Their pastrami sandwich was awesome and one of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. On top of that with a choice of fries, potato salad or coleslaw only $ 7.95. I had the fries and although from frozen they were quite good. My wife had an excellent BLT sandwich and her coleslaw was fresh and delicious. No beer on draft/tap however a large selection of bottled beer.

Ate at restaurant, didn’t stay in the cabin. Great BBQ, french dip was also reported to be exceptional. Potato salad and coleslaw were also quite good. All the food tasted very fresh. They also have wifi, which was a lifesaver for one member of our party. Overall a great experience, very reasonably priced.

I stayed at a B&B next door when in town for a business meeting! The Outpost is wonderful. Anywhere where dogs are welcome and they serve corn dogs is AWESOME in my book! They also have free WiFi(which was appreciated since the B&B didn’t have WiFi, and there’s NO cell phone service this far into the mountains)! Get the lentil soup if they have it available — it’s the most amazing lentil soup I’ve ever had. The people there are fantastic, love the dogs hanging out, and it is really a place for locals and«in the know» tourists. Can’t wait to return!

Ahh, Butte Meadows, The Outpost gets 5 Stars! The bartender actually sparred me on about the Stolie vodka I ordered for a Bloody Mary. I defended the vodka as it was made in Russia! After all Russia IS the home of Vodka! Well you know what the difference is? Stolie Vodka has added salt in it. I added trivia of salt is needed for proper muscle function when exercising! Nevermind the hypertension hype of salt! That is if people eat salt and sit around! Ok, there was a bunch of us who had a marvelous time snowshoeing up in this off the beaten track place. After we were starving and came upon this fine rough and tough backcountry bar and restaurant. We had super sassy service, water brought to us in bright red plastic cups and hearty satisfying food. The fireplace had these pipes to place your gloves on if you needed to dry them out. So stop on by and warm yourself up in Winter, or cool yourself down in Summa… If you happen to venture down this off the beaten track place, be sure to get yourself a Stolie BloodyMary and tell the bartender that«Stop-A-Lot» sent ya all;-)

This is a great neighborhood joint that is welcoming to everyone. All you can eat BBQ every Saturday starting at 5pm from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Menu includes all you can eat Beef Ribs, Pork Ribs, Chicken, Tri Tip, Cole Slaw, Garden Salad, Chili Beans, Garlic Bread. Very much worth the drive up the hill from Chico. Bill Prichard, the owner, has poured his heart into this place. The menu is simple and honest. Good eats! Check out the Faceboook page at
