Went to the Coffee House for lunch. Place had a great ambience and warm atmosphere. Very cozy for a coffee or pastries. I would highly recommend the Coffee House if ever in downtown Burlington, Wisconsin.

I have been here a few times and if you are a serious coffee drinker, do not come here. The place is charming with a homey feeling to it. But a couple of things turned me off. First of all, their blend is not good or maybe their beans have not been stored properly or maybe the baristas have not been trained properly or are mixing wrong. The bottom line is, you are not going to find a full flavor coffee from this place! Every time we have been here we get disappointed with our flavor. I was also disappointed with their service! Three times is a pattern to me and now I feel compelled to warn others. Why do the baristas have an attitude? They don’t seem to be doing a great job to begin with. There is no hello when you come in through the door, no smiles nor welcome when you approach the counter! It is like they are doing you a favor. If you order food, the guys who bring you the food actually have a better disposition than the baristas. Because the baristas don’t seem to care. If you have an issue and bring it up, good luck getting an acknowledgment. Talk to the kids who are serving the food, maybe they are the ones who should be running the place. I am pretty serious. We are not coming back.

Discovered this charming coffee shop when my parents lived in Burlington, and it’s one of the reasons I’m so sad they moved! The downtown location is ideal, and the inside is uncharacteristically spacious – you don’t expect a coffee shop to have high ceilings and a lot of room to stretch out, but they do! They’ve got great coffee and tea, board games and books aplenty, and they host live local music nights(I’ve only seen videos but would love to go back and experience one in person). Insider secret: when I frequented the shop, the circular(or octagonal?) table by the front window had a drawer filled with cute notes from patrons. Check it out!

What a great little place! My co-worker and I stopped in for a quick lunch on our way to a meeting and we were both happy we did. I had a tuna melt and my co-worker had the homemade quiche. My sandwich was very good. My co-worker enjoyed the quiche, although she said it was a bit too thick(the piece had to be 3 inches tall). The interior is quaint and comfortable and there’s a cool staircase toward the back. You order at the front counter and your food is brought to you. The service was quick and friendly, which was nice since we were a little rushed. This place definitely seems like a hidden gem!

Great spot for a sandwich or coffee before a movie! Stopped in tonite; both the tuna melt and grilled cheese were excellent; Spotted Cow a bonus… we will be back…

I was very impressed by this place. The inside is beautiful and staged so perfectly! Very clean and modern. The chalkboard wall displaying pictures of the ratios in coffee drinks is done extremely well and is very helpful. Their pumpkin spice latte beats out Starbucks! I was thrilled that they had a vegan pastry, I had the carrot cake muffin and it was so delicious!!! The employees were extremely nice! I will most certainly be coming back!

I was looking for a yummy beverage and a place to work for a couple hours and stumbled upon this delightful Coffee House! Wow! It’s huge and is an awesome space! I happened to be there during open mic night, which was really impressive! What a fun, musical environment! They seem to have an emphasis on the arts and I noticed many posters and a calendar highlighting frequent musical entertainment. There are lots of spaces at The Coffee House… a large open room with many table configurations and then another side room with tables and a couch. They politely posted a sign on this night stating that customers who needed a little more quiet could use the ‘chat’ rooms upstairs.(To their credit, staff also checked in to make sure I, and other customers, knew that option was available as well!) It’s also just a cool, historic looking building that has been taken care of very nicely! I don’t live in(or really near) Burlington, but would gladly find a reason to head back and spend some more time at this Coffee House! I had a slice of quiche(which I order any chance I get!) and it was also huge… and tasty! I’m not a coffe drinker, so I don’t know about Anodyne coffee. They do have Rishi tea, which is good… and Wisconsin-based as well! I also didn’t get a chance to try their bakery items, but based on their website and other reviews, it looks like it’s worth a taste! Make a point to check the place out… any time of day!

My expectations were pretty low when I asked the hotel clerks if there was a coffee house or bakery nearby that I should try and 3 of them couldn’t remember the name of this place, all while complaining that there wasn’t a Starbucks in town. Less than 2 blocks walk later and I’m enjoying 2 of the best donuts I’ve had in years and a fantastic Chai. Great space, great service… I just wish the large iced chai was bigger than 16 oz. Beer selection wasn’t extensive, but included Surly Coffee Bender(!!!)

This place is just perfect. I wish I had one in my neighborhood. The space is big and inviting. There is plenty of room for big parties yet you can always find a knook for a party of one. The food is surprisingly really good! I had a breakfast burrito and it was served with chips and salsa. The burrito itself looked small but packed a punch of flavor and was actually quite satisfying. The coffee was good, I had a latte and the coffee to foam ratio was delightful. My only complaint is that they didn’t get my name right so I had to wait a bit for my order as they were called out the wrong name. Oh, and I wish it were in walking distance to my house!

Great coffee wonderful pastries and pies and sandwisch offerings — this is a cool as it gets. What every coffee shop strives for and few reach this level of excellence. Not too bad for handicapt accessible entrance and service.

It just seems no matter how many times I’ve been here there isn’t a friendly smile to be seen. A friendly word or gesture. It’s always like it is the first time they’ve seen me. Now it will be the last. Smile everyone. It goes a long way.

Barista’s are clueless and inconsistent. If you just want to sit and sip, nothing bad about sitting here. Nothing super remarkable either. A starbucks comes to town closes this place within 90 days.

Great place in Burlington to stop and have coffee. They are also building a kitchen that should open soon for you carb lovers out there. For me it’s black coffee and theirs is good. Nice big space to enjoy it in and some tables outside for a fresco coffee. They have music occasionally too and a piano if you dare. For us adult bev types they have a few good microbrews available too. It’s nice to see something spring up in Burlington and hopefully will drive more small local places to pop up(hello wine shop…)

Awesome place and a great vibe. Sandwiches and other items are fresh. Every town should have a little place like this. Great to hang and catch up, get your wifi on, on just chill.

This is my favorite local coffee shop in Burlington. Great drink selection serving Anodyne coffees. Always fresh pastries and treats and who can beat breakfast all day. It has a cool fun vibe with lots of different seating options especially for larger groups. Don’t be deceived from the outside. This is a long interior space. And the staff is super friendly.

A lovely local coffee shop – and I consider myself a bit of a coffee shop connesiour. We were in town visiting for the Chocolate Festival, so on the Memorial Day morning when we stopped in, it was a fairly lively place. Our host told us that this recently opened establishment has become a cornerstone of town, including entertainment on what I assume to be their generously sized back stage. In the morning, the generous windows let in a good amount of light, and the good-condition but mismatched furniture gives the whole place the homey feel of a gathering place – like all the furniture just came together to hang out, and you can too! Similiarly, there was a collection of for-sale art around the place that was a nice addition as well. The scone I had was excellent – an almond bit of wonderfulness that was moist and flavorful, several qualities that are often not the case for scones. The baristas were also friendly and flexible, agreeing to add espresso to my request for a blended hot chocolate. And also… the bathroom. Maybe this is a weird thing to comment on, but they had a ridiculously nice bathroom. It is meticulously kept and includes fixtures far nicer than the ones in my house! Evertything is far beyond the«minimum acceptable,» which is what I would like to say about the place in general.
