After searching and reading reviews, I was sadly disappointed in our experience at Studio 93. First, I want to say that the salon is beautiful and all of the employees seem extremely nice and the whole atmosphere is friendly and professional. I also appreciated that they could fit us in the same day I called. It was the result that I was not happy with. My daughter wanted her tips done blue. After arriving and consulting with our stylist(who was just the sweetest girl ever and seemed very knowledgeable as she listened to what we wanted and explained how it could look better), she changed her mind and the decision was made to put in a few subtle dark blue, chunky streaks on the under side of her hair, so they would show through, but not be blazing blue streaks on top of her head. She was also going to get a little cut, nothing fancy. I did appreciate that they were very clear on the fact that they could not guarantee how long the blue would hold. We were there for three hours. After two hours, our stylist’s next client arrived and I was told she wouldn’t have time to do the cut. Ok, I guess. Not a huge deal, just a little annoying. The last hour was spent under the dryer, then getting shampooed and dried. In the end, I paid $ 130 for 5 tiny, thin streaks of blue and one huge and very bright streak, which, when compared to the look of the others, had to be a mistake. Overall, it did not resemble the picture we looked at in the beginning. My daughter is just happy to have her blue, but I can look at it and tell it isn’t quite right. I can only assume that the stylist was rushing, knowing she had another client coming in soon. I was then shocked at the price of the somewhat sloppy work. I have had all over color with highlights done for less. Ultimately, I DO intend to go back and give them another try because the place and people just seemed so great and I get the feeling this isn’t their usual quality of work. Do, however, remember to ask for the price up front!

I AMOUTRAGED. How DARE this place be so professional, so inspiring, so creative, and SO into their customers that they act like they actually LIKE coming to work! My terrible, horrible, no good, very bad experience is hard to nail on just one stylist — this place dares to push the limits of the word«team» and painfully did exactly what I was looking for and better than I assumed it would come out. I wanted to make my little locks a demin color. I am a professional gypsy, so finding a salon on the road is at the the very least, tedious. I had a tight plan to visit with my old stylist in Atlanta after she recently located. She canceled on me hours before I was supposed to be tressed. I called 3 salons and got«we’re booked», «you need a consultation», or a straight dead stare on the other end. Exhausted, I called these guys. I was asked to text pictures of the color, pictures of me, and how did my schedule look in the next 24 hours. BLASPHEMY to the intrusion into my life! I booked with Tammy and rolled in. Immediately, I’m acknowledged by name and offered a drink. Then I sat at the color station and had a panel of experts go to town on diagnosing my hair and pulling test strands to show me options since they were experimenting on trying to get the color right all day before I got in. They work like a clever gang of sheering ninjas: slinging dye, hair, and love all over the joint. Tammy stayed on my head and conducted the stunning orchestra that came out of the whole thang. She wrote the formula down and gave me her number in case I had questions. The place closed at 7 and she stayed to work on me until 7:30. How RUDE of her. She didn’t even TRY to rush me out of there! I am just floored by my experience. Please, if you are the type to be so offended by generous, talented, and severely dedicated people — keep walking. Or calling. Don’t worry I’m sure I got those other numbers.

Salon 93 is amazing. Not only did they squeeze me, a new client in on the same day I called asking for a «quick» appointment, but they did an excellent job on everything I needed. I went from medium/dark brunette to platinum blonde and I had never done so before. They were quick, knowledgable, and listened to everything I had as far as input and concerns. My color looks great and the cut looks fabulous too! Love my new hair and totally happy with my experience. Kris is the bomb!!:)

I had a bad bleach job in November and my hair was dry and breaking. After all the conditioning, I decided it was time for a new cut. I reviewed the salon online and looked at the experience of the stylists before I called When I called for an appointment, I was given one that day. Unfortunately, it was with the most inexperienced person in the place. I was hesitant because of the condition of my hair. I wanted someone who knew that they were doing. This girl did not. I knew I had to have a lot of hair chopped off. So, she chopped off the back in one big cut. However, in the process of cutting the rest of the hair she did not blend the short layers in with the longer layers. Nothing blends in. The haircut is horrible. You cannot style it or do anything with it. Now, I did play around with the scissors on my own to cut off the ends. But that shouldn’t stand in the way of making a haircut look good. I knew I was in for a good chopping but I didn’t get that. Heck, I would have cut my hair this unevenly and not paid what I paid. I also had the roots done and the color redone. If you lift up sections of hair, you can see where the roots were not done and the color they made the hair looks orange. If you have damaged hair and are looking for a change, I would recommend this salon but I would research who the stylists are so if you need a major change, do not go with the inexperienced. I complained and even sent pictures of what the cut looked like. I got a call based on my email that they would have me come back with someone more experienced. After I sent the pictures of the haircut, I did not hear back. I would think it would be up to them to get back to me. I had the complaint and I contacted them with the info and proof but heard nothing back.

I love this salon and I love my stylist Ashlyn Davis! I highly recommend her! She truly has a gift with hair! I drive all the way from Loganville– so worth the drive! Give Ashlyn a call!

Have been going here for years even though I have moved to the other side of town a few years back. I love the downtown Buford location and the space is more California then Mayberry. The staff/owners are über-friendly and professional. Of course, the primary reason I am loyal is that I get a good haircut at a good price — always a pleasant experience.

I visited Studio 93 today for the first time today and was pretty impressed. Not only is this a gorgeous salon but the front desk staff is really friendly and accommodating. First of all, I got there 10 mins early since it was my first time there and as soon as I told them my name they announced me over the PA system & my stylist took me back immediately(AWESOME!) My stylist Deanna was the phenomenal! She knew exactly what I was going for and did a magnificent job on my haircut. We also talked pretty much the entire time. I like this aspect because I’m talkative and most stylist/client interactions are awkward at least for me. They also use all Bumble & Bumble products which I love(they all smell amazing!) Oh & the best part is that it’s very affordable & I got 20% off since it was my first visit! If you’re looking for a great salon in the downtown Buford area definitely stop in and tell them Lindsay Spear sent you!
