Fig Balsamic Caramel was a big hit with my better half. We ate with ice cream. Really yummy!

A very cool place with awesome gelatos. Quite creamy and flavorful. I am a coffee lover and their combination of expresso and gelato just made my day. And, they have some old-school board games that you can play while hanging out there.

Very creamy gelato, but didn’t really meet the flavor expectations in my opinion. I tried the Earl Grey and the Crème Fraiche with Chocolate Chips and Black Pepper. Earl Grey was decent, but the tea flavor was subtle at best. The Crème Fraiche definitely hit on that sour note, tasting almost like goat-cheese…but the Black Pepper didn’t show up at all! Had there been just a hint of spice, I think this flavor would be have been really good… despite leaning towards the savory side in terms of flavor. It was definitely a nice cooling treat after walking the street fair but it definitely wasn’t the best gelato I’ve had.

It’s quite hard to find this place since the sign name is quite small. Although the flavor is still awesome. I ordered medium choco hazelnut and espresso chip. The hazelnut and espresso flavor is powerful. Very good! :D

Gelato is good. Affogato even better. However, the chocolate bars are the best part. No soy is added to their chocolate bars — that is not the case for most chocolate bars. Pure, simple ingredients. I really like this place.

I’m updating my review with new information. It turns out we love Snake and Butterfly so much that we actually ended up buying a house just down the street literally just so we could be within walking distance! It’s an even cooler joint now because it has a table made out of a door and a bunch of other«quirky» shiz that really ties the place together. A lot of people come in for gelato, but they also have coffee drinks and a ton of specialty foods(like Snake and Butterfly chocolate, which they make in house!). While you’re there, don’t forget to order a «Big Mack” – banana gelato with banana on top! Oh, and make sure when you’re at the register that you ask«which of you is the snake and which is the butterfly» for a bona fide no-discount!

Heaven! I have been here at least 10x and I love their gelato! It is very fresh and flavorful. I have never tasted gelato as flavorful and creamy as the ones here! I have tried the chocolate hazelnut, fresh mint, cardamon orange, earl gray, coconut chip, etc. My favorite is ALWAYS the chocolate hazelnut. It tastes just like nutella! :) Anyways, this is my #1 place for gelato! Make sure to try it out. :)

Very yummy and tasty flavors! I ended up sampling and getting the vietnamese cinnamon and salted chocolate chip. The salted chocolate chip was recommended by the scooper. Very yummy and tasted just as it’s name. I regret not eating this before I ate the cinnamon scoop. I unfortunately ate all the cinnamon first then went on to the salted chocolate chip and it tasted very bland after compared to the latter, but still good none the less. :( My boyfriend got the irish coffee and tahitian vanilla. I sampled the irish coffee and boy, it has that baily’s irish cream kick. Not a bad thing, but it was strong. Again, our scooper recommended getting the tahitian vanilla with it to tone down the strong taste. It did that and it was a perfect combination! Service was super friendly and décor was something to check out. They also had chocolate bon bons~ Could be a nice gift for those chocolate lovers. I’d definitely come back to try the other gelato flavors.

This is by far my favorite coffee and chocolatier place in the South Bay. I just bought the Valentine’s Day package for my bae. I recommend the bourbon apricot truffle, the dark chocolate truffle, the raspberry truffle, and basically any truffle. The Vodun(coconut milk mocha) is to kill for. Their pour overs are devilishly good too, but you may have to wait for a bit. The décor is all over the place but relaxing and vintage. Staff is super friendly too! Good gelato for the kiddies.

Super cute and hipster ice cream shop in Campbell! They have a table made out of a door frame. Too cool. There’s also some games and a small arcade game on the side as well! The ice cream is delicious. My sister and I were super full from dinner so we ended up getting a kid sized cone(2.50) but. it was a giant scoop nonetheless. We tasted a couple of flavors before deciding on the Salted Caramel Chocolate. This flavor has bits of thin chocolate bits floating around! Super crunchy and adds great texture to the ice cream. The ice cream itself was just creamy goodness. I would totally come again :).

Hmmm, was expecting much better given the ratings. Stopped by for a quick stop this evening. The smell when I entered the store was amazing and I was thinking that I was in for a treat. Was unfortunately immediately turned off by the attitude of the waitress. I don’t need hugs and super friendly conversation but I expect the employee to not be grumpy and act like I am annoying them. That’s what I got today. I should have left right away but decided to get a cup of drinking chocolate which I love. It was meh, perhaps the attitude of the employee impacted how I perceived the drink.

The concept of customer service is lost in California. I don’t want someone to tell me how awesome I am or anything crazy. I just want normal service as a customer. For example, at Snake & Butterfly… they sell chocolates. I want to buy a couple of chocolates for someone and I say… «X doesn’t like caramel in chocolates/truffles» — I just expect that she would respond with, «Go with these other flavors that don’t have caramel in them» or something to that effect. Instead, I was stared at blankly with an «Okayyyyy.» It’s odd. It’s just odd. Either way, ended up buying a box of four. I think it was around $ 10. Then I bought a candle while waiting to get rung up which was around $ 20. Heard the chocolates were interesting and definitely not«generic Godiva» tasting. Maybe I’ll stop by for gelato in the summer.

This place is adorable! From the name to the charm inside, it feels like home. You walk in and are greeted by amazing truffles and gelato(flavors rotate). You’re handed samples in real metal teeny tiny spoons(to reduce waste). The gelato is some of the best I’ve ever had! The descriptions by employees are amazing(«it’s like if chocolate chip cookie dough and cheesecake had a baby»… SOLD!) Sit down amongst the crowd and grab a board game or a book off the shelf. Or try your hand at some old school pac man. They take cards which is nice. Some of my favorite gelato places don’t which is cumbersome. We’ll certainly be back next time we’re having lunch in downtown Campbell.

At first, Snake & Butterfly sounds like a really hip bar. Maybe even a pet store. You get your hopes up… but it turns out to be a gelato & coffee shop and that’s not disappointing at all! I love gelato and I love an intriguing store name as much as the next person :) Anyway. If you’re gonna have gelato in Campbell, you might as well have it here! I ordered a small lemon ricotta and it was delectable. A unique flavor that was done well, with just the right balance of sweetness and tart. The gelato was silky smooth and I finished it way too fast! I went on a Saturday afternoon and there were maybe 3 other groups in the store. There’s plenty of seating inside and out here. Overall, it’s a nice, charming spot to catch up with friends over a snack. They even offer a nice selection of books and games if you prefer to multi-task while enjoying your treat!

The atmosphere here is so vibrant and energizing! I love the decorations and colors. One wall has a shelf FULL of games– how cool and creative is that?! There is also a wall with merchandise that you can buy to take home or give as a gift. So thoughtful! We met the owner and her daughter during our visit. She gave us free samples of the ice cream and some of their homemade chocolate. Everything was soo good! Making a decision on ice cream was definitely difficult. All of the ice cream is made in SF and shipped here daily. Ice creams are served with eco-friendly cups/spoons– go green! You can dine in and play games and admire the artwork or head out onto the town and stroll around. Save room for their homemade chocolate truffles, or take a box home to your lover! There are other locations for Lush ice cream(which is served here) in Oakland and SF.

My friends and I wanted to grab some dessert after dinner and thought we’d try this place out after some Unilocaling. It’s right down the street from where we had dinner. It’s a small little gelato shop with one staff. They do have quite a few selections(and also some interesting ones). I am pretty boring when it comes to my gelato and ice cream flavors so I picked my favorite, mango, as usual. I got a scoop in a waffle cone for $ 4. You can definitely tell that the gelato didn’t have any artificial flavoring or coloring, which is really good. The gelato was rich and flavorful. So much mango goodness in one big scoop. I would be down to come again for their other flavors, like Espresso Chip and Earl Grey! Overall, this is a great gelato place if you want some more unusual flavors. They have the«normal» flavors, but I think the flavors here are more special and diverse.

Not the best Gelato, but still really good. I used to come here a lot before when it was known as Gelato Classico. But now as Snake and Butterfly, it’s changed. No longer specializing in only gelato/sorbet ice cream — but also fine chocolates has somewhat limited their depth and focus on ice cream. I used to love the pistachio flavor that Gelato Classico carried, which the 3 – 4 times I hoped Snake and Butterfly would have, they didn’t. Now at Snake and Butterfly, I usually get the dark chocolate or hazelnut + Affogato style. The hot shot of espresso over a creamy ice cream is heaven for any coffee/ice cream lover! Besides that, service is relatively fair — you can try as many flavors as you want. The cute little space offers indoor and outdoor seating. It is also at the end of downtown campbell strip, so it’s far enough from all the noise(drunkards of Aquis) but still close and walk-able overall.

This is a cute little find all thanks to Unilocal! My friend and I were craving something sweet & found this spot. Great atmosphere with helpful workers. They are very friendly too. Greeted us as soon as we walked into the door! Also, while I was enjoying my gelato, the workers would come out & talk to the customers if there was no line. Which is great! They really got the know everyone in the store. I got the ricotta lemon & formidable blac cookie dough gelato. Ricotta lemon was surprisingly yummy! Good balance of cheese & lemon! Try it! The cookie dough has huge pieces of cookie dough & I mean like bigger than bite size. Three bites! & I had two cookie dough pieces! I got the small size & it fit two flavors for $ 3.75 My friend got the strawberry sorbet & lemon sorbet. The lemon was SUPER sour! But it blended so well with the strawberry. Together, it honestly tasted like strawberry lemonade! There was also great outdoor seating for this hot day! I want to come back & try the other flavors! There is also chocolate & the names of the chocolate sound very interesting. Definitely coming back to try them!

Finally able to stop in for a treat. I spent some time drooling over the amazing chocolates(don’t worry they’re in a case) then went to check out the Gelato. Of course when I saw the Dark Chocolate I didn’t need to look anymore! It was delicious!!! If I can get past the chocolate I’ll try some of the other flavors next time. Their coffees looked great as well, I’ll try some in the morning. You should check out their website to learn about them. What they offer and their story is pretty cool.
