Great small café. Food was delicious and plentiful. Enormous cups of coffee. My husband had the chicken fried steak, I had to California omelette and my elderly mother –in-law had an enormous burrito. My only complaints are that it was a bit noisy so it was hard to hear, the senior menu it was unimaginative and on the back of the regular menu so my mother-in-law didn’t even see it. Wait staff was friendly we were able to sit down right away even though it was crowded and of course, the food was delicious!

My family loves this place for breakfast! I’m sure all the food is great, we’ve just haven’t ventured past breakfast yet. Everything is freshly made and you can taste the difference. We live no where near this cozy spot but we make the drive to enjoy the chicken fried steak! Soo good!

The waiter was unfriendly and the breakfast isn’t good. The customer was on the phone. We are not going back again.

Went here for dinner, just before they stopped doing dinner service. It was close to one of the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. To start, we arrived at 8:15pm. Almost two whole hours before close. When we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly staff memeber, but unbelieveable noxious fumes. The smell was so terrible that my daughter, who was almost 7 and also struggles with Sensory Processing Disorder and PDD-NOS(Atypical Austism), loudly proclaimed: «WHATISTHATSMELL?!!». So, what was said smell? A MIXTURE of cleaning chemicals to do their nightly mopping. Mopping that they were doing well before closw, and while people were still in there eating. I decided the chemical fumes were bad enough to where I wanted to leave(it is such a tiny dining space with little ventilation). However, this change in plan prompted a meltdown from my daughter who opted to stay, because it was the«planned restaurant», despite the lingering smell. Rather than fight about it, I decided to allow her to stay and order, as a way of avoiding an even worse end to our evening. Well, after being seated — right by where the lady was mopping — we ordered. My dad had the 12th Burger, which he found good. Daughter, spaghetti and meatballs — which was also good. For our toddler son, we ordered fries and figured he could also share his dad’s pancakes and my Country Benedict’s. Yeah. That did not work out so well… Instead, the waitress brought my very hungry toddler«fresh out the fryer» fries, which she placed DIRECTLY in front of him. Thankfully I was able to notice how hot they were and intercept them before he got burnt! Of course, this action on my behalf, caused screaming from my then 18mo old(also possibly autistic) who had been given something; just to have it taken away. In order to deal with the chaos unfolding, my husband, whose pancake meal arrived after everyone else, cut in to give our son a bite, and it wasn’t even cooked. The Country Benny was gross, hashbrowns drenched in oil, and just not as advertised. All-in-all, 2⁄5 meals were really good, and myself, husband, and son were all left dissatisfied and hungry. People were friendly, though, which earns them 2 stars from me.

Countryside Café is now one of my favorite breakfast spots. Having been here 5 times already and enjoying everything from Cali Eggs Benedict, Salmon Scramble, to something dialed down like eggs, bacon, and hash browns… Everything comes out well seasoned, prices are hard to beat for Seattle area, service is great and the environment is a relaxed home feel. I recommend trying this place out.

I came down with norovirus(violent stomach flu) within 24 hours of eating here. I hadn’t eaten in anyone else’s restaurant or been in anyone’s home. Huge bummer.

OMG!!! My fried told me about this spot months ago and I forgot until my bestie wanted to have breakfast today and I just couldn’t with IHOP and Lenny’s [Denny’s ;)] was out of the question!!! BESTCALLEVER!!! We made it before it got busy and got to pick where to sit. DONOT let the décor fool you… it is very clean and comfy. Our waitress Ariel and the other ladies and gents were awesome super polite and attentive. And the food came out SUPER quick… I think it was ten minutes after we ordered. And the portions MAN!!! I am suffering a severe case of ITIS right now as I type this I will be surprised if I eat anything before 6pm! I had the Country Fried Steak with hash browns, eggs and a ginormous homemade biscuit. The steak was fork tender, the gravy had just the right amount of flavor and was so creamy! The eggs tasted super fresh like they came from directly from the farm, and the hash browns were just like I want them crispy on the outside and just done in the center. I only had to put a lil S&P on the eggs but that is anywhere so no big there!!! The biscuit was fluffy and soft and OMG the raspberry jam [HOMEMADE!] is sooooo yummy sweet yet still ‘tart’ and the other waitress [didn’t get your name sweetie sorry] gave me some to go thank yoou!!! Can you tell I love this place and will be back??? If you find yourself in Burien it would behoove you to stop in but be forewarned it is a small place so you may have to wait but it is definitely worth it!!! I wanna go back now and try something else but I’m too full!!!

Generous free parking where the only obstacle is the other diners’ parking skill :) Friendliest staff, and homie atmosphere! Milkshakes! Yes, yes, yes. Coffee? Meh… Like Denny’s. Sometimes the wait for 2+ party is 30 mins, especially on the weekends! Idk, everything seems to explode in Burien on weekend mornings. Food? Oh hell yes! I’ve tried meatloaf, turkey dinner, chicken pot pie, French toast, waffle, short cakes, and ALL of them are good! They are what they say they are, guys! Countryside Café, for real! I love them. A brunch at this place is definitely a treat over the weekend! Nom nom nom…

Been living in the area all my life and how did I pass this place up? Came here on game day for a quick brunch because of all the good reviews I herd. Service was prompt & server was very tentative. My coffee cup was always full and was asked several times if everything was well. We had ordered the Steak & Eggs including Salmon eggs Benedict. Upon arrival of the food I was amazed of the portion. It was huge! The hollandaise on the salmon Benedict was on point, flavorful with capers and onions. The homemade hash browns were nicely seasoned and extra crispy on the outside and soft/fluffy on the inside. Heaaaavvvvooonnn! Only thing I regret is not being able to finish my meal! Definitely a great place to be for comfort food.

Don’t let the looks of the diner fool you. The place may be run-down and dingy, but the food is on «a-whole-nutha» level. The portions are HUGE! I had the Countryside Benedict Breakfast and it is absolutely delicious! Come hungry! The servers are attentive and kind! I didn’t have to ask to get my coffee refilled — it suddenly filled itself.

Small place and not at all fancy, but the food is good and service friendly. Breakfast all day! Huge portions! The Seattle Scramble has grilled salmon in it, so it is less salty than the versions made with salty lox. Yum! The breakfast sandwich is delicious, too. Mom had the French toast. Loved the toast and the bacon is big, thick and crispy.

We stopped in on our way back from an eye appointment, so I can’t say a whole lot about how the place looked(cue canned laughter). But seriously, it’s a cute little place on a corner, and should remind just about anyone of just about any other little country/truck stop diner across the country. And that’s the appeal, right? I got the Bay Shrimp Omelet and my friend got the sandwich that’s made with french toast for bread, plus bacon. I liked the hollandaise on the omelet, but otherwise it was pretty simple. My friend enjoyed her sandwich, but didn’t keep it down long. Can’t blame that on the restaurant, but my friend did nothing different that day, so I feel like it should be noted. The decaf was good, and so was the raspberry jam(I ate it on the fries). Why three stars? It was pretty expensive for a simplistic diner meal, and, of course, you get the curt waitress and the scrunched booth by the door, and it just makes for a very average rating.

This is my first time here. My sister looked on Unilocal to find a new brunch place near home. We wanted to try something new instead of the good old Huckleberry. It’s small and busy, but luckily we were able to get seated right away. Kind of reminded us of a smaller Beth’s. The portions of the food was huge! You definitely get your money’s worth and everything was super delicious! The quality of the food was great! Will have to come back again another time for brunch :)

This was a recommendation by a couple of friends and always looking for good breakfast. It is a small place, so you might have to wait a bit and not much waiting room inside and a little loud inside. Once you are seated the breakfast is pretty good. I always have to try out the chicken fried steak and I was pretty happy. The hash browns that came with it were very good. The california omlete was a pretty good choice, no skimping on the fillings.

This was a hidden gem. I’ve been to Burien 80 million times and never even noticed this place. Pros: Delicious — get the banana rum french toast. AMAZING!!! Nice portion(you definitely won’t leave hungry). You will most likely leave some on the plate or walk out with a box. The plates are massive. Easy on the wallet Cons: They don’t have a location in Nashville… it would be my Go-To Breakfast spot.

Everything was just mediocre. Something was off tasting with the gravy. The eggs and hash browns were decent. The French toast was a little over cooked. The server took our order and dropped off our food. But other than that, we never saw her. The person I was eating with needed a knife, and never got one. I would probably choose this place over Denny’s, but probably not go out of the way to dine here again.

We were super hungry when we got to the country side café and it was packed. Luckily there are a lots of tables in this funky shaped diner. Because we were running late as well as hungry, I didn’t pay attention to what we all orderd, but I do acknowledge the quickness with which the food arrived at the table. Thanks to the quick service and cooks we actually made up all the time we were late! It was hot and ample and we all licked our plates clean before running out the door. Lots of parking, and very cute. I will be back!

Came here today for some brunch around 10:30am and of course it was very busy, considering it’s Labor Day. The restaurant looks like a diner and seating is very cramped. For that reason, I didn’t mind the 25 minute wait for my group of 4 people. However, after ordering our food, it took 45 minutes — which was absolutely ridiculous since the restaurant seemed to slow down after the breakfast rush. While we were waiting, a couple nearby my table left early because of the long wait. The waiter also came and asked it how things were going… awkward? But if the food is delicious, I can forego waiting for an absurd amount of time. We ordered the California Eggs Benedict(with avocado, tomato, and onion) and Salmon Eggs Benedict. When I got my food, I knew it was a mistake. The good thing was, the portions are HUGE. However, the eggs benedict was SMOTHERED in hollandaise sauce. It looked like someone knocked some sauce over and spilled it all on the plate. As a result, the biscuits were soggy and every bite was loaded with so much sauce. I couldn’t taste any of the other ingredients. The eggs were undercooked and the hashbrowns were crisply on the outside, but very mushy on the inside. As for the salmon, it was WAY overcooked to the point that it was a brownish color. All in all, my plate just tasted like a pile of eggy mush. Yuck, I could only eat about 1⁄3 of the plate even though I was super hungry. After leaving the restaurant, everyone in my group had a queasy stomach. What a waste of a meal!

I came here on a Sunday after church. Of course, the place was just packed with people. The seating arrangement was quick and dutiful service. I ordered 3 eggs with hash brown, home-made biscuits, and a slice of pineapple and orange. The biscuit is just big, but I thought it was dry. The eggs were made simple sunny side up, and the hash brown portion was huge as well. To me, everything tasted okay. It doesn’t have strong flavor. Being an Asian with strong food taste, I wasn’t used to bland American breakfast. However, I still like the fact that the restaurant has a family oriented feeling to it. Local Burien folks really come into this diner and enjoy the traditional American meals.
