This place is awful. The guy who washes your hair doesn’t speak English at all, so expect him to scald you with hot water and rip your hair out. The only reason I’m even giving the place 1 star is because the woman was really nice, but she did the worst blow-out I’ve ever had in my life. By the time I got home my hair was flat, completely straight, and all sorts of frizzy. Not to mention it too over an hour just to get my hair washed and blown dry. Biggest waste of money I’ve ever spent

Ysabella is so incredible. I recently moved and was very nervous to find a new stylist. I actually found the salon through a Living Social deal. I was hesitant at first but after reading all of the reviews I had no doubt she knew what she was doing. I have wavy, thick hair and she talked me through the cut and the way she wanted to even it out. She did FANTASTIC. No one has even been able to handle my hair so well. She evened out the volume and put in flattering layers. Cannot wait to go back!

Best place to have a Brazilian. I have tried multiple salons around the city and this is by far the best.

Ysabella is amazing. Just awesome. Love her personality, and she’s fantastic at what I come here for: hair removal. Well priced salon in the heart of Inman Square. Definitely recommend.

Michael is fantastic! I’ve gone to him for about a year, and love my hair cut. I’m low maintenance, and he gets that. I haven’t dyed my hair in 3 years, but I recently went in and wanted to go lighter. He lightened my hair with balayage technique and it looks phenomenal! I’m so happy with it, and the color will last awhile which is great for my super low maintenance hair. Michael is honest and said I can come back in 12 weeks, I appreciate that a few extra weeks saves me money. He’s also really easy to sit with for 2 – 3 hours!

I walked in off the street while visiting Cambridge and desperate for a haircut and Bianca was amazing. I normally go to a high-end hairdresser at home and her work was every bit as good — and she was fun too!

My experience with the salon didn’t go that well. I got my waxing done and ended up getting my skin waxed off from my chin. Ughhhh Earlier I thought it is the redness from waxing but no that’s not the case. It was really bad and I felt burning for a couple off days. Though Isabella tried putting up soothing it didn’t work. I was going on a trip and ended up having a bad one even though I tried to hide it up from the concealer the salon gave me afterwards.

I had a pixie for many years and a hairdresser I liked for that cut, but when I decided to grow it out I wanted to find someone better suited for medium/long hair. I tried Michael and he was fantastic. I really appreciated that he took the time to talk to me about how to care for my hair and make sure it looked and felt healthy. He’s warm and inviting without being overbearing, and my haircuts look great for months after seeing him. I decided to try an ombré like Khloe Kardashian. I haven’t dyed my hair in over 10 years so I was nervous and unsure what to expect, but with a quick glance at some pictures I showed him, Michael was confident and gave me exactly what I wanted.

LOVELOVELOVE them! I had my hair destroyed by another salon, and Jonathan fixed me right up. I did not think I was ever going to be able to trust another hair salon again, I do. Love them!

I had a living social coupon, which makes me nervous when it comes to haircuts, because the stylists sometimes don’t do their best work, but not here! Jonathan was amazing! I got a haircut and demi-permanent hair color and he did a beautiful job! His styling chops are fantastic(yeah, little pun intended) and the color left my hair silky, soft and shiny. The location is really convenient, right in Inman Square, on several bus routes from Central Square, Harvard Square and Sullivan Station. The background music was really cool too Very, very happy!

Loving my new hair cut. Micheal is a great stylist. He took the time to discuss what I was looking for and gave me exactly what I wanted! Highly recommended

Ysabella, who owns the salon, is a DELIGHT. She has been doing my eyebrows for 3 years and is just wonderful. Careful, quick, friendly, amazingly precise work, remembers every conversation we’ve ever had. I can’t recommend her brow-work highly enough, and the price is great(ask for the $ 10/month deal for unlimited brow waxes) Also: I recently had a haircut with the wonderful Michael and I am in haircut heaven! It’s my favorite cut I’ve had in years. I have long thick hair and he did the best job ever. He is super talented, professional, listened to exactly what I wanted, kind, funny– I honestly can’t wait for my next cut with him. A gem! Love this place, their great work and warm vibe. Well worth an adventure to adorable Inman Square.

I purchased a Living Social deal for a haircut at Salon Bellissima last week. I called to make an appointment immediately after purchasing and they were able to fit me in at a time I requested. I am not a high maintenance person when it comes to hair, but I like the stylist to be receptive and communicative to my requests. I wanted to keep my hair long with layers and add a little spice with some new bangs. Jonathan(my stylist) and I were on the same page and it turned out great. He was awesome company, we had fruitful conversation about all sorts of things, and I love my haircut! The salon itself is very cute, clean and well decorated. It also happens to be conveniently located 10 minutes from my house. I highly recommend both Jonathan and Salon Bellissima to anyone interested in a great hair experience in a comfortable setting.

I scheduled a brazilian and haircut with Ysabella based on the Unilocal reviews. First we did the brazilian, which in hindsight should’ve made me re-think the haircut. I won’t go into detail, for obvious reasons, but it was painful and basically just broke my hair off. I have been to several good waxers, they go slowly, in smaller strips and pull your skin taut to make sure it is as painless as possible. Ysabella is not a good waxer. Then I told her I wanted to donate 8 inches to Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths. She had me put my hair in a ponytail and then she cut. Well turns out she cut off 14 inches. I was devastated. I have donated hair 4 times, so I know the protocol. She tried to say they don’t count the last inch or the ponytail — which even if that were true, she still cut 4 inches too many. This was a completely terrible experience. I trusted Ysabella but she did not listen to what I asked for. Luckily someone else will benefit from the hair — which is wonderful! When I called back today, Ysabella argued that she had been doing this for years and that she knew what was needed to donate. This is infuriating because she is clearly not aware of Patene’s Beautiful Lengths. She did offer me a refund on the haircut — which I guess is a nice gesture.

I’ve waxed my leg and bikini line for ages — since high school, which was longer ago than I’d like to admit — and have never encountered an esthetician as great as Ysabella. About a year ago, I moved to Cambridge, and had some trouble finding a place/waxer who was as good as my people in New York. For awhile, I went to Pyara, but the woman I saw there kept breaking the hairs off my lower leg, so I may as well have shaved. And for the New York-style prices, this really began to grate on me. I walk by Salon Bellissima all the time and before a trip to the Cape, looked them up on Unilocal.Calling to schedule and appointment was about a hundred times easier than at Pyara, where they’re always booked, and you’re endlessly put on hold; and Ysabella was as amazing as everyone here has said. The waxing was painless and perfect — perfect. Not a hair broken off, no redness(and I have very fair, sensitive skin), lasted for a month before I saw anything growing in. Amazing. Also, Ysabella herself is warm, funny, sweet, and a great conversationalist. The waxing seemed to take five seconds, because we were chatting so easily. I didn’t of course, get my hair done, but, firstly, I saw three people finish up following cuts and color, and they all looked amazing. Really fantastic, glossy, bouncy blowouts, and beautiful, shiny color. One girl, in particular, had a whole head of blonde highlights put in, and it turned out better than much of the color I’ve seen at my own, much more upscale Newbury Street salon, which is famous for its blondes. I’m seriously considering trying them for color, as these ladies looked fantastic.(The cuts were very on-trend, too, more so than the other salons I’ve tried here.)

Just went in yesterday for an appointment with Maria Ysabella Pego-Bronski aka Ysabella. Prices are among the best I’ve found in the Somerville/Cambridge area, the front desk staff and salon professionals are very friendly, and the place is modern and super clean; when a beauty utensil fell on the floor, Ysabella was quick to disinfect it with a cotton pad dipped in rubbing alcohol. Between talking about the investing environment in Brazil and tending to me, Ysabella made for a great experience, and time flew by! It’s the first time I has been there for an appointment in a while as I’m super busy but am looking forward to coming back again!

Ysabella is amazing. I’ve been getting waxed for years, and never quite satisfied with it.(Dark brown hair, thick eyebrows.) And Ysabella is amazing and does such a perfect job shaping them. And it doesn’t even hurt. The place is clean and friendly.

This is definitely a posotive, but somewhat mixed-review type place. Pros: It’s clean. The reception guy is very friendly. Prices are pretty low. Great coloring. My stylist was awesome at explaining where she was going to cut, why and how much(after my knee-jerk reaction of telling her how much I love my hair and not to cut too much off :)) My hair felt amazing to the touch after I left the salon. Cons: You might feel talked about if you don’t speak Portuguese. If you have a side-part, even if you come in with it, tell them before they cut it that you have a deep part, because my hair is a little lopsided. Scheduling can be miscommunicated. I read this from another review and it happened to me; say out loud what you are having done to your stylist when it’s your turn. So just make sure you’re clear and you’ll love it!
