Ok so I need to first off say that I am not hating on the Lunch Box. The food is quite tasty and healthy. The staff is very friendly personable and trys hard to accomodate the lunch crowd. I thoroughly enjoy their hummus with homemade jalapeño bagel chips as well as their coleslaw and pasta salads :). It is the prices that bother me. Maybe I’m spoiled from working in the Elmwood area, but the selection of restaurants within the Tri-Main Building area are limited. Some of the pasta salads are $ 3.75 for a very small container at the Lunch Box. Its not just the pasta that has high prices, a decent sandwich with maybe 7 – 10 tortilla chips ranges between $ 7 – 10. Some sandwiches do not come with chips but cost $ 6 – 8 dollars. Here are the pasta salads and regular salads I have tried thus far: 1. Spicy Thai Pasta salad — good but could use a bit more kick. This is a mayo based salad. 2. Pearl Cous Cous with chili honey vinaigrette– MYNEWFAVORITE… the texture is good especially because the pasta does not just sit in the vinaigrette making it mushy and gross. Its delicious! Highly Recommend it! 3. Vinaigrette Coleslaw– made with apple cider vinegar! what a fresh change compared to most slaws which are mayo based. 4. Texas Caviar Quinoa(not sure if its the right name) but it is definitely quinoa and it is gross in my opinion. The Quinoa soaked up too much of the vinegar which made it mushy and weird texture wise. 5. Morrocan Cous Cous– Good and Flavorful… i tend to prefer the one at the Lexington Co-op though 6. Cobb Salad is delicious!!! It comes from Avocado, bacon, chicken, blue cheese crumbles and house made salad dressing. I like the dressing a lot but prefer their housemade balsamic dressing that comes with the garden salad. 7. Caesar Salad is not a traditional caesar salad but i guess if you like croutons, parmesan cheese and dressing its ok. I will update shortly with more reviews to come as my office is making a list of the good items!

Great food and friendly staff! I highly recommend stopping in during your lunch break. I did and I wasn’t disappointed. Their sandwiches are SO delicious. I ordered the Italian Grill on flatbread and loved it. All the ingredients were fresh and the red pesto on it was amazing.

The Parkside location closed. They do have a location in the Tri-Main building as well as a brand new spot at Tri-Co. I cannot write about the restaurant experience, but I can comment on the catering. Amy(owner and caterer) does an amazing job! I was at an event that she catered and was so impressed at each tray of food I came upon. All unique stuff and many were vegearian friendly.

Wow. A large café plus kiosk and café location in downtown? This is the retail arm of a yummy catering company and the owner has ties to Globe Market. The Tri Main location serves quick lunch food(sandwiches, soups, and salads) that is delicious, fast, and fresh and work clothes friendly. Yeah… I’m a klutz and have on a few occasions gotten more food on my clothes than in my belly. So it’s appreciated that the food here is delicious without the need to hide the fresh flavor of the ingredients behind heavy sauces or condiments. They buy local ingredients when possible and the bagels and donuts are made off site by a local baker. The cinnamon walnut and vegetable cream cheese spreads are fresh made at The Lunch Box. I heartily enjoyed the Smoked Gouda and Ham sandwich and will definitely be back to try the Chipotle Turkey Sandwich. I mean, c’mon, they use Chipotle Bacon Mayo in the sandwich… how did I not order both sandwiches and overindulge in whole grain goodness? The kiosk is located at the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus in the lobby of the Innovation Center at 640 Ellicott St. They are opening a new café at 465 Main St, downtown at the Lafayette Court Building. On a side note… ever wander into the Tri Main center? Um. I have. Today. By accident. Yes… in today’s modern age of electronics, smart phones, and information this would seem an unlikely feat. Haha! Well I managed to mistakenly wander in there because I didn’t use the aid of my smart phone and gps and threw caution to the wind. FAIL! At least I found this yummy find.
