Small, dingy, poorly lit, bad selection of beer & wine. NOLIQUORSOLDHERE! A paltry selection of beer & wine as well as other convenience items are sold here. I was disappointed they didn’t sell liquor, but I was able to grab an overpriced 6-pack of Pabst here. It was a few blocks from my hotel, so it fit the bill in sleepy Cambridge. Cash only. Closes at 9pm.

Horrible place. High prices, bad selection, poor to no customer service, and I’ve now had two experiences where the shopkeeper has tried to significantly overcharge me for items. Also, randomly closed so you never know if it’ll be open. Of course they don’t take credit cards either. Avoid at all costs unless strictly necessary(like in a blizzard or something).

You’re definitely paying for convenience when you shop at the First United Market. Small selection = high prices. But with cold-ass winters, who wants to trek to a liquor store when you can buy some brewski’s a few blocks down the street? $ 7 for a sixer of Miller Lite bottles. They also sell CASES of 40’s. Reminds me of college when a roommate of mine bought 2 cases of Olde English 40’s. Boy did we have a fun couple nights. Anywhoo. I also got a bottle of ketchup here for 3 friggin dollars. But what was i to do?! I HADMOUTHSTOFEED! *ahem* You can get your scratch tix and lung darts here as well.

Booze? Really? For a small local corner-shop I don’t know how they managed to get a liquor license. Surely they had to wait for Massachusetts to wake up and finally vote yes on that one. But no somehow they do have booze and that’s a big deal if they’re very local. The shop isn’t upto much inside and the range is bordering on terrible but what do you expect? It’s basically a local family-run shop and with pleasant staff who spend their time watching asian soap-operas which look quite interesting.

Closest market to my current living location. Nothing too special though. Has a very dark presentation to the street with virtually no windows and a huge budweiser sign.
