They closed, what a bummer. Guess you have to go to Cardiff now. I’m really not surprised that they closed. The service wasn’t the best, but the food was super good and fun vibes. Good luck to them in Cardiff.

Was excited for beer and pizza… then I ended up getting a Bloody Mary(where the two stars comes from) and a pizza to share with a friend. He picked the Besta pizza and man was I disappointed! Feel like they forgot our order then threw the stuff on the pizza and melted the cheese on top. I mean, all of the onion slices on the pizza were 100% raw. Is this how it’s supposed to be? Seemed odd. I definitely want to give them another try but will be ordering a different type of pizza. And can I say the Bloody Mary was awesome. I LOVE the spices and garlic in the rim of the glass… oh and it’s served in a mason jar – rad! Only thing that would make it better would be a slice of bacon but the drink as it comes is about perfect! The main dining and bar area has lots of seating and the décor is cool. I sat in the bar and was stoked they had purse hooks under the counter – kudos for that, owners! I’ll be back and will update my review after my next visit. Stay tuned!

Food is total comfort food but they have a good salad lineup too. They nailed it with all the decorations and not just your standard vintage records on the wall. This place is a Hollywood thrift store on acid… and crack. I say that endearingly too. Wings were great, wife raved about the«I love mushrooms pasta», awesome country fried steak and the fish and chips are a thumbs up too. A+

i literally live right beside this place. I’ve walked here many times with some friends for some happy hour, which unfortunately, ends too early. They also have an outdoor patio which is dog friendly. My pug loves coming here! If you love cheese, and love it on your pizza, then I recommend Bestawans. Make sure to eat it while it’s hot though, because when you have a lot of cheese on pizza, it gets cold and hard quick. I love their zucchini slices, but the last time they were a little too greasy. Kind of left a bad taste in my mouth for wanting to order them again. Recently they have had Latitude 33 Blood Orange IPA on tap. Better get here while they still have it. It’s tasty stuff! Service is hit or miss at this place. It is never too busy, so I’m not sure if the employees are just bored, or hate their job?

Came here for take out pizza for the first time. Decent pizza. Had their regular vegie. They have a loaded as well. Order here if convienent, but it’s not to die for. Better than chain store pizza. As I said, I had take out, but two things stood out in the few minutes I was inside. First lets just get the negative out of the way. I am down to earth, but upon entering«Besta Wan» I saw two employees right away. Funny thing it was one hour to closing, place was 15% full and their tasks at hand where more important then saying anything to me. Would understand if the place was busy or about to close. Bartender was promptly attentive and got me on my way. He was very friendly. On the positive, this place is eye poping. I really mean it! Very different décor. Pictures posted show the true wonderful inside. I added 3 of my own. The outside patio, which looked like it sat about 16 to 20 people allows dogs. Plus for me loving dogs. Get what you pay for. My 12 inch cost 21 – 22. Easy parking. Extended parking very close by. Easy in and out from freeway. Very safe area. Lots of real flowered plants outside. Table for 12 stood out. Reviews from others seem to suggest if you want a sure thing, order the pizza and hotdogs. Other items might be a gamble. Take Jefferson exit off 78 and go south when visiting.

Pleasantly surprised! When I think of a restaurant with pizza and Mexican food I tend to doubt the quality of either but… This place is so good! My kids had pizza that was great, hubby had hot wings that were fresh and delish(I ate 3), dad had Mexican, mom had Patty melt, and I had chicken melt. Sweet Potato fries were so good. I would have given 5 stars but my Nana didn’t care for the chicken on her salad. However staff WA great and comped us the salad. Ultimately a very good experience. I also love the décor!

You’ve absolutely got to come see this place! More eclectic stuff gathered under one roof than you can imagine! Beer is cold, served in Mason jars. Love it. Patrons and bartenders are friendly. I hear their peanut butter wings are amazing… But I’m just here for the happy hour beer :) Here you’ll see Asian decorative items mixed with rock memorabilia mixed with Dia DE Los Muertos items. Wow just wow Check it out

There’s almost nothing worse than dashed expectations. I’ve been a fan of the Cardiff location for years. As hippy-dippy as that place is, the vibe is always fun and funky and the service runs like a machine. And the pizza is delicious. I hoped the magic would carry over to the Carlsbad location. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t work. While the décor is delightfully eclectic, instead of a jukebox blasting classic Zeppelin, there are TVs silently showing baseball highlights. That’s fine but it’s not funky. The pizza is still great but, damn it, don’t bring it out at the same time as the appetizer. Do people not have a clue about this concept? This is a problem at many places. The real problem was with our server who, while friendly, just didn’t have a clue. Requests were ignored or forgotten and she never came by to check on us, refill the waters or ask if we wanted another beer(or anything else, in fact). I’m a forgiving guy, and I know anyone can have an off day, but nonexistent service is just not a good thing. You may suck at your job but at least try a little. The poor service wasn’t just a problem for us. Although the customers at the table next to us were total horses’ asses, in fairness, their service was poor, too. It was a most disappointing experience. Management needs to step it up a bit. In the meantime, back to Cardiff I go.

Don’t be deceived by the name, this restaurant is NOT just a pizza parlor. They literally serve tastes from every main culture. I’m a peanut butter fanatic, so I tried their PB salad and wings and loved them both! The atmosphere is delightfully eccentric, and the service is personable. I would recommend this eatery to any local, tourist, or random passerby!

Went here friday night, wasn’t too busy. A very unique place, I can say no other place looks like this. Lots of nick nacks, pictures on the walls, lots of bright lights throughout. So many collectible items thrown together to make this restaurant pop. Once we sat down we were given a food menu and later a drink menu. I ordered a water which I got 5 minutes later, no big deal. I let it slide. Husband enjoyed his drink in the meantime. Ordered appetizer which came out 30 mins later didn’t get any extra plates or napkins etc. Our server didn’t come back to check on us that much. We thought maybe she was new or whatever and gave her another chance. Once our main food gets out like 45 mins or so it looked really gross. My husband ordered pepperoni pizza which looked like he could have purchased from the bowling alley, I got a meatball sandwich with bell peppers and onions. Also a side of fries. The food had no flavor, it was really greasy, we were really disappointed in wasting our time and money. We heard the table next to us talk about adding more alcohol to their drinks, because they couldn’tt really taste it, their server said let me check with the bar and see how much money it would be. This place doesn’t have a full bar, they serve a few basic drinks that include vodka, tequila, and a moscow mule. Like I said this place wasn’t busy, so i’m not sure what our server was doing, very poor customer service. Not coming back.

I’ve been here twice, and both times service was great. Staff is super friendly and attentive without being annoying. The ambiance is also casual/mellow which helps for a relaxing day on their patio. The first time I ordered salad, however I was getting over the flu and my palette wasn’t working properly for days. This second time I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich which was delicious. It’s nothing super special apart from other buffalo chicken sandwiches but it was spicy, had enough sauce and was definitely filling. My husband ordered the meatball sandwich and devoured it. Besides that, the menu is diverse; you have a lot of options. The prices are reasonable and the doggies are very welcome there on their patio. No complaints with this place.

The décor is a very eclectic collection of nick nacks, pictures, record covers in every color under the sun. I am accustomed to the original Encinitas location and I felt as though this place may fall short due to my high expectations but it didn’t. Somehow the turned a giant open warehouse space in a homey dining experience. We shared a large pepperoni pizza and greek salad and they were both delish. Nothing out of this world but good. The pizza is a thin crust with lots of cheese and toppings. They have some great craft beers on tap and a full bar. We went on a Sat night and there was live music that just added another layer to a great dining experience.

Unique place to eat hella good classic pizza, pasta and even Mexican dishes. Their Special is my favorite pizza. slightly spicey, packed with meats, and oh so cheesy. just delicious. Prices are a bit high, but the overall experience makes it worth it. Décor of the place is so fun and eclectic, with crazy cool lights strung about and so much to look at. It really needs to be experienced. Live music on the weekends is a nice bonus. They also have a good selection of local beers on tap. Besta Wan is fast becoming my favorite stop for pizza and beer. Love it!

Besta Wan in Carlsbad has become our Cheers! When my wife and I walk in we take our seats at the bar and our«regular» drinks are poured without even asking. It’s nice to have a hometown Cheers that I can call my own. We normally eat here on the weekends for breakfast but have been known to show up during the week for an after work drink. They have a large selection in their menu, which can be a bit overwhelming, but once you pick out your favorite you are good to go. I enjoy the pizza during the evenings and the A.K. Slinger, aka hangover cure, for breakfast.

A good friend of mine recommended this restaurant. I tried their pizza, and I was not disappointed! I like the thin crust. The flavor and texture was really good! I liked the different veggies they put on their pizzas. The pizzas I tried included ingredients such as tomatoes, onions, artichokes, green peppers, and mushrooms. I didn’t try the pepperoni, but it sure looked delicious! The pizza I ordered had ricotta cheese in it. I never thought of putting ricotta cheese on a pizza before, but it sounded interesting. Whoever thought of that came up with a great idea! It was very good. The atmosphere is really nice too. The décor is pretty interesting. I’m not quite sure how to describe it. There’s lots of different bric-à-brac’s, as well as pictures, and wall ornaments. The walls are painted a bright sort of orange yellow, which in my opinions works well with their chosen décor. There’s beautiful lights hanging from the ceiling, that are sort of star shaped. I guess one could say the décor is very artistic and cheerful. I went on a Saturday night, and there was a live band playing. The music was okay, but it was very loud, so it was a little hard to hear what the person sitting across from me was saying. It’s not enough for me to rate anything other than 5 stars, because the service, prices, food, and atmosphere were all pretty good!

Wow, Wow, and Wow!!! This is an amazing restaurant, the ambiance, the way Becky has decorated is fun all around, atmosphere, array of food,(salads are insanely great) staff is fun and friendly, the entire evening from beginning to end was perfect, we were even serenaded by the staff. I think I have a new favorite hang out. Outdoor seating, pet friendly, they even have their own doggy door.

Husband and I LOVE this place. We had a late lunch and the place was quiet, but the vibe was upbeat. Decora is awesome and chill. The food was good. Altho my husband didn’t like their french dip sauce for the sandwich. I had the homemade lasagna… mmmm. their cheese garlic bread is amazing! Oh and the root beer float is yummo. Service was great, she was upbeat and checked in often. We will be back!

We had no idea how fun it is on the inside! I would have given 5 stars, but I left one off because they should invest in making outside look more exciting since its do festive inside! Service was really really friendly, good food and a large selection on the menu! Plus we liked the beers in the mason jars– way cute.
