Costume Warehouse/ Phantom Halloween

So happy I went here. I wish I would have gotten the person who helped me name. She was amazing so sweet and extremely helpful. She really went above and to help me find a 50s costume for my daughter.

Worst service ive ever had… kimberly «manager» was the worst person ive ever had to deal with in retail. She charged my card twice getting me an iver draft fee with my bank. Then starting being very ride after her mistake. Very unprofessional but what do you expect in Canoga park.

Bagged costumes, carded makeup and a scant amount of décor. Being open all year log (as stated by another reviewer) makes this place seem kind of dead, and not in a good way… stale is a better word.
About 5 aisles of typical costumes, nothing exotic or super-​timely, all very ordinary, and on the more expensive side. Some of the merchandize is out of reach (up high) with no visible price — which makes discreet bargain hunters uneasy and apt to just move along rather than ask for help.
I really didn’t find what I was looking for, which surprised me, but if you’re willing to settle; they have lots of average options.

Went in not knowing what exactly I was looking for my son and I and left very happy on what we got. Linda is such a doll and had so many creative ideas. She was such a big help. We finally decided on a dinosaur costume for my 17 month old son and an explorer costume for myself. Only downer that they didn’t have the costume for me but she told me exactly what I can get at a regular department store to look like one. I did get the hat though. This place is great. Couldn’t be happier!!! Thank you!!!

My girlfriend and our friend visited Phantom Halloween over the weekend. We were helped by two young ladies that were both absolutely awesome! The store has great props and decorations for your Halloween house parties and a great selection of costumes. I highly recommend getting there in the next week or so for Halloween 2015 — supplies will run out quickly. Especially if you are looking for really cool contacts to go with your costume. The contact lenses that Phantom sells can be re-​used for 2 – 3 years!!! Very cool place. Stop by if you’re in the area. They had an insane buy one get the second 50% off!

Open all year is a big plus for me. They have tons of costumes, masks and accessories. Reasonable pricing and friendly staff. I will definitely come back for all my Halloween needs.

I always come here wanting to give them another chance and really wanted to like them… Sadly, I never do. The sad truth is that most of the staff clearly do not like their jobs. Their attitudes stink and they seem to resent it when customers come into the store. True, there’s a halfway decent selection of costumes, makeup, wigs, masks, etc., here but other stores have stuff too. I’d rather go somewhere else — and even pay a little more for it – rather than be treated as rudely as I am here.

My mom and I arrived 5 minutes before 5pm on Saturday. The lady who was in the store yelled at us to go away. The open sign was still lit up in the window & the sign on the door said the store was open till 7pm on week days and Saturdays. Not sure what that was about but it’s obvious false advertising if they close the store down before 5pm. So far not a fan.

Okay. How do I start? I came here for my last minute shopping, on my lunch break on Halloween day. I get to the parking lot and someone is directing traffic and telling people where to park. That’s was so awesome and helpful! I get inside the store and grab what I needed. There was only one line in the middle of the store — where costume are and where people are trying to look over your personal space area. While in line I was able to browse, and notice the prices were slightly high.
My turn to pay for my $ 4 item (hair color spray). Took more than 10 mins to get to a cashier. No «hello or how are you today» from the cashier. Literally just ask me cash or credit? I said cash. I gave her $ 5.00 and after that she just handled item. No «thank you or come back soon»

This store has plenty of what you may be looking for, and it’s open all year round. The employees are nice too. But the pricing is another story. Amazon completely owns them in this sense, while Party City has better prices. I really can’t give it lower than a 4 star though, it’s not their fault.

I have been calling and waiting for this store to get in Elsa wigs for adults. Have called and called for about a month, and kept being told they weren’t in yet. Finally, they received them. So i went in to see it and wanted to try it on to make sure that it would fit me and that it wasn’t a piece of junk wig (i’ve bought 2 Elsa wigs already and they were made terribly, so I wanted to make sure this one was okay). I was told that if I opened the package, I would have to buy it, and that you are not allowed to try wigs on. HOWEVER, I saw two employees assisting other customers with wigs that they were being allowed to try on, and when I complained about it, I was told «i’m sorry, I don’t really know what to say. You can not try it on.» And on top of it, I was told if i purchased it, i could not return it if it didn’t fit. Please explain to me how you expect me to spend $ 40 on a wig if i CAN’T TRY IT ON OR RETURN IT? I understand their concerns, but then do not allow other customers to put wigs on while other customers are complaining because they are not able to. Bad service, bad return policy, awful experience. I will most definitely NOT ever be returning here, EVER. I will take my money elsewhere.

This is a costume store. Duh. But I have to give them a shout out because I came here the night before I left the country and I needed a petticoat stat! I called and the woman that took my call was so nice and confirmed that she did have what I was looking for. When I arrived she helped me and when I realized that what she had was too short, she went and dug up a longer one from an opened costume and gave it to me for 50% off. Awesome, huh? She even worked it out so that it would total the amount of cash that I had in my hand! I love good customer service, and that is exactly what I got here!

This little hidden gem is open year round!!! Life savers in my book as we are trying to prepare for this years Ren Faire in Irwindale :) only one staff member was present but very attentive to the handful of mommies and kids. Defiantly plan to return for my future costume needs :)

This store had a great selection of costumes, props and other Halloween necessities. There were so many cool items that really helped me tune into my creative side in designing a costume.
I came on Halloween day, so the place was packed, yet they still managed to have employees walking the floor answering questions, bringing down masks and moving the purchasing lines quickly. I give them credit for their hustle.
Prices are affordable and anyone can get a great costume together for under $ 50, if you have skills!

This store gets an extra star just because they do have a decent selection. If you’re looking for a specific costume close to Halloween this might be your only chance to find it. But, the service is horrible and the prices are a complete and total rip off! Expect to pay anywhere between $ 60 and $ 100 for one of those pre-​packaged mass-​produced outfits you could have bought at Spirit for $ 30 if they weren’t already sold out. It wouldn’t surprise me if this store actually increases the prices of the outfits the closer it gets to Halloween just to take advantage of the desperate last minute shopper.
Go somewhere else if you have a choice.

Don’t go here! Their prices are very high, bad selection, and I forgot to pull out my coupon until after the transaction and they said no. Come on, it was only for $ 10 and we spent over $ 100?! They just said no and smiled. Horrible! So not worth it. If you have the time, go somewhere else or buy online from other places. You’ll get better stuff at a better price! I wish I could give them 0 stars!

Large selection and friendly service is what you will find here. Good size parking but I’m sure as Halloween comes closer you will find street parking.
Open all year maybe.

We all have fun going to the Halloween stores during Halloween season but rarely do you find a Halloween store that is open year round! This is one of those rare exceptions and boy do they have a lot of items stocked.
The cool thing is that you can start your Halloween shopping early so that you avoid all of the lines during Halloween season (September/​October). They have everything from inside decorations, outside decorations, masks, costumes, props, makeup, and more.
I bet you even if you went to this place in April, you would catch Halloween fever and wish it were October already!

Need a costume in the middle of April? Halloween Adventure will save the day. I can’t think of any costume store that opens year round in the valley other than here. They have a pretty large store with all sorts of outfits and accessories for any kind of costume party you need.
The price is fairly reasonable. I thought it was a little bit expensive at first until I went over to Party City and realized that Halloween Adventure is quite a bit cheaper.
The lady who owns the store is nice. I was looking for a bunch of random items to complete my monopoly character outfit. She was very helpful in looking for a hat, a cane, and a mustache. I would have spent hours there searching if she didn’t help me.
The store doesn’t allow for returns or exchanges. All sale are final so you better make sure that what you’re getting is what you really want.
