We stayed on the first floor. The room is somewhat outdated but the front desk is lovely and the location of the Inn is amazing. Love the town… but for the $ 200 price tag I expect nicer furniture, carpeting, tile work, etc.

This place is great. It’s a small, boutique hotel that has a firepit, jacuzzi and pool. It has cookies and cider when you check in. The innkeepers are friendly and chatty. It’s a classic spot to get away from the city and see Maine. I come here every year. It’s a bit pricey, but if you stay in the River House, the rooms are apartment-style with a small living room, separate bedroom, and a tiny in-suite kitchen. I’d highly recommend it.

Stayed here as part of a wedding party. A really great place to have everyone sleep. Everyone says it’s no frills but… the bed was great, the room was clean with everything I needed and I slept right over a river! I guess it’s part of an old mill and they use to use the water for production… there’s even a central meeting room in the lobby with a large table, comfy chairs, coffee. And it’s in the same«complex» as a great bagel spot and the salon… got a pedicure before the wedding! I’ve stayed at the wedding group rate places before and this was far and above the rest. And about 100 dollars cheaper than any other place and it was right in downtown– didn’t need a car!

Stayed in the off season — more than reasonable rates — spacious and very clean room– location is perfect — just off the main Camden drag — walking distance to everything, friendly staff. Highly recommend if you want no frills, clean comfortable place to rest in town.

We just spent 2 nights here, July 4th&5th … and rooms clean, but not much personality. We liked short walk to town but didn’t find people working here very friendly & got annoyed when 20 minutes after we checked out, had to go elsewhere to find a bathroom. Definitely won’t stay here again.

I didn’t even end up staying here but the staff was EXCELLENT! I was recently on a trip to Acadia by myself and had to stop off in Camden. It was lobster fest weekend(which i didn’t know) and the Inn was completely full. The receptionist at the desk was SO nice. She called around to every Inn in the area looking for any vacancy. She even tried surrounding towns. Eventually she found me a room next door in another Inn AND she got me a discount! The location is fantastic. Right in the middle of town and across the street from a great restaurant/bar 40 Paper. Everything in town is seconds away walking distance. No need to drive anywhere once you’re there. The town is lovely and I met a lot of great locals. Thanks again to the young lady at the desk! You really saved my night!

Nice location, close walking distance to town. No breakfast despite high rate. Generally clean well appointed room however several spiders found lurking. Very nice front desk staff however did not know how to use credit card machine because not well trained. Probably a better deal can be found elsewhere in town.

This is no four star hotel but it is a nice place to stay. We had two different rooms. Our first room was an efficiency type of suite on the back of the building. It was one room with two sections, the sleeping area and the seating area. It was nice and comfortable, unfortunately the balcony was on the roof of part of the lower hotel and it shared space with a lot of noisy air conditioning units. The bathroom while large was also very tight. Our second room was on the third floor on the front of the building. The room was a lot smaller but we had a great recessed balcony that had partial water views. The bathroom was minuscule with no place to put you toiletries. The staff was schizophrenic. Some were clueless and some were extremely helpful. The place could use a good freshening-up. The location is great and despite the second room overlooking US1 the noise was not a problem. In fact the traffic and people watching were great.

The Inn at Camden Place is a bit of a hybrid inn-boutique hotel. It’s a very basic inn, without all the amenities of a hotel or bed and breakfast, but still had a small, charming feeling. We enjoyed chatting with the inn keeper, Judy, and didn’t have any problems, despite the desk only being staffed from 8am-8pm. Our room was up a flight of stairs, which didn’t both us, although we did have to carry our own luggage up and down. Our room, #6, was quite large, which was great since we stayed there for a few days. It had a large king size bed, a TV, two comfortable chairs, an ottoman, and a desk(with no chair at it — which is odd!). The bathroom was small, but fine for our needs. Our room overlooked the parking lot, and we could hear the sound of rushing water throughout the night coming from outside, but it didn’t keep us awake. Housekeeping didn’t service our room one day, for some reason, but Judy took the time to freshen things up for us. We enjoyed the 24 hour access to filtered water and coffee that the inn provided. It’s too bad they don’t offer breakfast vouchers for Camden Bagel any more — that really would have helped make the price seem like a better value. The common area was nice, and they let us store our rented bikes in there. I got the feeling that we were on the younger end of folks who normally stay there, but the central location couldn’t be beat. With our expectations set at the right level, we’d consider the Inn at Camden Place if we want a basic accommodations in Camden again.

4.5 stars… I love this place! I booked 2 nights at the Inn through Priceline, although I didn’t have the option to name my own price I still got their standard room for half off! The standard rooms are currently about $ 190/night. The Inn is in the heart of Camden and is just a short walk from anything you’d want to do in this beautiful town. Type of accommodations like Hotels, Motels, B&B’s are standard in knowing what you’re getting but saying Inn is more vague and can really vary. The inn at Camden Place was the absolute perfect middle ground between a B&B and a Hotel. The room was the most beautiful and comfortable room/bed I have ever had. I feel asleep before my head even hit the pillow. Even though this was just their standard room it had plenty of elbow room and the bathroom was nice too(though a bit on the smaller side with a slightly narrow shower/tub). The place was immaculately clean and I really felt at home. The hotel aspect came from the heavy more secure doors, the big hotel-ish floor air conditioning unit, the more hands-off approach to the Inn keeper, and the lack of a real breakfast(though they give you a voucher for the Bagel Café next door which has lots of bagels, muffins, and drinks for you to choose from). My only criticism is the rushing water outside the Inn, though it is a charming part of Camden, is a bit loud even with the windows closed. This actually didn’t bother me because I live a block from the highway in NYC but if you wanted absolute silence you might be bothered by something that sounds like a fan going on throughout the night. The other thing is that the Inn keeper claimed she would have red and white wine available to us(for free) in the kitchen/office area but there was never any white in the fridge. I wasn’t counting on it so it wasn’t that big of a deal. They did have an awesome coffee machine with all the coffee/tea/hot chocolate you wanted available though which was a nice little touch. Overall it was a gorgeous and comfortable room with attention paid to every detail and I would love to come back and stay here again.

We booked the Inn over the phone with JP who also checked us in. He was helpful & friendly. The Inn is in a great location, just behind the main strip of town. The rate was very reasonable especially since a lot of places in the area seem to range $ 300& up a night. We got a great rate, the 2nd night was half off, AND breakfast was included. They gave you a certificate which was good for breakfast at the local bagel joint next door. Our room was spacious with 2 queen beds and a sitting area. It was nicely decorated. The beds were cozy with down comforters and they came in handy! It was actually pretty cold at night even in July! The Inn was small, quiet, and very clean. Would love to go back.
