On a Sunday morning expect to have to wait you place in line but I’m telling you; it’s most definitely worth the wait. We were able to sit outside which was nice for a MN morning. The traffic is a little heavy, but the mini-walls they have constructed cuts down on a lot of the direct noise. The coffee was so-so but the food was DELISH! I had the salmon eggs benedict and my husband had the chipotle benedict. His loves the heat and he said it was a nice subtle heat that did not over power and complimented the little pancakes they serve it on. Yes pancakes. I am totally in love with this idea to replace the often chewy and hard English muffins. My salmon was yummy, not over-the top, the sauce was authentic and egg cooked perfectly. The fresh dill sent this one to the moon. P. S. the wait staff was helpful and friendly — something that it hard to find these days! You will most definitely find me in line here again soon!

I just ate here last night. Very much comfort food! It was delicious. I was with an old friend catching up. We were there on a quiet evening. The waitress was a little slow getting back to us to take our order, or to follow up and see if we need anything. At one point we were the only ones left and I realized it was getting late– we were there 45 minutes after close and no one said a word. It was great not to be rushed and the waitress was so unbelievably sweet about it. I appreciated it. I had the monte cristo– the turkey was really thick on it which left it a little dry but with the jam it was great.

I have been to thousands of restaurants across the US. This restaurant is one of the best! The young man, we had, never let my coffee and water empty. Never had to wait on anything. Yet, he wasn’t annoying, he let us enjoy our meal. EXCELLENT food and service!!!

I absolutely love brunch and wherever there is egg benedict, you can bet I’m there! I heard great things about Jensen’s and I was excited to try it but sadly, it was nowhere near meeting my expectations… The area is nice and parking is free/easy. It was a Friday afternoon but it was pretty busy(not sure if this is normal). The wait was long for a table but wasn’t terrible. I really wanted their Friday special, the Crab Cake Benedict, but sadly they were sold out so I ordered the Chipotle Benedict instead and my friend ordered the Bacon Benedict. This next part completely ruined my experience… THEYOLKWASN’T RUNNY! In fact, it was hard boiled. The poached egg was deceivingly«perfect» looking… should have known it was too good to be true. My favorite part of a benedict is cutting into the yolk but I was robbed of that –sigh– My friend suggested trying the french toast next time so I might be back to give them another chance at some point. Definitely won’t order the benedict again though.

The worst biscuits and gravy. I went for breakfast and ordered biscuits and gravy which had three biscuits with a quarter of a cup of gravy on a big plate with potatoes and eggs. I requested more gravy. The waitress brought out a half full quarter cup ramekin; I asked for more gravy. The waitress charged me for less than a cup of gravy. My husband ordered the stuffed French toast. It was delicious. If it weren’t for a kind server and good stuffed French toast, I would give the lowest rating possible.

Never had a bad meal here. Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, the menu has some unique and well done classics on it, not to mention very fresh tasting food. Last time I was in I had my usual Chicken Salad(cuz it’s just so darned good), spouse had very fresh nachos(not all greasy and heavy like most places), and my Mom had the Liver and Onions special that I snuck a few bites of and wished I had gotten myself. Always hard to make up my mind on lunch/dinner or breakfast(served all day) when they have items like Lemon Ricotta pancakes and multiple delicious sounding variations of Eggs Benedict.

I had heard rumors and fables of some awesome breakfast food here at Jensen’s for quite some time. One cold, snowy Saturday, I set out across the metro to verify these said rumors. Lets start with the parking, lots and ramp around the area shared with the apartment complex. So, fear not. Wait time? Better F’ing believe it. We waited an hour on Sunday morning. Why? Because I drove 30 minutes, and wasn’t going to leave without my god damn food. In chatting with others around here, this is normal for Saturday and Sunday — so be prepared. Finally get called for our table, and the restaurant itself is a nice, quaint little place. For how packed it gets, the noise from others isn’t too bad, shockingly. We order, a caramel roll — which I was told by the waitress they do run out on most weekend days, so, again, plan ahead if you’d like one, stuffed french toast, lemon ricotta pancakes, banana cakes, and some eggs-taters-sausage-ham. Caramel roll is huge. And, if you aren’t an eating machine, will certainly spoil breakfast. It was amazing though. Perfectly gooey, sweet, and not dried out. Highly recommend. Stuffed french toast — delicious, but lacked filling. You’ll see in my pic, the filling was scant. I wanted to take another pic, but, after waiting to eat for a shade over an hour, I ripped that mofo apart and forgot I had a phone. I did love the tarty sweetness of the berries/cream mix in there though, when I did get a bite of it. Banana cakes — ok. Not a lot of banana to them, but, the house syrup that comes with the meal made the cakes still pretty damn good. Taters — were cold. Wasn’t happy about that. Wasn’t sure if they were if they were cooked ahead of time, from another order or what, but, they were luke warm at the most and closer to cold. Sausage was good, but, again, barely above cold. Ham was strangely hot, go figure. Lemon ricotta cakes — which was the point of the entire drive — was amazing. Easily the best I’ve had and didn’t disappoint. Perfect amount of lemony zest for some tart, and the slight sweetness of the ricotta worked perfectly. Ate half of my cake without syrup, and the rest with. Try it without before pouring syrup all over. Service was good. Nothing spectacular, and nothing terrible. The cold chow keeps it from being a 5, otherwise, a great breakfast place.

I love Jensens Café! Terry, the hostess/server is absolutely awesome as are all the waitstaff and back up help. I love it here so much that I’m here at least three times a week! I have never had bad service or a bad meal in all my visits. My friends and I go out of our way to meet here. Check it out… You will love it too!!!

I could see this place becoming someone’s diner stop but for me it was just ok. Service was good and the food was fine as well. There was no great highlight that would make me go back, but my experience alright for breakfast.

We dined in before a concert at the Ames Center. It was a good choice and about a 2 block walk to the Ames. Breakfast is served all day and different variations are offered; i.e. lemon ricotta pancakes, Swedish pancakes, strawberries and cream cakes, etc… Burgers, sandwiches, Mexican food and salads are also offered. We had breakfast foods and a burrito and everything was very good. The cheesy hashbrowns may clog the arteries but they sure taste great. Highly recommended.

Been here a few times now, it’s totally hit or miss and for the cost it should be a hit every time! The good! Fresh food that’s scratch made to order, if its a ½ hour wait its going to be 15 minutes or so. Super clean with a great menu. Omelets are stuffed full like they would burst! Toast is always spot on because of the great bread they use. Food can be outstanding! The bad… They love to up sell, I’m not cheap but I hate paying $ 2-$ 3 for a glass of ice with coke spilled over it. The waitress asked me 4 times if I wanted fresh OJ or coffee… Do we want cheese hash browns and when I said no she was disappointed and asked if I wanted a side of bacon they have the BESTBACON… I declined… Then she asked if I wanted OJ again… Let it go lady!!! Total up sell every time I’m here Today’s food was served cold and uncooked. Eggs were below room temp and the potatoes were not even close to done. I sent it back and kept the French toast that was stuffed with cream cheese. Triple berry cream cheese. It was fine but a surprise to see it was triple berry. They did take a whopping $ 2 off my bill even though they took back 2/3rds of my food and I didn’t want it replaced because I have stuff to do. I’d go back again but if its a mess again I’ll stick to my regular Sunday morning places. I recommend it but get ready, it’s like buying a car. Don’t feel bad to say not to all the add ons that cost you money. The staples they offer are good.

I stopped in for a solo lunch a bit after 11 while on the road for work. It’s nice and modern looking inside and the host is quick and friendly. I ordered the Philly steak sandwich with fries. The fries were great – golden yellow crinkle cut and done to perfection! The sandwich, while good enough, was lower rate on the scale of steak sandwiches I’ve had. The toasted hoagie could have used a little extra toasting and the sautéed veggies could’ve stood another minute or two to soften up just a titch more. The cheese was barely melted, which was also a turn off. The waitress was pleasant, but her timing kinda stinks as she dropped off my check before I had even eaten ¼ of my food. That’s a no-no in my book and makes me feel like they can’t wait til I gobble down my grub and get the hell out. All in all, nothing special. Just average. Figured I’d try it since their supper club in Eagan seems to be a hit. This place was more akin to a bunt or a foul tip. Yeah, baseball metaphors. Tis the season, I suppose.

Came to Burnsville on a Sunday morning for a dance competition. We had some time to kill and found Jensens through the Unilocal reviews. It’s only a block away from the Ames Center. Arrived at 9:45 and waited about 25 minutes for a table. The wait wasn’t too bad since there’s a really cute gift shop adjacent. We ordered the country fried steak and lemon ricotta pancakes. Overall everything was good, but not memorable. My favorite part of the meal was the toast with homemade jam. Wished the lemon ricotta pancakes were a bit more lemon-y. Hells Kitchens are way better. Country Fried steak came with white sausage gravy. Gravy was good but steak was more breading than meat. Over easy eggs and breakfast potato were good too but how could you go wrong with those? Overall, if we were here in Burnsville again, I’d give it another try. Maybe try the strawberry French toast that the other reviewers loved.

I came here with my kiddo for a late lunch on a Saturday. Service was fast and polite. I debated between one of their omelettes or a benedict but went with the chipotle benedict. Kiddo had chicken tenders and fries. It was funny because he’s almost 10 and she kept bringing him a kids drink in this little tiny cup with a lid like he’s 3. I could tell he was annoyed by it so finally I asked for his refill in a normal glass. My benedict was good. It was served on little pancakes instead of english muffins, which was a nice twist. The eggs were obviously poached in some type of poaching apparatus, because they came out perfectly shaped, like they were microwaved or something. They looked bizarre.(I got the sauce on the side, so I saw them perfectly.) The chipotle hollandaise was really good. Potatoes were fine. They didn’t have sriracha, which is weird. Overall the place was fine but nothing special. I’d come back, but wouldn’t make a special trip of it or anything.

I gave this a five star rating for breakfast only. The other meals are usually average, but breakfast is exceptional. I’ve been coming here for some years. I come here on Fridays for the crab cakes Benedict and it is by far the best breakfast special I’ve ever had. I cannot say enough great things about this place and its breakfast menu

I wanted to like it more than I did… The location is sort of nice, in a modern office building, which was clean and full of big windows. The café itself was full of bright colors, modern fixtures while at the same time feeling«cozy». They have you park in a city-owned garage, which makes it so you arent driving around looking for a spot, sort of nice. The host at the door was sort of rude, with short questions, that he projected with a very smug attitude. «How Many? Name? 15 minutes.» Sort of like… wow, this is the kind of personality I really want from a breakfast place. Even when our table was called, he rudely said«36″(as in the table number, I’d presume) to the staff member who sat us. I’m hoping this man was an owner/manager in some capacity, because I would not want a host with that sort of personality. Luckily, our waiter was actually extremely professional, nice and good at his job to attempt to rectify the awful first impression. Moving on to the food, I personally ordered the«Two Eggs and Toast» and they most certainly ensured it was only two eggs, as I got about 4 forks worth of food on my plate, with a single medium sized piece of toast, but a decent helping of «Café Potatos», which I would have prefered to have been a bit more crispy and less Onions. Granted, my meal wasn’t overpriced by any means for less than $ 7, but the portions were truly a let down. The eggs and bread were very fresh however, but it simply was not enough. Between the rude greeting and small portions, I honestly can’t recommend the place. It was sort of busy, so I guess this establishment has a number of fans but it’s not a place I would personally go again.
