Dr Barnes is one of the best vets I have ever gone to. My previous vet had recommended surgery for my dog, Kia, but wanted to send me to the VCA hospital in Sacramento to have it done. I checked what it would have cost me there, and was shocked, so I went to Dr. Barnes for a second opinion. He did the surgery for much less and was very knowledgeable, explained things well, and had the best interest of Kia in mind. I have switched Dr. Barnes as my full time vet now and couldn’t be happier.

This is the same DVM as in Goldorado Animal Hospital at the same address. PLEASE see the long list of negative reviews listed in Unilocal under Golderado… for your pet’s sake! Caveat emptor.

If you are seeking a caring veterinarian and staff then by all means give Dr. David Barnes at Goldorado Animal Hospital in Cameron Park a try. He has been caring lovingly for our dogs for over twenty years and took superb care of our chihuahua Trudy for almost ten years before we had to say goodbye to her. Now he and his staff care for Bella, our snoodle, and she loves to go there every month for her «grooming». Dr. Barnes is a caring, honest doctor who will treat you and your pet well. Is it expensive. You bet. But you get exactly what you pay for. If you want your pet to be healthy and happy then you treat that pet as you would your dearest child. Medical care, whether it be for humans or for pets, is not cheap. You wouldn’t expect your personal doctor to be a «cut rate» doctor who was not acutely aware of your health status and be willing to do anything to insure that you were comfortable and healthy. Dr. Barnes is personable and you can tell from the onset that he treats each and every pet under his care with love and concern.
The office personnel have always been most accommodating and professional and the other veterinarians who work for Dr. Barnes show the same concern and interest as he does toward their charges. We are especially indebted to Chrissy, who has been grooming our Bella for the past year. She does an especially FINE job in spiffing her up and leaving her eyelashes long! What a great professional groomer!
If you are seeking a truly honest veterinarian in this area please take your cherished pet to Dr. Barnes. You will not be sorry. You will be glad that you entrusted your pet to his care.
