I recently purchased a 90 minute massage for myself and my buddy, via Groupon, at Mary Therapy. My buddy canceled his massage because that is too much«skin touching time.» I’m not sure what that means. I had my massage last night. It was lovely. The building is on a quaint little main street-esque road with street parking right in front. The interior is newly remodeled, minimalist but not spartan, clean and soothing. Mary, the owner operator, was ready with a foot soak and a patient history form the minute I walked in. She has a very calm personality and a tiny little body that included tiny little hands. That said, they are strong, miraculously strong. I opted for a firm massage with a focus on my shoulders and neck(that’s where I carry all my tension). She let me pick what scent I wanted for my foot scrub(cranberry) and oil(peppermint) and got started. She began on my back to ensure that there was enough time to work on it to the degree it needed. There were moments of pain, but let me be clear, the good pain, like the slight burn and pull of a good stretch, or the tinge that accompanies a deep neck pop. Those however gave way quickly as she made quick work of my knots and tightness. She worked my whole body, prior to the table we discussed what I was comfortable with, back, legs, feet, arms, neck, stomach. It was amazing. Really, really nice. In fact when she finished I was certain that it was a joke, there was no way that could have been 90 minutes, alas it was, she had actually gone over the alloted time, I can only assume that was because we spent about 10 minutes on the foot soak/scrub. I came home raving and hoping i could use my other groupon on myself again, but due to my glowing review my buddy has decided that it isn’t too much skin touching after all. She offers yoga(private and small classes) and a massage/yoga combo that sounds amazing. First the massage so she can see your problem areas and the yoga tailored to suit you and your needs. I highly recommend a trip to Canal Fulton if you are in Ohio.
