Super clean toilets!!!(A+) Designer gas prices!!!(C-) I can pass on eating the BBQ because I always see the help shoving food in there faces without changing gloves, witnessed one of the BBQ cooks out front with a head cold doing the farmers nose blow and wiping it on his apron and sleeves while wearing his gloves. He then proceeded right back inside and behind the serving counter. I’m glad he at least went outside to to sling his snot.1(F-) The Taco place is clean, professional, and no one shoving food in their faces behind the counter.(A)

Have you ever heard of a travel center with a dog park? I’ve driven across the country and back with my dog, and I have never seen a single gas station or travel center with an enclosed area to let your dog stretch its legs. Not until I stopped at Duke’s, at least. The place is great! It’s big, has plenty of snack and gift options, has pretty good BBQ and of course some good fast food tacos at Taco Casa, and best of all, it has super clean bathrooms! I drive this stretch of I-20 regularly and stop here every time! It’s super convenient to pull off the highway and get back on, unlike the place with the beaver logo that literally takes FOREVER to get in and out of! If you drive this stretch of highway, I definitely recommend stopping here!

Awesome and clean travel plaza for a road trip! Bathrooms were very clean and I love all the Duke decorations and memorabilia. The coffee was hot and reasonably priced. It has all sorts of snack items and souvenirs.

We stopped to take a shower and grab a bite to eat. The shower policy is ludicrous. They won’t let you shower with your wife. You half to buy 2 showers at 10 bucks a person. The showers while small are nice in décor and for the most part clean. But there are 2 settings scolding hott or Iceberg cold. Plus the water pressure is low as to say a high trickle. NOW on to the smokehouse. we ordered 2 sliced brisket sandwiches. There was 4 small pieces of brisket on each sandwich. The meat was covered in sauce and I mean cover in sauce. They sell there meat by the pound for 15.95 a pound way above the going price of 8.95 to 10.95 everywhere else. The staff didn’t seem to care after I addressed this with them. Won’t be spending my hard earned money here again. I advise you think about it also

A must stop when driving into the Dallas Metroplex. This place has everything you need or want that is Texas related. BBQ, Tex-Mex, a great shop with Texas themed goods, a beef jerky outlet and even cattle shaped grills. Yea they have gas but its the last reason you will want to stop here, the Walmart of Texas goods is worth the stop alone.

Stopped here coming back from a day in canton. Reminds me of a very small Bucee’s the way it had knick knacks and all kinds of cakes and chips and candy. They even have a beef jerky outlet next door that’s pretty cool. They have a taco casa and a bbq place inside if you want more of a meal on your stop. My bonus points came outside, when I saw the dog park! Yes, a dog park! They thought of everything with that little touch. Being that I have 3 fur babies, it’s nice to see corporate thinking of them on the road.

This is a great place to stop, get gas, shop for Texas souvenirs and eat great food. They have lots of food cooked ready to eat for you to choose from for an entire meal. Bathrooms are big and clean. They have free sample of all kinds of jerky as well. If you need a pit stop on your drive, this is the place!

The gas station portion wasn’t anything terribly exciting but the next door beef jerky shop was pretty cool. I was disappointed to find out most of their stuff(with the exception of 2 items) are all shipped from out of state.

We stopped to eat bbq and the pulled pork sandwiches were very good, but the servers were not nice at all! My husband asked for an additional side before we paid for anything and with no customers waiting behind us and the two women acted like he was totally making an unreasonable request. Because of their attitudes, he quickly said never mind. That is just horrible customer service! The restrooms were clean and nice and the people working in the store were very nice. We won’t be back.

I was very underwhelmed by this place. Lots of tacky junk around the store. Positives: they had clean restrooms, equipped with a Dyson air blade so my hands were super dry after washing them. They also had Rip It energy drink, which is awesome. Negatives: the coffee was slightly warmer than room temperature. They were playing depressing country music at a volume that was entirely unnecessary. Unnecessary until I realized that this was in a dry county so they probably are depressed from having their government banning them from consuming an otherwise legal beverage. Which brings me to my final point: they do not sell beer here. I suggest you stop in a county closer to Dallas when on your way to Louisiana, where they realize that this is America and alcohol is a right.

Dukes has the largest selection of merchandise compared to any gas station I’ve ever been to. They’re not just a gas station though, the signs tell you a little more — BBQ& Taco Casa are here as well! While I didn’t try the BBQ this time, I will soon. I’ve had Taco Casa in Arlington and this one is just about the same. Large sized items that are a little bit more expensive but they do have smaller versions of burritos & tacos. They obviously take pride in their cheese, it’s always liked on! The rest of the store has always been clean when I’ve stopped for gas or restroom breaks. The restroom is very large with stalls at each toilet/urinal. The toilets have wooden doors on them, I think that was a nice gentleman’s touch. Dyson dryers are always fun so feel free to use them & help diminish your carbon footprint on Duke’s dollar! I’ve posted several pictures of the snacks, drinks & candy/sweets they offer so feel free to take sleek at them. I tried to take some panoramic shots but they’re not very good. The intent was to show the vast array of items they sell. If you’re looking for something and can’t find it, the sweet ladies would be obliged to help — just ask!

I stopped specifically because it was time for a bathroom break and there was a Taco Casa. It was Christmas Day so no Taco Casa for us. They have great facilities, so I was pleased with that. The family decided on some BBQ, but I was unfazed as I didn’t want any generic meat. I saw the food and the brisket looked angry and tasteless and my wife didn’t indicate that I was missing anything. I settled on a gas station tuna sandwich. For five bucks, I expected better, but I was at a gas station. I’ll be back for some tacos.

Dukes has something for everyone when you need a road trip pit stop. Gas, diesel, souvenirs, big, clean restrooms, easy on/off highway access, and food! Everything you expect and more in the store, and BBQ, too. Wait, there’s more… Taco Casa. This particularTaco Casa has extra big burritos and lots of cheese. I bet they go through a thousand pounds of cheese per month. Maybe a ton, get your share. Dukes is your best bet for an I-20 stop between Tyler and Dallas.

As road-side stops go, this one is perfect for people who want a solid hot meal(vegetarian options too!), a clean bathroom, and some seriously decent shopping for food, snacks, and souvenirs. Plus, the staff was super friendly. Instead of the usual state-run highway rest stop, this place has character — the amazing photo collection in the bathroom(with marble sinks, btw) is a really nice touch. As a vegetarian, I was delighted to be able to get a plate overflowing with summer squash, green beans, black eye peas, mac & cheese, potatoes, and mushrooms. After over 1,000 miles on the road, I couldn’t be happier with this place. I wish there were more like it!

Nice place with good eats. BBQ and Taco Casa. Store has many premade items both hot and cold. Many gas pumps but last time I was there several of them were out of order. Nice 24 hour stop for fuel, food and restrooms.

This place is great! The whole staff is super friendly and helpful. The kids and I stopped for a breather on our trip from Fort Worth to the boondocks and grabbed some BBQ. The lady behind the counter was so nice and helpful. She knew how to serve kids and she dealt well with our questions and the constant mind-changes of a 5– and 7-year-old. As a single mom like me, she helped me make every dollar count and she even kindly gave me three medium cups when I asked if we could all just share a large(she only charged me for one large). The manager came to our table several times while we were there to check up on us and talk playfully with the kids. You don’t often see that at real restaurants, much less those in a service station. The food was pretty good, though the pulled pork was a bit bland without the barbecue sauce, but that’s fine because they’re not at all stingy with the sauce. My daughter was thrilled that they offered all the pickles she could eat:)They were always busy, cleaning the place spotless. The bathrooms were nice and very clean. Even the cashiers in the gas station part of the building were very friendly. I did see several of the taco cabana’s staff out front smoking as we were coming and going, looking incredibly grim and off-putting, but we didn’t patronize the taco cabana, so I can’t comment on how they are inside. I should think the management wouldn’t look kindly upon them taking up the patio tables meant for patrons for their long smoke breaks, but oh well. Overall, we will be returning to this place on our frequent trips between civilization and the wilderness.
