Gohar’s Eyebrow Design

I usually go to Roopa’s brow lounge in LA downtown. I am very happy with Roopa’s, but it is 40 mins away from home, and was looking for something closer to Glendale. I tried Gohar’s eyebrow and upperlip threading, and i am VERY VERY disappointed for several reasons —
1. She peeled off skin near my eyes. Now I am extremely upset, as it will leave a permanent scar for me
2. She made it very thin, even though i asked her to keep it thick. It will take me months together now to grow it back to the natural thickness
3. She did not give me the shape i had asked for. In fact, before starting she did not even ask did i wanted. I told her several times and was quite skeptical if she understood or not. I should have read the other’s reviewer’s review. sigh
4. Her threading is extremely painful. My skins if extra sensitive, and threading is usually very painful for me. That’s why i am very picky about the place. Roopa’s is the only place in LA where i can go without dreading the session. But this session with Gohar was so painful that i wanted to run away mid-​session. I would have appreciated it if at least she was considerate, given that my skin is so sensitive. I left the salon looking completely red faced
5. the final stroke — $ 23 for living through so much pain, and ruining my brow.
Never going back!

Let me start off by saying that I’m verrryy picky when it comes to my eyebrows and i do not trust just anyone with my eyebrows. I found Gohar on Unilocal and I couldn’t be happier. She’s really professional, friendly and attentive. She’s always on time with her bookings and really works with my very limited schedule. I’ve been going to her for over 2 years now and I’m very happy with my results each time. I see why everyone had nothing but nice things to say about her in their reviews.

Gohar cleans up men’s eyebrows too, she makes sure that they look natural, definitely the place to go if you’re a guy who needs to get rid of a unibrow

Gohar is the best. She is very sweet and listens to exactly what you want. I’ve been going to her for 3 years because out of all the other eyebrow places I’ve been to, she makes me the happiest! Most places take 10 minutes to do your eyebrows and it is very rushed, but Gohar takes her time and makes sure that every. single. brow hair. is. PERFECT. You won’t find this kind of attention to detail anywhere else. And at the end she shows you which direction your eyebrows grow and which areas to avoid plucking so you can grow them out and achieve nice, full brows. The price is very fair for the eyebrows of your dreams. She really is a miracle worker and can transform your eyebrows to a shape you never thought you could have lol. There’s a reason why she has 5 stars :)

I had basically lost all hope in ever having nice, thick eyebrows like I once did many years ago. After reading the reviews on Unilocal,I decided to give it a shot. What did I have to loose? I have already been with Gohar twice and each time I can see restoration and improvement in my eyebrows. She takes her time and shows you which hairs are staying and and why she isn’t plucking/​threading. Expect to wait at least 20 min but so worth it! I feel she is a bit on the pricey side but then again you can’t really put a price on happiness.

Gohar is amazing! So friendly and professional – very skilled, minimal discomfort. She got me right in for threading and a wax. Beautiful job, she’s my new go-​to person!

I guess I’m a one off here. I went to Gohar because of her awesome reviews. She was very nice and I was able to make an appointment. She started on my brows but then her next client arrived (seemed like a regular) and she stopped working on my brows, which admittedly did need a lot of work, and asked me if she could take the other lady and come back to me since it would take time. I’m not the type of person to basically ever say no so I shuffled my hair groomed self to the waiting area and waited 15 – 20 min for her to finish the other client.
Then I went back in. Gohar was explaining to me certain things about eyebrow shape which I love because I, too, am obsessed with eyebrows. However, I did not get the shape I wanted. I told her I wanted to keep them on the thicker side with the angular too (I love a good high drama brow). Instead she threaded then plucked them removing my natural angle and making them more curvy. She was pleased with the results but I just really did not like the shape. I think it was a more of a European style brow. I wanted a good sharp tranny brow. Anyway, it was $ 25!!! I nearly fainted. That’s way too much to be able to maintain.
I’ve not gone back to Gohar after the one experience. And after having a few other threading fails around LA, I now will only drive myself 40 min away to my spot, Prime Brows, which I discovered through Groupon and never looked back. Check out my foxy brows I posted with my review on their page!

Gohar is great. I went there 3 weeks ago and my eyebrows came out perfect. I specifically told her not to make it thin which is an issue I have with a lot of eyebrow techs taking off to much. She shaped my eyebrows perfect and listened to my direction of what I wanted. I def recommend going by her. You will be a happy customer!

My eyebrows haven’t looked this good in years! Gohar knows what suits my face better than I do! First time having my eyebrows threaded and she was really patient with my teary eyes and sneezing. Finally found my go-​to eyebrow spot after a year of searching in the Burbank area!
FYI SHE ONLY ACCEPTS CASH. I didn’t know this walking in, and she was not bothered in the slightest that I had to run to the bank. She did the work for me an then said to just come back later with the cash. I wish I had that kind of faith in humanity!

She is great!!! Only that she took just a bit to much off my eyebrows. But other then that I will return to see her again every two weeks. Remember to bring cash. Oh BTW if it’s your first time coming she is in the salon near the Wingstop.

«Quality over quantity» is the best way I can describe Goahr’s work. She is amazing! Its not surprising she has nothing but 5 star ratings from all her customers! She does an excellent job, her prices are fair and most importantly, she doesn’t rush through your appointment. She is a perfectionist and she really takes her time and does quality work. Make sure to call ahead to make an appointment, she is readily available.

Upon seeing Gohar’s great reviews, I called to schedule an appointment. She fit me in easily the same day that I called. She made sure I knew she is located inside the salon next to the UPS store.
I got so caught up in my day’s errands that I completely forgot about my brow appointment…25 minutes after I was supposed to be there, I got a call from Gohar. She asked if I was still coming, or else she would go home, and I immediately left my house, arrived 10 minutes later, and was greeted by her.
She asked how I wanted them shaped, and then quickly/​smoothly waxed and plucked. It took a total of 10 minutes and was $ 15 with the Unilocal check-​in deal.
I’ll definitely be returning because of her willingness to wait for me and, of course, the great brow wax.

I am new in town and my eyebrows were out of control! I used to get them waxed all the time but I loved the threading! They looked soooo much better! I highly recommend Gohar! She was able to shape my eyebrows perfectly!

She’s truly the best! I have gone to other people and they don’t do as fantastic of a job as she does with making sure she threads all the extra hair. She listens to what shape you want and does exactly that! You will not regret your decision to give Gohar a try!

She is the best! I was looking for a good eyebrow designer to fix my totally uneven eyebrows, I decided to try Gohar because of all the good ratings. I’m so glad I did, she did a terrific job. From now on only she gets to touch my eyebrows.

Eye brows out of control? Are you so furry it’s distracting. Then it’s time to GOhar. This woman is THE MASTER. not *A* master. THE. The only threader out in California I have ever met who A) cleans her hands before touching your face. B) Actually crafts your eyebrows C) Is virtually painless because she’s so skilled. GO. GO NOW. why are you waiting, you’ll only get furrier…
Also, prepare to pay in cash. She does accept credit cards but it’s easier for her if you pay her $ (she’s so good I’d give her a money order/​cashiers check or any other form of currency she could think to request).

The reviews don’t lie, she’s very good at what she does! Hadn’t threaded my brows in weeks and she made them look great! Only reason I had to take off a star was because I think she overdid the threading on one side and I got thread-​burn on that eyelid. It stings :/​but I still love her attention to detail.

i have always had crappy eyebrows. and recently I went to some mexican lady late one night (i was desperately looking for a spot to do my eyebrows last minute emergency) and this lady fudged them up beyond repair (or so I thought).
So i let my brows grow for about 3 weeks. They looked like war torn Poland in WW2 LOL. I thought there was no point trying to get them done and to let them grow some more but I got fed up with the messy look and Unilocaled for some new eyebrow locations.
After reading all the great reviews I tried gohar and she was like I will try my best to repair them and to just «clean up» my look. When she got done with them I was amazed!!! not too thick, not too thin, not too flat, not too arched. She made them just perfect and EVENED OUT! my brows actually matched haha
She showed me what parts to not pluck and told me to be patient and to let them grow in for another month and then to come back to her.
I will only stick to her from now on! I have finally found the perfect eyebrow spot after searching for a long time.
