Girls night out was quite fun @ this place. Cold beer and the fried pickles were delicious. Cannot wait to return for some of the famed bbq I kept hearing about. Nice place.

We didn’t have high expectations for this place. What a surprise! The food was excellent. Burgers, onion rings, chicken fingers all fresh made and delicious. Try it out!

A really solid four stars in general, for anyone’s taste — five stars because it is the type of place I like. This is a laid back Texan road house bar. The food is excellent — you will find the best«just like at home» burger. Laid back people. Just be decent folks, say hello to everyone, and you will be welcome among the local crowd… a refreshing change from most places. A big fire pit out back is really distinctive and great on a fall night. The Rusty Spur is way north on Blanco, about 10 miles north of 1604. Blanco takes a dip across a creek bed and then jogs to the right, you are still on the right path. The Spur is about a half mile further North on the right hand side.

I will not come back to this place. Smoking threw out the whole place. Service sucks it takes for ever to order a drink or food! Bartenders smoking cigarettes while serving your drinks. dogs runing in and out of the restaurant. The Band that night played 5 songs and packs up. food is horrible does not taste fresh! No wonder they don’t get busy!

This place is primarily a restaurant during the day and a bar at night. Although the kitchen stays open at night. The owners sunk ALOT of money into this bar to bring it from its former dilapidated condition to the cool«Texas Dance Hall» style it is today. It is WAY up north on Blanco Rd. and they also cater to the weekend biker crowd. I met some friends there on a Wednesday night for a couple of beers and ended up staying for a couple of games of(free) pool and then a very tasty BBQ dinner. Then they fired up the Karaōke on the large band stand. They have a large fire pit burning out back, which is nice to wander out to with a beer in your hand. Since they are(well) out of the city limits, they allow smoking inside the building(non-smokers, don’t worry, they have an excellent ventilation system). The ONLY drawback were the children running around. Now, I don’t mind kids, but at 10p at night? And on a weekday? I learned that they belonged to one of the waitresses. Hmmm… All in all, we had a good time and will be back to check it out on the weekend to catch a band.
