This place is the worst apartment complex you could ever possibly imagine… When I first went to view the apartment. I had made an appointment and had gone to the leasing office to meet this girl who I had spoke to on the phone. She proceeded to show me a 1 bedroom unit. Which was a loft. Living room downstairs and a small area that stairs led to above. NOTHINGSPECIALATALL. only thing good was the price. At $ 950 a month. The lady told me that I would take home the application. Fill it out. N that on return of the application. She would run my credit. N proceed to get me approved. NORMAL. Once I had dropped off the application, I received a call the next day by the same girl letting me know I had been approved. N that I could come in the following day to sign the lease n get my keys. I returned the following day to sign the lease. At this point. The lady told me that the apartment that I had looked at the 2 days earlier. Was NOT the apartment that I was going to be moving into. To this I replied. THENWHICHAPARTMENTAM I GOINGTOLIVEIN, ANDCAN I SEEITPLEASE. She took me over to the other side of the building and showed me a basically identical unit(as far as the floorplan was concerned.) the light in the new unit did not hit the windows during the day, so it was dark, the wood floors were different, and they were still fixing it up. I ALSONOTICEDTHATBYTHEWINDOWWHERETHEBOXAIRCONDITIONINGUNITWAS, THEREWERETINYBUGSCRAWLINGALLOVERTHEWALLANDONTOTHEFLOOR, I noticed that the window was open and thought that maybe the bugs were in there because the window had been left open while they were re doing the apartment. I even asked the girl who had showed me the first unit if the bugs were there because the window was left open, to which she replied. «Yes it must be because of that.» I was skeptical and upset about the differences and the bug situation, but had basically already gone through the entire process of getting in, so counted my losses and said ok. I signed the lease and she told me I could move in the following Friday. When I came back Friday to move my stuff in, the bugs were still there, and as I processed to start moving my stuff in, I started seeing FULLSIZEROACHESRUNNINGAROUNDEVERYWHERE! That’s when I realized that the little bugs I had been seeing by the window were baby roaches that were just not smart enough to hide like the bigger ones. I didn’t even want to move my stuff in with the bug situation being like this. But I had hired movers and was paying by the hour(and whomever has gone down this road when moving, knows this is stressful alone in itself) so decided in had no choice but to move everything in n call in the morning to have management call an exterminator. After getting all the big furniture in. I left everything in boxes so that things could be as protected as possible when the exterminator came. That night, a couple hours and few roaches later, I was About to go to sleep with my girlfriend, we got in bed, and were about to turn off the lights, when we noticed the biggest roach we had seen yet, crawling on the roof above the bed, we watched it crawl and I was waiting for it to get to the ajoining wall so I could kill it, when it fell straight down onto the bed, almost hitting my girlfriend. That’s when we both got up and left, deciding to sleep at her parents house until the following day. I did not want to leave knowing that they were crawling around and might be getting on or in my bed and furniture but had no choice. The next day we notified the management about the problem, and they told me that an exterminator would be out in 2 days. SOFORANOTHER2DAYSWEHADTOKEEPAREEYESWIDEOPEN. Once the exterminator came, he proceeded to put little things in the cabinets and in the corners and on the wall, so after that we would find dead roaches in all these spots, but there were live ones everywhere still 2. After living here for about 4 months, in this nasty bug infected place, my little box air conditioning unit(which wouldn’t even cool the house down, especially not the upstairs loft area at all) broke. I proceeded to call management that Friday that it broke, n the lady told me that they would be calling the AC maintenance people and they would be out either Monday or Tuesday to fix it. Monday came, nobody, Tuesday came, nobody. I called the management again, but nobody picked up the phone, for the next week, I called the main management company every day, but nobody would answer the phone. I felt forced to write a formal letter and preceded to looking into getting another box unit myself, because the living condition with it being so hot was unbearable. Long story short, the unit wasn’t fixed for. 45 days. I had to purchase another unit in the meantime which had to sit inside the house on a table, just to try to get some cold air circulating, even though it wasn’t ventilated, better than nothing DONTEVERLIVEHERE
