YUM!!! I always passed by this place on my way home from shopping so I decided to stop in. The man behind the counter was really nice and when I told him what I liked he made WONDERFUL reccomendations. My favorite was the chili con carne, ham and cheese, and the spinach!

I appreciate something different comming to burbank, the place is cute the people are nice but the empanadas were not impressive at all. I know it’s the low quality cheese and the portion is very small in comparison to the price… also they don’t have Inca Cola! C’mon…it’s like having a peanut butter sandwich with no jelly!

I found this place on Unilocal with a solid 4.5-star review, so I decided to give it a try. Upon my arrival, I noticed that it was a cute little shop-type restaurant with small 2-seater tables outside. I reviewed the menu to see what I’d like, and the Chili Con Carne empanada caught my eye. It’s cool that they have vegan options though, so I can bring all of my vegan friends. I ended up ordering the chili con carne with a horchata to drink, and I wish I ordered another empanada. It was so good! It wasn’t overbearingly spicy, either. It was just the right amount of spicy. So that was my trip to World Empanadas. Needless to say, I’ll be coming back for lunch sometime.

freshly made pillows filled with the dreams of your choosing. Come here. Eat this. Finally after passing this place while driving around town, I came solo with the intention of bring of bring back some for my girlfriend. I ordered the spinach and cheese and the potato. They were hot, I knew this because the nice man said so, also my digits told me but I couldn’t wait and inhaled one after the other. The empendas did not make it home, my girlfriend had nada… see what I did there. They have a punch card, I believe its by 10 get a free one. This is not hard to do

Ahhh, I’m counting down the seconds until my return to World Empanadas. As we were waking up, one of the ladies that works there was walking out to approach a homeless man was walking by. She asked him if he would like something to eat or drink. Although he turned down the offer, I found this gesture quite touching. The best way to describe this place is much like a small cupcake shop. Like a cupcake shop, they have all of the available empanadas on display with a little notecard that states what kind of empanada it is. I got the combo, this includes 2 empanadas of your choice, a side, and a beverage. I got the spinach & cheese and spicy potato. For the side I picked the chimichurri pasta salad. It was all delicious. I also tried the desert empanadas. Nutella and banana was my favorite. With all the flavors you remember from your favorite empanadas at home, World Empanadas hits the spot and brings you back. All of the empanadas are wrapped differently to differentiate them.

Just ate lunch there and I would like to eat lunch there… for the rest of my life. Lunch combo 2 empanadas with soup and a drink. First the simple stuff: Tortilla soup-just the way I like it. Chock full of veggies, not creamy, total comfort. To drink: Hibiscus horchata. I need a heart emoji for that one. I had never eaten here before so I asked for a recommendation– I got the spinach and cheese and santa fe chicken. The Santa Fe chicken had a little zip but nothing crazy. The filling in both was exactly what it should be. What puts it over the top for me are 2 things: 1. The empanada dough itself– slightly crispy, but mostly bready. Warm and delicious. The salsas 2. I got chimi and a red salsa Dump a little of those on ohhhEVERYTHING. It’s the icing on the cake. The cherry on top. The sauce on the empanada. I’ll be back to try the rest.

I’m a happy camper. Just had a nice lunch with a Sloppy Joe empanada and a potato and onion spicy empanada. Wonderful light flaky crust, which I like much more than dense crusts. Followed these guys from their liquor store days to this really cute storefront, bursting with charm and friendliness. Great customer service, a smile from each person. Met nice people at the community table. REALLYNICEPLACE!!! Folks, $ 2.75 for a high quality empanada is very fair. When burgers are regularly costing $ 5&6 from fast food places, and $ 13 and up in restaurants, anything that’s good that’s $ 3 or less is fine. Do not DARE to compare this to McDonald’s or what you can do at home. That’s BS. So fat, these are the best empanadas I’ve had in the L.A.Area.

This place is an empanada heaven!!! I love their lentil & quinoa vegan Empanada, my other favorites are the chicken, biscuit & gravy, Nutella & banana. Their empanadas are baked to perfection(light & flaky), that’s right not fried like others. They offer chimichurri and other sauce but I eat it plain because it’s absolutely delicious even without the sauce. I’ve ordered as much as 100 empanadas from this place in the last few weeks(for a party and they all loved it). That’s how good it is!!! If you are in the area, stop in and try their yummy empanadas, I guarantee you won’t regret! Ambiance: Great Food: Delicious Service: Good(one lady behind the counter with pharmaceutical blonde hair doesn’t smile much, she doesn’t look friendly, but I think she’s ok) The lady with dark hair is absolutely darling, I always hope she’s at the counter each time I’m there!!!

FOOD /a bit more expensive than my neighborhood market that sells them, but for mine it was worth it. Chimchurri sauce is yummy to add too. — spinach & cheese: MYFAVORITE, the dough was baked perfectly, flaky and chewy. The filling was so creamy and tasty. Two of my other friends liked this one the best too. — creamy corn: second favorite, it’s not super creamy but the corn was still a good level of sweet and tasty. — breakfast: this one was actually my mom’s. It was okay, would’ve been nice to have a little cheese heheh — chicken: nope, my friend got it and let me and another try it. None of us really liked it so not recommended! Besides, for the more expensive price, I would get a special one like the spinach and cheese wink wink — nutella and banana: yum. But I only took a bite, because it was too much for me. But still one to try! PARKING&SERVICE /there is little parking in the back, but most people ordered to go and were in and out pretty quickly. So parking was not really a problem. Service was quick and they were nice.

My husband brought me up some lunch from this little place a few days ago. We have driven by several times but never actually have eaten there. I got a ham, cheese, and jalapeño empanada, and a breakfast empanada. They were both very good, but when I saw how much they were each, I was a little taken aback. I thought it was a little over priced, like how I would feel if I had paid that much money for a cupcake. However, they were delicious, and I can’t wait to try other empanadas. The first one on my list to try is the banana and nutella!

My friend brought me out to her favorite empanada spot — World Empanadas, where I saw my first sign flipper on the corner. Sixteen different daily empanadas filled their board and the counter, each wrapped in a different shape to signify the filling within. $ 2.95 each, or $ 31.95 per dozen. A combo meal consisting of 2 empanadas, 18 oz soup or salad, and 1 drink for $ 8.25 gives you an idea of the size of their empanadas. They aren’t big. More like snack sized. We ended up sharing 3 of them between the two of us. The beef(ground beef simmered with potatoes, green olives, bell peppers, onions, garlic, lemon and spices) was okay, but I could have done without it. I much preferred the spinach & cheese(sauteed spinach simmered with garlic, lemon juice tossed with a parmesan cheese sauce and topped with jack and cheddar cheese), and the Nutella & banana was pretty good as well. The pastry was nice and thin, and the pockets decently filled. Salsas were located on the side for self-service, though they are also listed on the menu board for take-away in 8 oz portions for $ 2.25. Limited seating available at the communal table and a counter along the wall.

Having just come back from a South America trip, I was craving a good Empanada, and stopped by here because I saw that it had great reviews! The interior is a very interesting design. Clean but quirky! The server was extremely helpful and friendly, and offered me samples of their homemade hibiscus drink and horchata. The empanadas are just a bit bigger than a dumpling, and you’re gonna want to order multiple. There are many different types and they all sound amazing so make sure to get a variety! The empanadas were pretty good. Solid 4⁄5. Street parking available

A great new addition to the neighborhood. We enjoyed a variety of flavors. Friendly staff. Very personalized service. Parking may be a challenge as we didn’t see a lot nearby to park. Street parking’s available. We had the lunch special… great for a newly opened restaurant as some have been open for years but don’t see the benefit of specials there in Media Center. As it’s become more popular, I anticipate there will be seating challenges… not much space when we went for the typical lunch hour crowd. I love the way they shape their empanadas to identify the filling, illustrated on their frequent purchaser card…1FREE empanada on your 10th purchase. Flavors like: Pinto beans and rice, ham cheese and jalapeños, quinoa and lentils, bacon egg and cheese basket and the sweet stuff too… Nutella and banana or decadent dulce de leche! A flavor for everyone… stop by and try! Clean, fresh and authentic!

Oh man, as a Burbanker, I don’t like to brag … but this empanada place is the bomb. About 15 different kinds, they all cost $ 2.95, and come out piping hot into your to-go box. Check their handy guide so you know which one is which, as they do get jumbled in the car on the way home. Sometimes I’ll be thinking, now what am I gonna do for dinner tonight, and this place will pop into my head. Hurry though, they close at 7pm. My faves are the spicier ones(sante fe chicken, ham & cheese & jalapeño, potato and spicy cheese) but spicy is a relative term and these are relatively tame. Sauces on the side with little to-go containers for you. The place is a bit like a barn, no sense eating there until you’re going to chow down quickly and then walk over to Quenelle for dessert. The empanadas are filling. Get three. A hit!

I came here for breakfast empanadas today. They were so delicious, spinach and cheese is my favorite and it’s sooooo yummy! I didn’t get a picture because I devoured it. The three different sauces that they offer at their salsa kiosk are all amazing. You have to try all three. Yum. I also bought a breakfast empanada, which is bacon and egg and cheese, delicious, and a banana nutella. All of these were amazingly delicious. I split them with my hubby and he loved every bite. I decided to do a little taste test contest today of local empanada places, so I also went to the Buenos Aires bakery about a half mile away on Verdugo. World Empanada’s empanadas beat their empanadas by a long way. Buenos Aires spinach cheese empanada was salty and tasted more like a spinach pie, but World Empanadas spinach and cheese is creamy and delectable, with the perfect seasoning level and the most delectable crust. I also love their spicy potato here at World. Buenos Aires does have great sweetie pastry though. I’m going to have to include Portos in the next empanada taste off, can’t wait. I think this place will beat theirs too, the guy who runs World Empanadas is such a great chef and really is skilled at flavor profiles. Oh, and they got a much better sign. I was happy to see that, you can easily see it from the street now and it’s really pretty. The lettering is darker and stands off the building and is very nice. They also started decorating this place inside with new tables and chairs and and it’s very cozy and beautiful. There were a bunch of people waiting for empanadas when I was here at about 9 –ish. I’m glad they’re getting more popular and have more customers, because I love this place and I love their food. Burbank needs more yummy places like this.

This place is amazing! The empanadas are to die for. We drove an hour and a half to try them and it was worth it. The staff is super nice and the ambiance was a modern take on their native culture, a nice place to sit and enjoy the delicious food. I will DEFINITELY be back and I recommend this place to anyone. P. S. You can even order the food ahead of time from your phone on their app! And they have a card you can use to get a free empanada on your 10th visit.

Great Empanadas! I was actually headed to Porto’s to find breakfast and some goodies to take to work and drove past the green World Empanada logo car in the front of their shop. Advertising does pay! I quickly Unilocaled and made an abrupt safe u-turn and stopped on in. Found out if you checked in on Unilocal you get $ 2 off. I loved the Empanadas here. The man behind the counter helped me choose(I think he was the owner), and I ended up getting 6. The crust on their empanadas were flakey, fluffy and tasty while the fillings were delicious! My favorites were the cream corn, breakfast and chile con carne. It was a perfect stop to pick up some empanadas. My only gripe was the empanadas weren’t cheap: $ 2.75 for one, $ 16.99 for a half doz and over $ 20 something for a baker’s dozen. I got excited to use my Unilocal coupon for a dozen but ended up getting only 6 since i didn’t need to buy 12 and spend that much. All in all yumminess! Breakfast burrito was $ 7.

Just did a little impromptu EMPANADA Friday celebration at the office. What a delectable treat; I did a melody of all the flavors. Nothing left in the box, we devoured them in no time. Friday’s special empanada with meat, rice and raisins was really tasty. The owner was cute and told me about the Ladies Night out event that they frequent; last Friday of the month in Burbank(on Magnolia near Pinocchio’s Restaurant). Food Trucks and Live Music — I’m gonna hit it tonight. Totally recommend them; their Empanadas are out of this World!

Five stars customer service, cleanliness, and oh yea empanadas tastes great! We walked in and the smell of fresh bread baking with savory meats and potato was overwhelming. I fell in love immediately! I purchased the spinach and cheese, spicy potato and cheese, beef and potato, and chicken(did I mention it was two of each!) Anywho, the gentle guy at the counter was kind enough to pick all my orders from the fresh baked tray. I tried the spinach and cheese in the car and I was drooling. Yummy goodness!

Chef Matt has blown me away! He unveiled: The Whole«World of Empanadas,» before my eyes. With his magic fingers, he crafted this burst of flavors… that pleases the devourer’s mouth sooooooooooo good. You’ll be begging for another! The spicy potato empanada won my heart, and my taste buds! The dough is a perfect texture, soft, fluffy and not too thick. The outer layer has a nice crunch! Inside the mashed potatoes are soft, moist, and filled with various blends of tongue tickling spices! Mmmmm uh mmmm! It’s so perfect that: it taste delicious without salsa! Watch the empanada flakes decorate your wardrobe, while you eat! Mmmmm. These baked goodies will have you licking your fingers, over and over again! You’ll be licking the crumbs! You think I’m kidding? Try one! I recommend: 1) Spicy Potato 2) Corn 3) Spinach 4) Nutella & Banana 5) Dulce de Leche Apple Next time I’ll try: 1) Two cheese 2) Beans & Rice 3) Qinuoa & Lentils (I love that they have vegan/vegetarian options)*** Whose ready to take on the«Alligator Challenge?» (refer to business description) You can’t put the whole thing in your mouth, unless your an alligator! How many Unilocal alligators do we have out there? I’m sure there’s one lurking amongst us! I called in, and pre-ordered my dozen. It took 15 minutes. Highly recommend this, unless ya want to wait! This is a super cute, Mom n Pop place! We got Mom, Dad, Matt the Chef, and The Star of the business video Bro. Beautiful fam! Great, loving vibes from the joint. The atmosphere is lovely, inviting, and super creative! There are cute messages and quotes all over. Which, I’m a total fan of.(I’ll capture upclose next time). Mostly, people are here to pick up. There is a nice bench though, if you decide to eat here. There is parking in the back. But, loads n loads of street parking. Better to park upfront! Payments on IPad! Yes they take Visa! No monopoly money doesn’t count unfortunately. Get your Empanada on! Don’t forget to use your Unilocal deal on a dozen! Enjoy!
