I don’t know if they just send their funky ones to the little trailer on Haywood that they sell from, but I’ve gone a few times and bought ½ dozen and there are always a couple that are raw and doughy inside. In general the bagels are always too dense and heavy, but raw and doughy is really bad. I love their mission and will go back from time to time to see if the product improves, but for now I find them pretty disappointing.

I’ve had Home Free bagels several times at Biltmore Coffee Traders. The best one ever was on my last visit, an everything bagel with habanero cream cheese. Yum! If you’re a New Yorker, you should know I’m not a fan of H&H bagels, too bready for me. Home Free bagels are crunchy/​chewy on the outside (when toasted) and light and fluffy on the inside, just the way I like them. Keep up the good work Home Free!
