My brother and I enjoyed our dinner here. The atmosphere is laid back classy country style… I had he special of walleye with creamy dill sauce and crab. It was good but I got the last serving of it and I had very little of the sauce. So little that it was on two bites. The green beans were delightful. They tasted like fresh picked green beans! I haven’t had beans that fresh since childhood! My brother had chicken with mushrooms and cheese with a loaded baked potato. He really enjoyed his potato. The service was quite friendly. Prices are moderately expensive but you get plenty of food for the price. I would absolutely recommend this to others.

We continue to go there as one of our«great eating places in Cadillac, mi». In 3 years, and probably 10 visits a year, we have only had«one» meal” that wasn’t up to par. So, I’ll excuse that:) The wait staff is so nice, the owners are great and only use top quality beef, sand their Fried Whitefish is the BEST. No polluck here! So much food for your dollar, whether its just a «huge AWESOME burger or a steak/fish/or primb rib, Some holidays they will«bring in «lamb» Too DIE for! We were sorry to see that«one of the brothers(Justin, I believe is his name?) Anyweay, he is no longer with the restrurant, but«dearly missed», as he is the«personality» of the place. Always«coming artound to speak with the quests, whether your«1st visit» there or your 20th. Long time waitress’ are so dear! Julie and Darlene especially! Still # one in our books!

I have been to the Timbers a few times over the years and my conclusion is that the food is good, but it’s not great. I love prime rib and out of the few times I have ordered it, only once did it have more meat than fat. Usually the pieces are so fatty that by the time you finish cutting away the fat, you have very little meat left. Not worth the price at all. I have several friends who have had this experience also. Their pasta dishes are just okay too. Nothing to write home about. If you were to go, I would stick with a few appetizers like the coconut shrimp, a few drinks, maybe a house salad and the bread. The place has a cute country décor and the wait staff is usually pretty friendly. I think they should work on perfecting their cooking techniques to improve the food.

I’m from SF Bay Area where we have great food and great food diversity, so it is always a recalibration to eat in small towns and in the Midwest. Food tastes are different. The service was good. The price was very affordable. The slaw was excellent although a little sweet for my personal taste, but it had great texture and a little zing. I was with a group of colleagues. The burger was good. I had the loaded baked potato which was not very loaded. The chili was good. The atmosphere is why you should go. Bears and other country paraphernalia are everywhere one looks. The Michigan state game was on two televisions, so there was the possibility of a great hangout place to watch a game.

This place is a hopping local place. Food and atmosphere are great. If you are looking for good food but want to avoid the chains, this is the place. My husband had the cherry almond walleye. Nice golden brown sauté. I don’t like fish and I thought it was excellent. He gives it five stars. I had the cherry chicken. It was good but a little too sweet. Prime rib soup was out of this world! Overall, very enjoyable meal!

great food. Got the wheelhouse steak, loved it. service was fantastic too, and my server was perfect, super patient with my parents who don’t speak English fluently. would say this place is in between $$ and $$$, it really depends on whether if you want steak or not. will come back again if I’m ever in Cadillac.

Great restaurant. Had the surf and turf. Everything was great. We were coming back from a Mackinaw Island visit and were very happy we made the short drive off the highway.

We came on a Thursday before July 4 after hiking the whole day in Manistee National Forest. The waitress was very friendly, but she seemed busy so we didn’t bother her too much when she forgot the lemons. We ordered three pastas: the Italian baked, the Driftwood, and the Maplewood. We also shared a bowl of chili. The soup came really quickly and my dad said it was one of the best he’d ever had. I’m a huge fan of chili and thought it was delicious too! For some reason however, the Italian baked pasta held us up, as it didn’t get served for about 45 minutes to an hour. The waitress was really great and let us know it was taking a while and she apologized for it. When the pastas came, the Italian baked was definitely the best! Good balance of tangy and creamy, plus the portion size was huge. The Maplewood was good too, especially the chicken. We didn’t enjoy the driftwood, though. Overall the food was decent, service was on the slow side, but we left satisfied.

Walking in we thought this would be a local version of Applebees, family-friendly comfort food. But the beer list, efficiency of the staff, and the quality of the food really was a pleasant surprise for everybody in my party.

What a wonderful find. This restaurant located off of 115 is worth the stop. Service was phenomenal. Our waitress was spot on with her suggestions on what to order as this was our first time here. The fried mushrooms are delicious, the serving size is big and so were the mushrooms. We also ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, homemade what more can I say. The sauce that came with it… fabulous! It was also homemade. Now our boys went with the Triple Threat burger. They were completely in awe of it’s greatness. Now, do not expect it to come on a burger bun. This burger is placed in white bread that is toasted. So, if you are not particularly fond of a burger that way you may want to go with another choice on the menue. Only one of my boys finished this dish. My daughter and I opted for the pizza Margherita. We should have went with the small size since the large left us with 3 pieces to take home. It came with 9 pieces, again the homemade sauce gave this pizza a wonderful flavor. The crust was crisp and the fresh basil and tomatoes were spectacular. The hubby went with the prime rib… the lumber jack portion. Thank goodness, this was a lot of food. He had it prepared medium as suggested by our waitress since she said that it would come out more medium rare… which it did. I had to have few bites. So tender and delicious, and with the au’jus sauce mmmmm good. I would highly recommend that if you are in the area and you are looking for somewhere to eat that you try them out.

This place has the essence of Cadillac, but with great food. The steaks have always been super tender and exactly how I ordered, and my personal favorite pasta is the Forest Mushroom! So delicious and I usually add some steak to it because their steak is really great! They also do live music every now and then and the place is usually full for that. Also the Fried Calamari is fresh and the only place in Caddy where it is actually those little tiny whole squid! Yum!

After an all day trip to Caberfae, this was a perfect stop to get some dinner. They have a very homey feeling to their restaurant by adorning the wall with all kinds of antique stuff such as a metal tricycle and a huge saw. The food was delicious. We got cheesy bites as the appetizers which came with salsa. The bites were indeed very cheesy without being over the top. Their small margherita pizza was was enough for two meals and came with ripe tomatoes and just the right amount of cheese. Their beer selection was also very good. Make sure you get here early after done with skiing for the day as the restaurant was packed when we got their. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly.

We stopped here for dinner during a ski trip in Cadillac and we thought it was fabulous. The restaurant is cozy and cute on the inside and every single thing we had was excellent. First off our waitress was really nice and helpful which is always a plus. They also had a solid kids menu and our food was delicious. My husband and son had steaks which were cooked perfectly and really tasty. I had the pasta with chicken, shrimp and tomatoes and it was delicious — light and tasty. Overall I would definitely recommend stopping here and we plan to return.

I was on the way from Sleeping bear to Detroit, feel lucky that I stopped by and had lunch here. Friendly and helpful service, introduced what they have on the menu very well, took good care of me. Got the pasta, it was great and huge! It was as big as bear’s face. It was penne pasta with tomato sauce… Or italian red sauce, not sure, and with lots cheese! It was delicious! I liked the bread too. Nice place, I enjoyed the forest view, comfy and relaxed.

We were sat right away even though it was a busy night. Super nice staff and our waitress was very attentive. Food(pizzas) were delicious and hot. Food came out quick even though they were packed. I think the décor was fun and we had a whimsical view out our window seat.

Reviews were very helpful in assisting our decision to eat dinner here. The menu had a nice variety and was fairly priced. Portions are very ample and tastefully prepared. The special bourbon sauce on my pork tenderloin was especially good. My friend had the 16-oz prime rib that was tasty. Our server Mel(ody) was very helpful, attentive and quite knowledgeable of the menu, not to mention eager to suggest additional items. They have a good selection if micro-brews on draft along with standard well drinks and an array of inviting ice-cream concoctions. Overall we had a great visit here. The interior is «newly» rustic, not ambient but plain good like the food they serve.

We really had a hard time deciding where to have dinner — but we sure made the right choice! I had the Florentine pizza and it was scrumptious! My son had a huge burger with blue cheese and loved it — and he tends to be fussy about food. The asiago cheese bites were great, and my daughter-in-law really liked her fish and chips. We appreciated the children’s menu too. Service was friendly & efficient. We really enjoyed ourselves — and the prices were reasonable. We’ll come back!

2 stars for the prime rib, but I’ll bump the review up to 3 stars considering the good pricing. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ As a fan of steaks and prime, rib, we decided to stop by The Timbers on the way back down from being Up North. They’ve got a nice wood bar where you can pull up a stool and grab a drink. The interior is emblematic of a woodsy log cabin — certainly appropriate for a restaurant called The Timbers. Bread Service The bread was homemade and had just been baked. Nicely airy and yeasty, but a bit dry. House Salad($ 2.49 with entrée The GF had a salad with her entrée and it had a nice array of ingredients. It came with homemade croutons and a sweet berry vinaigrette. Bistro Pasta($ 12.99) Penne, alfredo, cheddar, parmesan, topped with bread crumbs The GF’s main was essentially an alfredo mac n cheese. The top of the pasta achieved a nice crispy texture. The innards were incredibly creamy, with a nice array of juicy grilled chicken on top. This was mac n cheese on steroids and could have easily fed four. Prime Rib($ 21.99 Paul Bunyan Cut /$ 19.99 Timber Cut) I went with the Paul Bunyan cut of the prime rib, which was at least an inch thick. Unfortunately, the prime rib missed the mark for me. The beef was unfortunately much too chewy, indicative of being roasted for not much time at all. The au jus was definitely needed. The fries were crispy and creamy though and I was able to finish most of the GF’s pasta. Overall, The Timbers missed the mark for me. If the cuts of beef were better executed, I’m sure this would be a great place to get a nice steak or prime rib. The portions are certainly over the top, especially considering the pricing.
