Was looking forward to a great breakfast, only to have a terrible experience. The waitress set the table after we sat down, actually holding the forks by the tines. Gross! Bottom of the barrel coffee, so we had to stick to tap water. We inquired about several of the menu items and was assured that everything was homemade. I ordered an omelette and the guacamole was sour, rather than fresh. The salsa was awful — equivalent to ketchup, and appeared to be canned. The hash browns were extremely salty. We also ordered the corned beef hash. The meat was in big chunks rather than shredded, and very strangely combined with frozen peas and kernel corn. No one ever came back to the table to see if we were satisfied, or needed anything else. It was also ridiculously expensive — $ 42 plus tip for 2 breakfast entrees and no drinks. Had we known, we would have driven the 50 miles to our destination with empty stomachs, and been much happier!

Tasty food. Great menu. Quick service. Good location. Would definitely go back but might consider other options first. Coffee wasn’t great and cleanliness was about a 3 of 5. I’m gonna say it’s reliably good… just not great. And, frankly, $ 28 for the egg special, a pancake, and coffee was a bit steep… even for Calistoga.

The breakfast I had here was almost comically bad. Truly the only decent thing was the OJ. I ordered a breakfast B.L.T. and there was nothing good about it. The hash browns were mushy, the bread wasn’t toasted, the eggs were overcooked, the bacon flavorless. Flavorless bacon you say? You heard correct, how that is possible I have no clue. The pickle was soggy and disgusting. My wife’s dish was equally horrible with undercooked eggs and totally flavorless sausage. Truly the worst meal of my life. The worst part about this all it is was fucking expensive. Should have looked at Unilocal first :(

Café Sarafornia celebrates Calistoga’s founder Sam Brannan’s words of calling the town«the Sarafornia of Calistoga», confusing Calistoga, California, and Saratoga in upstate New York. It’s a whimsical diner with fun décor like Christmas ornaments, mini hot air balloons, a Red Sox pennant, and posters of various wineries. The prices are reasonable, considering the hearty amount of food. They’ve improved significantly since I last came. Their Palisades omelette, in honor of the volcanic formations on the east side of town, is a delicious blend of cheese, mushrooms&green chile topped with salsa, sour cream&guacamole. The hash browns&the raisin toast are just right. It’s a substantial breakfast. The service was quick&friendly, and the atmosphere has an amiable vibe. While the original«Sideways» with Paul Giamatti, Thomas Haden Church&Virginia Madsen was filmed in the Santa Barbara area, the Japanese remake used Café Sarafornia. Café Sarafornia has a regional flavor… and it’s delicious!

I was looking for a local diner and I happen to just drive past it on my way out of town. The sign said«breakfast served all day.» Wow! The orange butter and maple syrup is delicious and the bacon was crisp but chewy. I will definitely be recommending this to other friends!

Pretty average breakfast place. Beat the crowd glad I didn’t have to wait as others did by the time we were leaving. Seating is very tight and some tables very awkward. Wanted the huevos rancheros but there was no meat in it so had an Italian sausage, spinach, mushroom and cheese scramble and it was OK nothing special would be better with ham or a breakfast sausage. Has browns were average. Coffee was decent but forgettable. Wife had corned beef and hash and enjoyed it. Service was pretty good albeit the older waitress didn’t seem that happy never a smile and was pretty curt but efficient. Not likely to return will try another breakfast spot next time in town nothing wowed me here enough to want to return.

The food here is pretty darned good. The coffee is also very tasty and they have a full espresso bar to whip out the mochas and other espresso drinks you may crave. The ambiance is nice and the feel of the entire place is very relaxing. The service has a lot of room for improvement though, outlet waitress was a little hostile and inattentive to our needs. Overall I would eat here again however I hope we are given a different waitress. FYI this is the second time that we have had the same waitress.

Pretty good. 41 bucks for breakfast for 2 is a bit much for what we got. I got a scramble and she got an omelet neither was impressive. Just ok. Coffee was good. It’s rather crowded inside also. Service was rushed.

Funky vibe and ok food. Wish the service was better. Servers looked a bit«put out» — no eye contact and sour faces. Not sure why…

Always a good breakfast in Calistoga. Not cheap but I’ve never left hungry. Palisades omelette with green chilies, guac, mushrooms and sour cream was delicious. Fresh juices and good coffee. Breakfast done!

As a small town girl that now lives in the big city, this place struck a chord with me as a genuine small town spot. Solid food(I had the Sarafornia muffin with veggie sausages, and it was filling and delicious. Lovely waitress, great local gossip, and relaxed environment.

Came here on a Sunday morning and got seated right away. We both got a breakfast burrito and it was pretty standard for a breakfast burrito. I do think the portions are not as generous as other breakfast places for the price. However, they did have excellent service, we were seated inside but saw that there were spots outside and our server was kind enough to let us move even though we had already ordered. She was attentive and kind.

This was an okay place to stop for breakfast food in the afternoon. We were seated quickly. We ordered and had our food within 10 minutes. The french toast was wonderful! The bread was thick and yummy! They added a different syrup to it. The pork sausage was just okay. My husband loved his pancakes. The bacon was just okay. My coffee didn’t taste that great. It was delivered with lipstick already on the mug :( They do not take American Express, but they do give the military discount. We appreciated that I lot. Would I return? I’m not sure yet.

Food was fantastic and there were a lot of veggie options !! Patty(I think that was her name) was our waitress and she was super attentive. My boyfriend is really indecisive so she was very helpful in helping him decide his dish.

Adrobs. Cute breakfast joint. Nice staff. Food was okay. Not as succulent as I had thought for being located in the heart of art, wine and food. Hence the minus stars. Prices range from $ 9 – 15 for a plate. Welcome to Callistoga. Hit the spot and glad we tried it. My favorite thing about Café Sarafornia, is the vibe and décor. Totally that old fashion diner. Looked like some of the locals came here to get their cup of joe on.
