Went for dinner around 4.45pm. Weekday. This place is very popular with the surrounding locals. Our service was very good initially but dropped off as it got busy. Food: a dinner plate of enchilada, one beef and one chicken. The beef one was very good. The chile rellenos was different and not to our taste. Ordered 2 tacos; fish and chicken. Had a lot of stuff going on it which made it a mess of tastes. The fish was supposed to be grilled but didn’t taste it. The flan was delicious. We tried it, was OK but would not go out of our way to return.

PanchO taqueria in san mateo so far is better than this ripped off cantina place. Always crowded bec workers had no place to go no choice if office is closeby. Bland taste and boring. Over priced in some aspects compared to other mex resto

Great Mexican place in Burlingame. It does get packed to so make sure you are well prepared to wait on busy nights. We had a huge stroller with us and they were super accommodating. Our server had our glasses filled before we could even ask. Now onto the yummy food. The jalopeno peppers, are no lie, filled with cheese and bacon, are godly. But damn need a warning sign. HOT! Like i need a minute to wipe away my tears hot :) Our entrees were fat kid approved. I had the fajitas. The meat was well grilled and tasty. Portions were on point. Enough food for two really. Great atmosphere. Full bar. Clean! Fat kid with children approved!

I thought the food were amazing. Enchilada, fajita and appetizer quac and chips. Not stingy on the alcohol neither BUT the service was awful. The hostess was not welcoming at all and our waiter was rushing us. He didn’t even bother checking up on us. I would have told him that the food were excellent, perfect spiciness to my liking, a good kick. But no, he was too busy to come back for us. I think they were understaffed and unfortunately, contributed to a poor dining experience. I do recommend their food but I wished the service was also there. I was there to dine after all. If I knew the service was subpar, then I would have just taken my food to go.

My 70 year old wife needed to use the restroom, I parked near this restaurant, they told her she had to buy something to use the bathroom, she bought two small Caesar salads and used the bathroom, returning to the car without any plastic forks, we left and parked somewhere else and ate our salads using our hands!

Because I didn’t enjoy brunch at Sixto, I felt the sting of being nickle-and-dimed for every little thing: – Side of pico de gallo: $ 1.50. Of course, I’ve gladly paid more for salsa at better establishments, but at Sixto’s, the portion & taste made it feel like a rip-off. I didn’t particularly like their red or green salsa, hence the request. – He asked for another pineapple-mango agua fresca, this time without ice. We expected to pay for the refill($ 3), but we didn’t expect it would come in a smaller glass. We paid the full amount, but didn’t receive the full product. Good job irritating a customer over a couple ounces of liquid. The source of my discontent — the soggy tortilla chips in their chilaquiles & the overcooked scrambled eggs that topped them. Mexican food is my absolute, absolute favorite cuisine & I’ll clear out my savings account just to satisfy my constant craving. However, I’ll make sure Sixto’s never sees another penny from me. #greedy

Came here for happy hour today and it was super busy. Only had to wait about 10 minutes though. The house made calamari and guac were good, but the taco plate(with carne asada) and queso fundido dip were amazing! We will definitely be back for the tacos and queso dip.

Hands down, one if the best cantinas I’ve ever been too. Any taquitos you get is delicious. Guacamole is divine. Salsa has the right touches of cilantro and peppers. Food tastes very fresh. The combination of mixing cabbage with the crispness of anything crispy, is right on! I think happy hour is best(I’ve only eaten happy hour), even though the main menu looks like it has tastier plates. Great atmosphere. I like the inside taking in the outdoors in front. Good beer and well drinks. I’d come here«anytime» I’m in the area.

I enjoyed my visit to Sixto’s Cantina. A good place to walk to after a visit to the Burlingame library. Since it was early I arrived for Happy Hour. The menu for Happy Hour is average. But everything I had was decent. Carne asada 2 taco plate and Queso fundido dip was more than enough for me to sit around talk, watch, and just hang around at the bar for a bit. The Carna asada meat was spiced perfectly and cook to a tender medium. All the the food was good and I would order it again. Price was about what you would expect for a place like Sixto’s in that kind of location. While you can find low prices, you won’t find the same experience. On the whole I thought the happy hour food menu value was reasonable. The basic $ 5 happy hour margarita presented well enough BUT seemed a bit weak to the mouth. Not just for alcohol content, but for overall flavor as well. When the salted rim is the best thing about the drink there is a problem. Next I ordered a top shelf margarita with Patron Silver. Bartender Jack advised a different tequila from Tapatio. He wasn’t wrong. The next margarita was awesome. Wasn’t cheap. But it was much better. Both great, and at the same time points to an issue(probably from management) to make a «happy hour» more economical for the business to dispense. I’ll be able to say more on my next visit. As for seating, I arrived at 5:15PM on a Friday evening and the place was already packed with a waiting least 3 parties deep. The bar experience I had was more than good enough to recommend if you don’t require a table. But if you do want some room to spread out then arrive early, call ahead for a table, or be prepared to wait a bit. Everything is close in the downtown area. So if you find a free parking spot just walk. Don’t stress out about parking close to Sixto’s. Burlingame is a nice walk. If you have to park a few block away you will enjoy the view on the way. Even in the rain. Overall I like Sixto’s Cantina and will be back to try more food and drink in the future.

I’ve been here several times. For happy hour, dinner and weekend brunch/lunch with a big groups. They have an interesting and more gourmet selection than a standard Mexican cantina. But the food isn’t good enough to justify the prices. The drinks are ridiculously priced and never very strong. We’ve had to ask for our sangria pitchers to have more booze in them. Taste wise… the food is just average. There are no real standouts on the menu. Burlingame lacks a really good Mexican place so we’re hoping they might offer a little more for a little less on their menu at some point… or at least some free chips! Service has always been friendly and accommodating and the space is nice.

We’re a fan. A big fan. The wait waits to too long for a Friday night. We waited 10 – 15 minutes fora party of two. The margaritas were great. We had a half bottle of margarita which had enough for 3 glasses. It was a perfect amount for us. The chips and salsa were awesome. For dinner we had the carne asada and the enchiladas. Both were wonderful. The carne asada with mango salsa was awesome. Both sweet and spicy. Our carne asada was cooked a perfect medium to our liking. The enchiladas were great as well. We tried a beef and chicken enchilada. If I were to go back, I would get both chicken. Both were great though. To top it off, our service was awesome. Chris was nice and friendly. Fast. Gave us great recommendations. He even remembered us from when we visited probably 4 – 6 months ago. Good guy. We’ll be back.

We really enjoyed coming here for an encore. Certainly a local favorite when it comes to Cali-style Mexican dishes. Have a great drink selection to choose from from craft beers to sweet Margaritas. A must to try is the Guacamole with chip appetizer, very flavorful with Jalapeños even! On to the entrees to try is the Pollo Asado, Mexican Style Short Ribs and Carne Asada. All tasty dishes with a very authentic flavor to each. Portions are of a good size. Ambiance is very fun with good music and good sports on the TV bar. A must visit when visiting downtown Burlingame.

A Mexican spot to add to our list of date night restaurants! We would definitely go back. Nice atmosphere with a big bar and lots of seating. I ordered the papusas with carne Asada. The papusa was alright but the carne Asada was delicious as well as all the sides! I would consider it a large portion. My only complaint was that I ordered sparkling water. The waiter refilled my drink without asking which is nice but then we got charged for it. 5 $ for 2 sparkling waters.

Popped in here to watch the first part of the Warriors game before I walked across the street to meet up with friends for dinner. Luckily, I got here during the happy hour so I got chips and salsa with the margaritas that I ordered. Since the queso and the guacamole were happy hour specials, I decided to splurge and get one of each. The guacamole was nice and smooth with a bit of spice but the queso with chorizo that I chose was naturally very oily. I probably would go meatless on the queso next time. The final tab for two drinks plus queso and guac was about $ 27 which is a deal and it was for weekend happy hour! I don’t think any other place on the block has a weekend happy hour. If I’m in B-game in the future around weekend happy hour times, then I’ll be back here for a margarita or two.

Great brunch spot on weekends especially Sunday. You can order a variety of traditional Mexican breakfast items until 3 pm I believe. The lunch menu is awesome and small plates like the Papas Fritas With Lime salt and roasted pasilla chile dipping sauce is AMAZING. Seriously, this dipping sauce is to die for! I’ve loved both breakfast and lunch items. Typical huevos rancheros and chilaquiles or even enchiladas and nachos are Always presented beautifully and never lack on flavor or quality! Excellent selection of tequilas on hand as well.

Service was great! Came here on a Monday night and there was still a lot of people after happy hour. We were served right away and our drinks came out in 5min. Chips and salsa came out fast as well. Can’t wait to try this place again for dinner! Definitely recommend this place if you want to have a casual drink or two.
