The onion soup is delicious, the fries are great, but I did not like the prime rib on a croissant. The meat didn’t taste fresh and there was a lot of fat.

Amuse is the ground floor restaurant of Le Meridien Cambridge-MIT with street views; our experience was really only 2.5 stars, but in the spirit of the season I’ll round up! We went down for breakfast yesterday because it was included in our rate and apparently interrupted a manager who was busy conversing with a construction worker who subsequently proceeded to go back and forth through the dining room several times without regard to breakfast being served. After waiting in our seats in the near empty space eventually a server brought coffee, and although our rate included the breakfast buffet we were in fact never even offered menus in the event that we perhaps wished to order other items as well. The buffet itself included eggs made to order as well as chaffing dishes with dried-out meats and potatoes, fresh fruit, smoked salmon(which had clearly been cut on another date and not well preserved as it was somewhat dried out as well), yogurt, cereals and a limited number of baked items. We returned from having helped ourselves to another round of mini-croissant(there were no full size ones nor any pain au chocolat) to find that despite being one of only three tables dining none of the half dozen staff on duty had cleared our used plates. Amuse appears to be a work in progress; one hopes it will improve.
