I really enjoy meeting passionate business owners who care about their product and customers. Although I had liked the coffees I had tried, I was even more fortunate to meet Marianna and Thomas as they were showing off their coffees one day at a food fare. I enjoyed learning about the coffees they sell, the process of how coffee is farmed/prepared, their backgrounds, and their commitment to their products. I subsequently visited their shop in Campbell, received a quick tour, and had a good chat about their successes getting the coffee into stores and workplaces. Marianna reco’d their Los Lobos coffee based on my particular tastes, and its a winner! With all the brands and varieties available, finding the one that is really«you» is pretty hard. Great to have a knowledgeable guide.

It’s hard to find, but worth it. There was a sign for an auto shop, and in tiny writing in a decorative font(meaning really hard to see on the road), the name of the coffee place is listed. It’s in the back of one of those really long Silicon Valley business rows. I decided to check this place out because they have a blend called the Flying Dragon. I’m a sucker for coffee with names like that. I walked in and it felt weird. It was quiet and the woman at the shop greeted me. So yes, even though it looks like distribution hub, it’s also a shop. She is incredibly knowledgeable about coffee brews and grinds. Their website is quite helpful to learn about which grind fits which coffee. She really knows her stuff. I asked her about acidity related to stomach, and she told me it was how much the coffee resembles a citrus-like taste. So, if you have any questions, she’s your woman. Also, she was really nice, friendly, and enthusiastic.

Bay Area coffee geeks will appreciate this place for the awesome direct trade(the owner visits the farms in person) and single origin beans including one from the renowned Cup of Excellence. The owner, Mariana, is very welcoming and willing to share her knowledge and passion for coffee with visitors. This isn’t a café where you can order a latte and sit for hours with your laptop. It’s much better! It’s a place where you can geek out on coffee toys from Hario, purchase green coffee beans to roast at home, and best of all buy some of the best fresh roasted coffee available this side of the bay. I left today with two pounds of Costa Rican coffee, two sturdy commercial grade latte cups with matching saucers, and some pre-ground samples. I haven’t been to a public cupping before but I will definitely be back for that since the owner said she has those from time to time. Such a treat for this coffee geek!

I’ve been in the coffee business for a long time, and clearly Tico is one of the most exceptional roasters I have come across. I am a coffee club subscriber and look forward to the monthly shipment. I have found Tico’s selection, roast profile and depth of knowledge of sustainability to yield a consistently fantastic cup. Tico is really a great find. There are a myriad of options, but this is clearly one of the best. Don’t miss the chance to give them a try… you won’t be disappointed.

Was looking for quality coffee, not that typical commercial branded stuff and happened to hear about Tico Coffee Roasters. I stopped in to see what they offered, and was really satisfied with their selection. I was helped by Marianna, who is the business owner. She gave me wonderful recommendations, out of everything, I went with the Yirgacheffe Kochere(from Ethiopia), and the Confite Black Honey. It was ground on site for me and I tried one right when I got home after work. The Ethiopian one was fantastic! Really bold flavor and I could taste the slight hints of peach/apricot, and early grey as the description described. Will have to try the Confite black honey another time. Whats great is that they hold classes both in house and at different locations, each time delving on another topic, which is great if you’re looking to learn more about your coffee. I definitely recommend paying Tico Coffee roasters a visit if you’re seeking high quality coffee beans!

Love the quality and attention to detail from this little shop. The coffee is great. The fact that they know who is growing their beans. Really. Know the growers, as in walk the hills and have a relationship with the people growing the beans lets them pick the absolute best. Lots of love here and it shows in the product. Get it now before they get too big for their britches and go all commercial. A true gem.

This is not a coffeeshop – it is a small business office that sells coffee beans only. Perhaps that was obvious to others, but not to me. Also, I suggest calling ahead of time – when I arrived during normal business hours, the office was closed. On a positive note, I met the two owners at a Campbell event, and both were very nice.

This Company has the most amazing coffee! I have nver tasted anything like it! One is grown in soil near blueberries or something and it has a faint blueberry undertone. Amazing. I purchased one of their richer roasts to try in my desserts and it took my tiramisu to another level! They dont have a storefront, but they have a warehouse where they will start offering tastings. I cant wait! Wish they had a shop but will just buy by the pound and brew at home for now…

Looking for delicious coffee roasted from Costa Rico. Look no further. The aromas and wonderful flavor will beat starbucks anyday(and other coffee shops too). I tasted their wonderful coffee at a recent art gallery. Look forward to ordering some coffees through their website. Wish they had a store front.

Just thinking about the wonderful coffees Tico Coffee Roasters offer always puts a smile on my face. Mariana and Tom are a delightful couple who share a passion for delivering excellent coffee from Costa Rica by way of direct trade. I love the wonderful fruitiness of some of their favorite blends. Even their decaf will surprise you in how pleasing are the aromas. Tico Coffee Roasters are a must for any special occasion where you want to serve only the best coffee! As an event planner I am always happy to add someone as special as the Tico Coffee Roasters to my recommended list of vendors. Thank you for being part of the Holiday Open House! Photos attached.
