Best Haitian food I have had since my boo mother’s cooking. Lots of food for $ 10. Really liked the diri djon djon(black rice) and the pikliz. Will be back for some tassot, poule and sos pois.

A friend of a friend told me that Creole Buffet is open as of today! My mother bought some boulette(haitian juicy meatballs). I’m so happy because the Creole Buffet in Rosedale was depressing. Now I can have my rice and red beans with boulette, fried plantains, legume and macaroni au gratin for $ 7.00.(Starts dancing) Keywords For Haitian Food Virgins: Boulette(Haitian Spicy Meatballs) Dire Noir(Black Rice) Dire avek paws rouge(Rice and Red Beans) Griot(Fried Pork) Banan(Green Plantains) Legumes(Vegetables) All dat, all dat…

Their customer service is just like all the Haitian Restaurant … RUDE! Sorry to say but it’s a culture thing. HOWEVER the food is really good. I was surprised to see this placed closed. Does anyone know why? If you are looking, they have another location on Jamaica &215 … they must have nothing but haitian grandmothers in that kitchen bcuz the food is so awesome

I ordered chicken and fried plantains. I also had fish and fried plantains. It was the nastiest food. It was my first time. The lady that was putting my food in a plate was talking on it. The chicken was dry and it tasted like it was spoiled. We had to throw everything away. I can understand they don’t have customer but at least the food could taste better. First and last time.

They serve good food but there level of customer service is horrible. My best friend referred me to this place. At the time a small plate was $ 5. I go back there 2 weeks later and they charge me $ 9 for a small and the Board clearly states $ 5 for a small. When I asked one of the ladies to take a look at the board up top she tells me that there are not any more small dishes for $ 5 but then when customers walk in and speak Creole she charges them $ 5. Secondly there are way too many people behind the counter hanging out eating drinking whatever. Instead of helping the overflow of customers so that service can go faster and smoother people are hanging out behind counter tops. The ladies are excessively rude as if you owe them something and if you are a male and you bring female friends and the ladies have an eye for you forget about it your order not only will be messed up but they will charge you the highest amount possible if they can.

The staff is rude and slow. There are too many employees idling behind the counter. I dont understand what the hold up is. The packaging needs work, esp when the dishes serve have potential to make a huge mess. When I asked for a 2nd plastic bag, the cashier gave me the ‘look of death’ and didnt want to help me bag my order. The black rice(diri djon djon) and conch(lambi) is good and reasonably priced. The stew goat(cabrit en sauce) is good too. The bulgur wheat selection(ble) makes this resto stand out from the rest. I almost NEVER see ble served at restos. Yay to healthier alternatives!

I’ve eaten there twice and both times I was dissapointed… the rice was bad, the meatballs yuck, they mix the lumbi and griot spoons, which is bad because if someone is allergic to shellfish they could sick

Delicious Haitian food. They only have a few of the menu items on a given day, so make sure they have what you want when you want to go. I wanted to try the griot and kala loo, but they didn’t have it. So I got the legume, which was really good. Oh, and the Haitian-style meatballs(I forget the kreyol name) are really awesome.

Umm $ 5 for Griot and plantains — yes please! My cousin introduced me to this place(was the old Crown Fried Chicken in Cambria Heights) and I enjoyed it. Its across the street from Farmbria, which means that finding parking can be an issue. Food was cheap and good. They even have a seating area, which most Haitian restaurants don’t. Its a very casual envirnonment. Its set up buffet style, so you walk in see what is available that day and order from there. From what I saw eveything is available everyday. They even had du ri a djon djon — Haitian black rice– and it was a Saturday. Most places reserve it for Sunday only. The space was clean and they speak both Creole and English fluently. As for food options the day I went they had: Haitian meatballs, Legume, Poisson Grois Sel, Macaronni, Du ri a djon djon(black rice), fried turkey, Du ri a pois(rice and beans), and red snapper in sauce. There were many other items, I just don’t remember, lol The $ 5 /$ 6 plates are for most items!!! Legume(mixed vegetable stew), chicken in sauce, griot, turkey, etc. They also have about 3 other locations(its a Haitian chain restaurant, lol!) I will definitley be back if I’m in the area!
