I have used AWDB on two projects. The first thing I was drawn to was the incredible vision and talent of lead designer Anthony Wilder. Because of budget constraints, we were tackling our home renovation in stages. The team at AWDB kept the big picture in mind as they broke our renovation projects into manageable pieces. Budget and scheduling were clear and dependable, and the crew in our house doing the actual renovations were always courteous and tidy. Elizabeth Wilder monitored the projects constantly and assured that we were pleased with the progress. In the end, we have a beautiful home with touches we never would have thought of on our own. We stayed within our budget, and the results exceeded our expectation.

I recently used Anthony Wilder Design/​Build, Inc. for my kitchen remodel. I had a very small kitchen that was very dark. I chose to work with them because they do both the design and the build. I liked having one company that would handle everything for me. The design team was very patient with me while we explored different options of opening the kitchen to the dining area and the living room without exceeding my budget. I was concerned about taking down walls but they were able to show me that was my best option to create the openness and stay within budget. I really appreciated that the design team was involved throughout the construction and helped me with all my selections. I could not have been more pleased with the professionalism of everyone involved. They were very responsive to all of my needs and requests, they communicated well, they stayed on schedule and on budget and they did extremely high quality work. I love my new kitchen. You can see from the attached before and after pictures… my kitchen is a work of art. I definitely chose the right team and will use them when I do my next project (bathroom).

We had a very disappointing experience with this firm. We spent thousands to have simple drawings made for our relatively small project. During each conversation with the designer, the price we were quoted to perform the renovation work increased dramatically, until eventually it was triple the initial quote, and he wouldn’t guarantee that it wouldn’t be raised even further than that. When we asked for documentation as to what was behind the escalating quotes, the information we were supplied did not seem to us to come close to justifying the numbers. We were forced to walk away, forfeiting the design money we spent. We weren’t even allowed copies of the designs. We regret ever hiring them.

Scheduled a design/​introduction meeting at my house one month out. Anthony himself called to confirm yesterday (the day before the apt) and then he never shows up. I had to call and then I was told there was a scheduling glitch with a new system. He didn’t even offer to come out again on the day we had scheduled for. He asked about a week later.
Not a good sign for design and project management company responsible for scheduling and managing design work to be done on a home.
