Definitely, bang for your bucks. They do not skimp, the sandwiches are huge and flavorful. They have a really good garlic sauce, the sandwiches are very addictive. The dutch crunch is not very crunchy and a bit stale tasting and it gets very sloppy but that is never an issue. Just a warning for those who are trying it for the first time, grab lots of napkins! There is usually a line as well. One sandwich is really enough for at least two people to share.

Little Lucca demolishes the price vs value vs taste proposition by offering enormous sandwiches at rock bottom prices. Seriously, one can get a hefty sammie(probably weighs in over a pound) for a mere $ 8ish per. But a cheap meal is nothing if it doesn’t taste good, and these loaded babies deliver the flavor. High quality meats, nicely chewy bread and a bevy of fresh toppings make these truly satisfying sandwiches. And, as many reviews have discussed, you cannot miss out on either the garlic or spicy sauce; they are the perfect compliment. If I have one gripe, it’s the sandwiches may be too big. Not in terms of my appetite, mind you. However, there is a reason why the lines are so long here. Many people customize their orders to make ½ and ½ sandwiches, thus getting some variety and/or feeding more than person per order. But, this just creates a log jam at the counter that slows down the whole process. It might be better if Little Lucca offered a half-sized option which would speed this up. It might even improve their business. While sitting inside the shopping, tackling my behemoth, I counted no less than 5 people walk up only to leave once seeing the long line. Food for thought… and for my belly.

This sandwich shop is amazing! We always get the crab cake sandwich and share it, since the size is large. It’s so delicious! Their garlic sauce makes it so much better! Absolutely love it!

I love everything about this place. Every sandwich I’ve tried is amazing – especially the tri-tip and double meat. I love the garlic and jalapeño spread, I love how every single bite is a flavor explosion in your mouth, I love how big the sandwiches are, I love the price(you can pay $ 10 for an amazing sandwich and split it between two people), and I love anything else I missed. LOVELOVELOVE.

Food as expected. It’s like their independent wealthy so they don’t need any new business. I call to place an order and I’m kept on hold for almost 10 minutes. I hang up and their phone is busy.

Bigger is not always better. The sandwiches are huge the bread is good but the turkey was super slimy lunch meat. It was just ok.

When people move out of state most crave in and out. But that’s only because they clearly have never had a Little Lucca sandwich. The Dutch crunch is the perfect start to your delicious creation(Although I myself love the sweet roll). The garlic aioli spread had the kick to make this little sandwich shop stand out from all the rest. Weather you prefer meatballs, turkey or veggie delight you will be left feeling full for days! Now if you’re too chump to handle their beast sandwich don’t fret –share with a friend… or not…

This was a favorite place for my family and I to visit, until we came here today to this location. We were disappointed that they ran out of all bread except for sourdough and all turkey and ham by 2 p.m. so we decided to make a sandwich with whatever they had left and we were shocked on the lack of meat that the sandwiches were made with. I’m used to them being very meaty and well-proportioned for the price. We were pretty disappointed that each sandwich had approximately 4 slices of meat in a 5 inch tall sandwich, the ratio was uneven. After I posted a photo of my sandwich I received a comment from someone that said did you ask for like me that’s when I knew it was just not me wondering?!!

Creative sandwich sauce that gives this place its uniqueness! The garlic sauce is so good & the jalapeño spread has just enough spice that makes you crave more. I got the chipotle bird and it was huge! Like the size of my thigh(kinda). There was lots of meat, and slices of smokey bacon. I didn’t get to my sandwich until about 4 hours later, the sauce made the bread soggy, which usually ruins the thing– but Little Lucca’s was an exception. The flavor and meat was so good that I didn’t mind the wet buns. If you don’t have much of an appetite, I’d recommend you to share it with another. Or if your inner heffer self desires the whole thing– go for it.

I’ve been meaning to stop in here for a while. It’s literally right by work, but I just never seem to go in or when I do the line is wicked long. The stars aligned and I finally made it in. Real talk, the lady grabbed the piece of bread to start my sandwich and it was literally the size of my head. Two meals here unless you’re super hungry or super greedy. No judgement either way. Anyway, I got the regular tri tip($ 9.75) on Dutch crunch. Typical toppings minus tomato(hot pepper sauce, lettuce, garlic spread, onions, pickles). Sandwich was hearty and delicious. Bread was soft and that hot pepper spread lingers! Delicious sandwich that I made two meals out of because it wasn’t a greedy day. Even though the line moved quick, it was still a bit confusing. They could stand to rope the line off so you don’t confuse the people standing to pay with those waiting to be served or being served.

Nobody needs a sandwich this big! But they are tasty. This is my first sandwich at Lucca’s sandwich shop. I got the steak caesar sandwich. It is full of flavor, steak, melted cheese and lots of garlic. I was warned about the size of the sandwich but didn’t believe the hype. I believe it now. There is no way I can finish this sandwich which is a shame. The real review should be on how good these sandwiches are leftover. I am hoping when I attempt to eat the other half for dinner that the Dutch crunch bread will still be crunchy and not soggy but I have my doubts. Overall the sandwich is good but I doubt I will go back. The wait was long and I feel wasteful getting super a huge sandwich and only being able to eat half.

My office is in the same plaza as this sandwich shop, and unfortunately they are competing with the sandwiches next door at Lunardi’s which are smaller and less expensive. I will typically go to Lunardi’s since I don’t need two people’s worth of sandwich, but there are some things that Little Lucca does fantastically that make me come here every so often(read: their garlic spread is amazing). At $ 9-$ 10/sandwich, the food/$ is pretty on par with Lunardi’s, as the sandwiches are about 30% larger. They have a garlic spread here for the sandwiches that is reeeeeally good. You should ensure that you don’t have afternoon meetings after eating lunch here, as your breath will reflect the sandwich for a bit, but it’s definitely worth it. I usually just get a turkey or chicken breast sandwich with all of the veggies and garlic spread. One off-putting thing about this place is the microwaves that they use to heat up the meat. They have a few microwaves in which they heat up the meat directly as you watch. You have to laud them on their transparency here, but at Lunardi’s I can get my sandwich griddled to heat it up and I know it’s not being microwaved. The meat will be hotter at Little Lucca, but I’m not a huge fan of watching well-cooked deli meat be microwaved before given to me. Because of this, I usually get my sandwiches here cold. The quality of meats here seems pretty good, and the lines are never that long in my opinion. You can eat half of a sandwich and be quite satisfied, and it’s definitely a stretch to be able to consume an entire one of their sandwiches in one sitting. All in all, I go next door to Lunardi’s more regularly, but come here occasionally if I’m craving the garlic sauce.

Sandwiches are huge and packed with hella meat and other good stuff. Came to the Millbrae joint because the SSF place is smaller and gets more crowded. This one also has some seating indoors! Like a regular deli sandwich place, you order and tell them what you want and the type of bread you prefer. I ordered the bbq beef on dutch crunch with everything and added sprouts. As I watched them make it, I was amazed at how huge the sandwich was! Literally the biggest deli sandwich I’ve seen and I thought Ikes was big. Sandwich came out to about $ 11, not too bad and you get every bang for your buck. I devoured the first half but definitely was not able to even eat a quarter of the second. It was a yummy mess! What I liked most about this place is that they are not stingy with the ingredients in the sandwich. Great place to try, but still would pick Ikes over this place even though they specialize in different kind of deli sandwiches.

One of my favorite sandwich places! Portions are HUGE, you can share it with 4 people, they don’t play with their amounts. I usually get their Ruben sandwich or Chipotle Bird! Super delicious and their ingredients are fresh. I recommend getting EVERYTHING on it unless you have a preference. What makes their sandwiches different from the others is their special GARLICSAUCE. It’s magical I swear. $ 10 for a sandwich that you can eat split into four meals is an amazing deal. They also have some other interesting sandwiches such as Crab Cake, Tuna, and so forth, but I like to stick with the meats: D They now accept credit cards, but if you want cash they have an ATM inside.

It’s been YEARS(more than 10 if I’m counting) since coming to this spot, but how awesome to see that some things just don’t change. Well, for the most part anyways. They accept credit cards now, but let’s be real now… who doesn’t these days? Little Lucca reminds me of that long distance girlfriend you once had… but it just didn’t work out in the end because it was just too far… yet the memories are there and when you see them again, all these memories come flooding back. Sandwich portions are still ginormous and easily feeds 2 – 3 people for only $ 10! The garlic sauce is beyond amazing on any sandwich, and I highly, highly recommend going with Dutch Crunch. You can never go wrong with their Ultimate Combo, or any sandwich really… All of their sandwiches are cold cut, but even if you aren’t an avid sandwich lover, it’s a safe bet you’ll love this place. Do be prepared to wait in line, and do take advantage of all the extra napkins they give you… you’re gonna need it!

You definitely get a bang for your buck, and a great taste. WARNING: GRABNAPKINS! Nestled in a shopping center, outfitted with average 1990s restaurant set-up, this is a small-town sandwich shop feel. My boyfriend and I shared a sandwich, and still had leftovers, not to mention a small stash of deli meat leftover for later sandwiches. Hot Bird Sandwich(5⁄5) — an(over)abundance of Sausalito Turkey with lettuce/tomato/cheese and a really interesting Cilantro Caesar spread. I like it on the Dutch Crunch bread, but you’ve got choices — boyfriend likes wheat. I don’t like spicy foods, and though this is classified«hot,» I find it yummy! Thank you come again? I hear the crab cake sandwich is good, and my guy has decided this is his«go-to,» so will be trying it soon!

I can understand if this place isn’t for everyone. If you’re looking for an elegantly built sandwich, refined flavor combinations, and an engaging dining experience, by all means go elsewhere. Little Luca is probably not your thing. However, if you’re ravenously hungry and want a giant sandwich that lets your coworkers know how much you love garlic, this is the place to be. I actually came here at the suggestion of a local, recommending that if a «needed a sandwich place» this was his favorite. I got the«hot bird»(not sure if this is the same as the chipotle bird everyone mentions) with«everything.» It was enough for me to eat a full lunch and to take home a portion for dinner as well. They’re really heavy on the garlic with that sauce they have, and I love it. It might not be a «balanced» flavor, but it sure is delicious. Everyone was friendly and I felt like the prices were appropriate. I’ll definitely be back again for lunch… And subsequently also dinner.

these sandwiches are ginormous. It’s enough for two, unless you have an extremely large appetite. I love their garlic sauce and any on their dutch crunch is always good. I made the mistake of getting extra garlic sauce once and my sandwich became too salty.

There’s one word to describe this sandwich shop. Original. I’ve been coming here for years and the quality is always there. They always stuff your sandwich with the good stuff. Staff here is as nice and service is never slow. The sandwiches are HUGE and the quality is definitely there. All of the sandwiches are around $ 10 or less. There are a lot of option to choose from. They made my sandwich super fast and efficient. The shop is extremely small. They have 2 small tables for indoor seating and 2 small tables set up outside which is nice on a warm day. Overall, always a great experience and if you are low on time call in or fax your order in advance and you can just pick it up on the spot. Cuts down on the waiting time to maybe about 10 minutes! I recommend the Little Lucca special BLT with avocado or chicken Santa-Fe and always on Dutch crunch, just delicious! Little Lucca is definitely worth a try.

I usually go to the South San Francisco location, but since we were in the area, we decided to try this location in Burlingame. They offer the same sandwiches and the line isn’t as long as the SSF location. We ordered the Chipotle Bird which was good. But the bread didn’t taste as good as it usually does. The Dutch Crunch wasn’t crunchy, but hard and chewy. The sandwiches at Little Luccas are HUGE and you must share. Pretty good for about $ 10. And they’re messy, you’ll get juices flowing down your fingers and lettuce and etc falling out the other end when you bite into it. I prefer the SSF location because my sandwiches have been consistently delicious there, but the wait can definitely be REDONK! During prime time, the wait can easily be an hour wait.
