The coffee and espresso drinks are always really excellent. And I don’t know who makes their tea bread, but it is so freaking good. The only issue is that staff can be up and down. Sometimes they’re friendly, sometimes they’re not, but it’s not so bad that it’s totally off-putting.

Even though I usually don’t like to drink coffee, I love their coffee. I tried the mocha coffee and it’s really smooth. I like the coffee art too. The atmosphere is good. The staff are very nice and friendly. I will definitely go back for more!

Simon’s is a bit tucked away on Mass Ave, but I think it’s the best coffee in the area. They have delicious pastries and sandwiches, too, and even have several vegan/dairy free options. I love this spot.

Simon’s makes the best café latte in Cambridge hands down. Very good food as well. The only thing I wish were different were the shape of their coffee mugs for use in the shop. I find they spill very easily and so I want a to go cup when working on my laptop, but I feel bad about my environmental footprint. The wide surface area of these cups also makes the coffee get cold quickly which is non-ideal for slow drinkers. But NON of the above should stop you from trying this place. The coffee is amaxing.

Simon’s isn’t cutting any corners with the beans, it appears as if they use a selection of local roasters(George Howell, Barismo) that make excellent beans. The inside is typical of older Cambridge coffee shops(I’m guessing Simon’s has been here since the 90’s), it’s narrow and kind of cramped with some art on the walls. It’s not at all trendy like some of the newer places, but the coffee is still good. It’s nice to see that they have some food options as I’ve noticed a lot of newer spots are solely dedicated to coffee(or even just pour overs). While Simon’s doesn’t make as nice of a drink as some of the cutting edge places around here, its still a great coffee shop that has something to satisfy just about anyone.

Love. Love. Love. If there was ever something on my hunt for a great independent coffee shop mimicking my beloved Spikes Coffee in San Francisco; I would say Simon’s is it’s east coast doppelgänger. It is unfortunately not a couple blocks from home like Spikes was once; it’s a trek to get from the South End into the further reach of Cambridge to adore a cup from here. But the couple times I have been able to venture has always been great.

My partner and I popped in real quick. The space is more of a hallway than a room per se and a tad dark, but it’s pleasant. I had an iced honey latte and my partner had a drip coffee, which he said he liked. I was pretty impressed with mine; I don’t usually expect much from an iced latte and this one was worth a second trip. It’s got a nice flavour from the honey but is also not too sweet. Goes really well with a bagel from Bagelsaurus down the street! The staff seem a bit overworked, but they’re polite and helpful. Wifi is paid, because you sometimes have to pay for things at businesses, especially if they’re trying to avoid people camping out with their laptops and not buying anything, which they are, because the space is so small. If you want to take up space for hours and not buy anything, Starbucks is a few doors down.

Coffee is great, but the waitress with the tattoo has a terrible attitude that made me just feel so uneasy. Also no credit card for anything under $ 5

No internet= sad me But actually no matter how good the coffee is what the hell kind of a café doesn’t have internet? I didn’t do any work today and it is your fault. You have to pay $ 4 an HOUR for internet. What the fuck. Karl Marx would be pissed and so am I

Get the iced honey latte. The service wasn’t the friendliest and it was kind of small but it’s a good alternative if you want to quick bite to eat.

No doubt this is 5-Star coffee experience. However, the staff is so rude and arrogant it completely ruins the experience. In particular, the woman with the pixie cut and the tattoos jut couldn’t be bothered to display any sense of humanity or general politeness. i wish Simon would hire people who are both super in to coffee and actually nice. Those people do exist! it’s really unfortunate. The espresso program is awesome but it’s hard to part with $ 5 /day when you know you’ll be met with a bad attitude.

This is a chill coffee shop. Lots of locals. The baristas are super nice. They made me a tea latte even though it’s not on the menu. Seating is tough, but I was able to snag a spot. The food looks great. I’ll have to try it next time. I would definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in Somerville.

I agree with one of the previous posters that the service is obnoxious. Yes, some of the baristas are totally friendly. But most of them suck: dismissive, irritated and pretentiously cool in a way that seems kind of sad. The one who took my order today only had to make eye contact to get a tip, but apparently that was too much to ask. Hey Simon’s, I notice you NEVER respond to these reviews. Do you read them? Might be helpful since the negative ones are almost exclusively about your super crappy service. Your coffee is awesome, so why not elevate your service?

This is a hipster hell hole. With delicious, DELICIOUS scones. If you can look past the draftiness, and the tables meant for one but with two chairs squeezed in, then go for a tasty beverage and pastry. Getting something to go seems like a more reasonable option in my book after spending a chilly, rainy afternoon here. Also with what I can only describe as club music. I get it, you don’t want people laying about not ordering things, the no wifi, the terrible, terrible music(an opinion that at least one of the two workers seemed to agree with because she kept turning it off), all point to DON’T STAY. But yet, a determined cadre of laptop junkies seem to enjoy the spot. I’ll come back for a scone. To go.

Came here in the late morning(around 10a or so) on a Friday and it was a full house. Long line but we were quickly served too. My friend ordered a bagel and I ordered a Mexican hot chocolate. Many people had stated and they are right for one thing about the Mexican hot chocolate — spicy but to me, it’s not hot/spicy but it’s more like they put in alot of cinnamon in it. It’s not bad. Definitely different from the usual hot chocolate I have had.

Great little café with good coffee and a nice whole bean bag selection at the front of the shop. Most of the bags have been roasted within 10 days and have 3 to 4 smaller roasters stocked. They don’t have free wifi so don’t plan on camping out for the afternoon on your devices unless you plan to pay for it. The staff could be a bit more friendly and engaging with the patrons because they seem very knowledgeable. As of now the biggest conversation I’ve had is there is a $ 5 credit card minimum which is always annoying especially since they are using a system that is a flat percentage and no swipe fee. Overall great coffee and good whole bean selection but the staff could be friendlier.

Best honey almond milk latte I’ve ever had. Perfectly sweet and creamy. It was honestly one of the best lattes I’ve ever had. They also had a nice selection of baked goods. I tried the pumpkin bread and it was quite good — not the best I’ve ever had but it was OK. Will definitely go back for another latte!

I’m a tourist from NYC, so I had a good amount of coffee that’s NOT Starpoops. Well, the shop is quite nice, big, and old school. The people that came here seemed like locals, students and teachers. I saw tons of people reading. So intellectual this city is, people in NYC are… Reading too, their phones tho, these people were reading books. BOOKS I SAY! Ok, I had an espresso, my girlfriend had iced latte. Their coffee is pretty legit and the prices are pretty low. I usually pay more than 10 dollars when I go to get coffee with my geisha girlfriend but damn… The bill was 6 dollars plus tips 8. THATSPRETTYDAMNLOW. One thing I like about Boston or Cambridge… Is the prices. Well, the coffee was really good, I liked it a lot, very dark espresso with a chocolaty after taste. I would come back. Keep up the good job!

If you’re looking for a coffee shop near Harvard other than Starbucks – this is your place. It’s particularly cozy – with a few tables lined up against the wall opposite of the counter. I tried their matcha latte which was solid – it would have been nice if there was some latte art included. It did take a while for my order to arrive – approximately 5 minutes though there were a couple of people ahead of me. Price was typical of a normal coffee shop – ranging from 2 – 5 dollars depending on the drink and size you order.

Simple and good quality place. Iced honey latte is recommended. And so is the mozzarella tomato sandwich– Fresh stuff and comes smeared with the best tasting pesto sauce I’ve ever had. To give and idea of the size of this place — there’s about 92-person tables, 4 – 6 single person spots. Some outdoor seating as well(4 – 6). All in all nice chill place on Mass Ave to get your cup of joes.

Great latte and really good mozzarella sandwich! The service was good and really fast, the only thing I didn’t like is the décor/ambiance, this place is kinda meh. I know it seems silly but I really care about the soundtrack, décor and overall ambiance of coffee shops. There’s also a good pastry selection! Lemon poppy seed cake looks wonderful!

The place to go if you’re looking to be corrected in your pronunciation while placing a simple order for a cup of coffee. The coffee itself was good, but hardly an elevated taste experience. To be fair, I ordered it to go, and a paper cup isn’t the ideal vessel. I don’t recommend going out of your way to try Simon’s, but if you’re in the area and do stop in, make sure you have your pronunciation guide handy… and perhaps a copy of Miss Manners for the dude at the register.

I came here on a Saturday morning. My mocha was delicious, but the worker at the cashier wasn’t very friendly. No eye contact, had trouble running my card and made a remark under her breath about how annoying it is when customers don’t pay with cash, and wasn’t friendly when I asked a question about one of the drink specials(she answered my question and didn’t say anything bad, but zero smile, I felt like I was bugging her). Also it was really hot inside… I had planned to study there for a bit, but it was uncomfortably warm. I said something to the barista but he ignored me.

Simon’s is an artsy-divey coffee shop on Mass Ave. Very Cambervillian. The coffee is great(George Howell and Barismo) and the scones are even greater! I didn’t think I liked scones until I went to Simon’s, but they converted me. The blueberry is my fave. I haven’t ventured to try their marked-down day old pastries only because I know the fresh ones are so good! There is fairly limited seating and tables will only seat up to two people, so don’t go with a group(even 3 would be difficult). I LOVE this place for the food and coffee, loses one star for the lack of seating and(to me) unpleasant rock music. Definitely not someplace I would be able to read a book or get work done, but it is a fun and tasty spot to stop with a friend.
