«Quick! Find me a nurse!» Have no fear, Cassandra is here! Okay, I’m not a nurse, but I am officially trained in First Aid, CPR and AED! I paid $ 110 for the class. Was the class fun? No. Was it educational? Yes. Would I do it again in two years to get re-certified? Yes. Apparently there is a version of the same class that is half online and half live in-person. If you don’t want to sit at a desk and make out with adult and children mannequins for six straight hours, I would go for the online route. As much as I don’t want to «waste my time» taking a class all day, I’m happy the AMR has classes that are so accessible nearby! I’m also grateful for all the volunteers who teach this class, whether it be the three hours or the six, your time is appreciated. Thanks!

I took an adult and infant first aid /CPR course at this Red Cross. Good balance of instructional videos, pre-reading, hands on CPR dummy time, and Q & A with the instructors. Location was easy to get to, had plenty of street and lot parking, and the venue was clean and orderly. Instructors were energetic and positive. Lots of demo products were given to participants to try such as bandages and cpr masks. Got to practice in pairs on adult size CPR dummies, as well as infant sized CPR dummies. They even had foam mats to kneel on to protect your knees and everyone got their own removalable dummy face to practice on. The practice AED units were pretty interesting to demo and practice using on the dummies too, nice skill to learn. I completed the first part of the course ahead of time online. The second part was the in person instructor lead hands on time that my comments above apply to.
