. Outside Club Diablo. What’s that you said? What was I doing in Club Diablo? Er. Nothing? But for me personally this hot dog place rocked my world. Rocked. My. World. Why, you ask? Well because it has CHICAGODOGS. Yeah seriously I will drive all the way to Chicago for a good Chicago dog. There’s a couple in Cleveland, one is pretty good, one is awful. There’s one in Akron, OH — awful. Used to be a good one in Columbus, went out of business. An OK one remains in Columbus. And in Chicago my goodness the place is full of amazing Chicago Dogs. Obvious statement is obvious. Then there’s Nashville(pretty good), Davenport in Iowa(very good — what do you mean, where is Davenport? Get the hell off my bus if you don’t know where the f*** Davenport is you little scoundrel) and Denver(very good). What’s that you say? How do I know every damn Chicago Dog in the country? BECAUSE I LOVETHISSHIZNIT. In case anyone doesn’t know what a Chicago dog is. It’s a delicious hot dog on a poppyseed roll with onions, mustard, sport peppers, tomatoes, pickles, celery salt, and green relish. NO ketchup which is just sugar anyway and NO mayo. It’s so damn good, it’s like having a fresh salad in your pants and everyone’s invited. Hay una salada fresca en mis pantalones y sus invitados. It’s my faaaaaaaaaaave dog by a mile even more than the likes of Ted’s Polish or the likes of Zorba’s and so on. The only dog that compares is probably the bacon wrapped Mexican dogs sold on the street in Hell A and such. The reason the dog is a salad in your pants is because Chicago wanted a special food for the EXPO about 120 years ago, and they invited all the midwestern farmers to town and they brought all these awesome veggies and they thought, we will make our dog out of all these fresh veggies, and it has now become a legend and it’s freaking amazing. Problem is Buffalo never had one. Never have I ever had a good Chicago dog(or maybe even any) in B-Lo. Until now. It’s pretty authentic, in terms of all the ingredients and their freshness, although it’s bigger than I’d expect. The sausage itself is an exercise in enormity which I wasn’t expecting but it’s very tasty. All of the condiments they put on the Chi-Town make it what it is. It’s very special. I was so happy to get one all the way out here in lil ol B-lo. Awwwwwwwwwwesome. The other saving grace is the price. It’s 4.50 for this thing, which I think is a lot, but given how huge it is, and how much I love it, I am willing to say it’s just about acceptable. Now all these other hot dogs that are significantly more than that… I have a feeling that if I based my rating on any of those this place would get a 2 or 3. They just don’t look good to me and they are way overpriced. And A MILKSHAKEISSIXDOLLARS. I MEANSERIOUSLY. THISISN’T NEWYORKCITYPEOPLES. But if I stick to what I know and love and rate this place PURELY on the Chicago dog, with a just-about-acceptable price, excellent authentic taste, big enough to satisfy you(that’s what I said), and the fact that I have been dreaming of one of these in Buffalo all my life and now I finally have one. Then it can only be a 5. Tell you what though. Easy on the green relish there sport! Sport peppers! Yeah! Did you know that Snoop Dogg once actually made an adult movie called Snoop Dogg’s Dog E Style? Not even kidding. I wonder if the owners of this place know that.
