The store is cool but the racist signage around the store is very inappropriate and not funny, ironic or cute, at all.(See photos)

Can’t believe I did not know this place existed so close to home. I used to visit Rocket Fizz every time I’d go to Palm Springs. I had no idea there were other locations(never bothered to check online) until last week when a coworker told me there were several locations. Bad news is I won’t look forward to visiting Rocket Fizz when in Palm Springs, good news is I can visit this location quite often! Only negative about this location is they do not have the Japanese candy variety the Palm Springs location has.

It’s a small little store with small little things. Right when I walked in I felt like I was in a vintage candy shop. There are candy bars that I haven’t seen in forever. As for the sodas, they had just about every flavor you can imagine. To be honest, some of the flavors did not sound too appealing. I ended up getting the coffee flavored soda and it was not the taste I was expecting. I’m sure they have some amazing flavors but my advice would be that if it sounds gross it probably is. The short time I was there I had fun looking around. If you are craving candy I would recommend stopping by here.

What a cool place! I’ve lived in the area for years and just decided to walk in one day and I’m so happy I did! They have a large variety so you’re bound to find something to your liking. Lots of old school goodies as well as specialty candies, sodas, etc. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, this is the place to go!

Stopped here on a whim with my brother and his children and, needless to say, we were all like kids in a candy store. It seemed like all of the candy and soda from my childhood was here, along with lots of new things to send my blood sugar level into the stratosphere. Thankfully, I don’t have the sweet tooth I once had or else I would’ve gone hog wild in Rocket Fizz. In addition to the classic drinks(Original New York Seltzer), there are plenty of wacky flavors, from bacon to Rowdy Roddy Piper’s All Out of Bubblegum Soda(RIP). The décor is a lot of fun, too, with concert posters and vintage product signs lining the walls(every sign is for sale as well). The young lady working the counter was very sweet, which seemed appropriate considering the location. Soda and candy connoisseurs, this is your mecca.

I love the great old school feel of this place. The small signs ranging from the 50s baseball promos, to the posters of 80s hair bands playing in the 80s. The soda pops are interesting as well. They have bacon soda, bacon candy, and garlic flavored gummy bears. Amongst other things, you have a great variety of items to choose from and enjoy as you time travel through the history inside this place. Great old school feel, and fun for the kids.

We went here while on vacation. We usually try to find stores like this when out of town. They have a great variety of current and classic candies and craft sodas. My two issues were that they were out of my favorite soda(Leninade) and the girl at the counter was very disinterested in everything but her phone.

WOOHOO!!! KIDIN A CANDYSTORE!!! BACKGROUND: The Rocket Fizz Soda Pop and Candy Shops are one stop shops for all of your soda pop and candy cravings. There are thousands of bottled soda pops and candies from all over America, including some from other galaxies. The gigantic selection will launch you back in time to when you were a kid – even if you are over a hundred light years old. And if you are a kid, don’t plan on growing up when you are inside of a Rocket Fizz store. Rocket Fizz is a lot of fun and nostalgic. There are hundreds of retro and gag gifts, and concert posters and movie posters, and tin signs too. The inventory is always expanding, just like outer-space. So if you want to have fun then fly on over in your space ship and cruise around a Rocket Fizz universe. Just be careful of those two alien Rocket Fizz founders and company owners – Robert(Rob) Powells and Ryan Morgan. STATS: Sunday — Thursday: 10:00am-8:00pm Friday & Saturday: 10:00am-8:00pm Metered or residential street parking EXPERIENCE: Roaming the streets of Burbank with a group of Unilocalers, we stopped inside this quaint retro candy & pop shop. Barrels, tables and walls filled with all things sweet and nostalgic there was a lot of, «remember these???» and«Oh my gosh, we used to…» and«oh look, it’s…» So many fond childhood memories were found in this place from the types of candy to the pics of Lucy from I Love Lucy to vintage items. Great little shop to bring out the kid in you. Although we didn’t purchase anything, we did enjoy reminiscing with one another and sharing stories of our childhood. Fun place to get to know where the others came from. I’d love to go back again, possibly with another group of friends to find out more about them, as well as feel like a kid again. The Good: not only do they carry New England-favorite Moxie soda, but it’s a delicious version made with Pure Cane Sugar, unlike the standard version I would get in Maine which has High Fructose Corn Syrup! The Bad: their Cadbury bars are the American version«distributed» by Hershey’s(meaning manufactured by, with different ingredients, but Hershey’s doesn’t want you to know that). Still, a quick walk through the store showed a great selection and it’s a nice little shop well worth a visit to!

This place is great. From it’s quirky soda and old school candy to the vintage gag gifts… this place is always a blast for young and old. TIP: There’s a vintage pinball machine that really works!

I have an insane sweet tooth. If you’re looking for specialty candy, vintage candy and soda pop(the ones in bottles), you’ll want to look in here. It’s a huge selection of everything sugar! It’s one of those stores where you’ll see something and think, «wow, I totally forgot about those! I loved these when I was a kid!». Everything in moderation? That includes sugar highs, right?

Such a huge variety of candy and soda I’ve never seen before. Tons of whacky and silly candies to soda. I feel like a kid all over again. They also have some posters and vintage like items.

Still like the place, they still have great stuff in there, and the set up is still very cool, but the prices are fucking ridiculous. I actually found green tea Kit Kats there, score I thought, boy did I think wrong. $ 10.99 for a bag of 12 mini bars, and when I say mini I mean small as fuck. I found the same shit for $ 5.99 at a market on Sawtelle. I get it, they’re not very easily accessible, but a $ 5 buck mark-up is fucked up and greedy. On a positive note the dark chocolate coconut patties were good. *Update* Just walked out of the Dollar Tree and saw those same motherfucking coconut patties for a buck, Rocket Fizz sells those shits at $ 2.99 or someshit. Fuck that from now on i’m getting my candy fix from the Dollar store! That is all.

We came here during Ladies’ Night Out at Magnolia Park. Rocket Fizz is a cute little candy store located behind Porto’s Bakery. There are tons of different kinds of candy from my childhood that I can’t find in other stores. So many flavors of taffy. Grab a bag and fill it up. Rocket Fizz also sells all kinds of bottled sodas, from bacon to sweet corn flavored soda. They offer free samples of some of the flavors at the counter. Just ask for a sample and the staff here will gladly let you get a taste. While the sodas are regularly priced(about a buck and some change) the candy prices are kinda steep. Some things I can get cheaper at Daiso. I also liked how they have vintage concert posters and funny novelty signs as décor. They are also for sale if you are interested. Great place to check out if you are in the area.

I felt like a kid in a candy store… literally! Discovered this little gem while leaving Porto’s Bakery and waiting for the Conan O’Brien taping to begin. If you’re going to the taping, be sure to stop here while you wait! Completely worth it if you’re a candy lover like me or even have a slight sweet tooth! The shop is filled with all types of candy! Candy buttons, candy cigarettes, onion ring mints, bacon cotton candy, sodas that you’ve never heard of, Zebra fruit stripe gum(btw, how are they still in business!!!), licorice, etc. If I listed every single thing they had there, I’d be writing an essay. The owner was super chill, super cool. I mean, who takes the time to draw a rocketship on the brown paper bag and handwrite the store name on there? If you don’t stop here, you’re missing out!
