Only knock on this place is they use spaghetti for noodles. Also the pot stickers are store bought frozen ones. Brown sauce is very good. Items I liked Mongolian beef, sweet sour shrimp and pork, cashew chicken, Brocoli chicken. Getting the Egg fo young was a brave move by my dad but it was actually really good. Staff is very nice. Twice they have taken my order 10 minutes after closing time. I am still getting use to the 9:00 resturant curfew in Carlsbad.

THe three of us went to Peking Gardens for lunch and it was a % star experience for us. First of all the place looked like it had a remod and it was very comfortable .The food was outstanding. I had Szechwan Shrimp and chicken was to die for. My two table mates had Hunan Beef and the other had Snow Hill chicken and both evoked number 5 rating. We all had soup –2 had hot and sour and the last had egg drop soup they were great . We were greeted and seated and treated with great hospitality and professioinalism. we are delighteed to make this find and will return often

I walked in and checked it out. Seemed nice and quiet. I had the chicken fried rice and hot and sour soup. The food was outstanding. I did add a little chili oil and vinegar to my taste. The service was very fast. Waiter was not over bearing and didn’t forget about me. For the great food, friendly and outstanding service here are your 5 stars!

Their food was very good my food was hot and It wasn’t busy their service was a little lousy waitress took my order didn’t ask me what I would like to drink. I wasn’t done with my food and the waiter had already handed me my bill didn’t ask if I wanted something else to drink. I felt like they just wanted me to hurry up and go not good … This was my first experience here. I don’t know if I’ll be back.

Great tasting food and no MSG! However, do NOT come here on Christmas! Even if you have a reservation your table will NOT be ready!

As other people have said, this place’s dishes are hit or miss. Having said that, I am a Peking Garden loyalist and this restaurant is our family’s permanent«Chinese Place.» Some solid dishes: The Lo Mein, the Triple Delight in Orange Sauce, the Green Bean Shrimp… Pretty much anything with shrimp won’t disappoint.

I love this Chinese restaurant. I’ve been coming here since 1997. Nice family that runs this place. Food is good and never disappointments. Not fancy, but good food and good service. This last visit I had the pot stickers and scallops. Both excellent. Love the Wor Wonton Soup. Yum!

Way overpriced. Terrible delivery times. Food is mediocre, at best. Online ordering easy, but menu is incredibly vague. With every bite, my desire to get my money back increased. I live less than a mile from the restaurant and delivery took over an hour. $ 50 for two people. Sweet and Sour trio came dry. No sauce. Just cold, breaded meat with undercooked vegetables. No option to substitute noodles for rice so had to order noodles separate. Cream cheese wontons were good. Waited to write a review until I was certain it wasn’t a fluke. 3 for 3 is no fluke.

$ 10 or less for a lunch special that included hot & sour soup, a fried spring roll, and moo sho pork. Flavor was good overall — not the best I’ve ever had, but better than most I’ve had in San Diego so far…

Have come here twice and ordered take out once, and overall their dinner combos are a big winner. They have dinner A, B, & C which include an entrée, soup, white rice, 1 egg roll, 1 fried shrimp, &1 cream cheese wanton. The food is delicious and seasoned well with big portions. Also be aware the menu items with chili’s are spicier then I excepted, which was a pleasant surprise. The egg drop soup is a thick consistency with a great egg taste and the spicy honey chicken has a sweet delicious heat. The dinners A, B, C are priced at $ 12.95, $ 13.95, & $ 14.95. Still I feel you get a lot of bang for your buck as it comes with an appetizer. Only negative is the service, anytime I come in there is always a restaurant employee folding napkins at a table, they should do this out of the customers sight as it unflattering. Secondly when we ordered take out, they literally called us 10 times after 30min wait time for our order. A bit excessive for me.

Food is decent for some dishes. Broccoli beef is YUM but some other dishes are flavorless. Seems hit or miss. Oh my gosh the service is the absolute worst I think I have EVER experienced. I was appalled today when I went to pick up my take out and the staff were sleeping in the booth with chairs lined up to block them from view. RIGHTOUTINTHEMAINDININGROOM!!! Not another soul in sight to assist me. Suddenly one of the sleeping peoples’ heads popped up and it was a man putting on his shoes… asked me if I’m picking up then told me to wait for someone to come help me. I waited several minutes until he was finished putting on his shoes and he got up to give me my food and take my payment. Meanwhile, there was a person snoring VERY loudly the entire time. There was a single customer sitting and eating in the same room. Unbelievable! Okay, so I guess it’s a cultural thing but how is that good for business? I’m sorry but I will never ever dine in at this place. The fact that they deliver, the price: serving ratio, and decent food quality helps a bit which is why I’m giving them a 2.

Horrible service. like the worat. Food was good… noodles were bland. I was asked«you know what u want, I have picm up orders?» No I don’t. She rolled my moo shi pork like a 5 year old. They could be nice if they gave a crap. They gave my baby hot hot soup when I specifically asked for warm because she is a child. Nope. This place should be boycotted for real.

Ummmm no. We had called in a «to go» order the other night and the rude chick attempting to take my order thought it was a good idea to hold another completely different conversation with someone else(in Chinese) while I’m ordering… Was not a fun experience and I must of said«honey chicken» 6 times before she quit asking if I wanted honey chicken. She then almost begged me to pay cash for the order, even after I stated I had no cash and would be paying with a card… She stated«we really like cash» another three times before she gave me my bill over he phone. Delivery showed up, tipped the driver really well and not even a thank you! He just turned around and walked away… Food was ok, nothing to brag about at all, but their customer service sucked!!! I wrote a poem about my experience. NOPE nope nope nope Nope nope nope nope nope Nope nope Nope nope nope Nope nope nope nope Nope nope Nope, I won’t be going back!

Solid Chinese food. I came here for lunch today. Their lunch specials include fried rice OR steamed rice, hot and sour soup OR egg flower soup, one veggie eggroll and fried wonton chips. Lots of food! I got the Crystal Chicken and Shrimp. Chicken breast, shrimp, and assorted veggies(bok choy, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots) in a light garlic sauce. Very flavorful dish and didn’t taste heavy. Total for my lunch special was $ 9.75. Note: Have cash prepared because they do not accept credit charges under $ 10.

Service was fast, and all the stuff you would expect from a Chinese restaurant was there. The food left quite a bit to be desired, however. I ordered my go-to of sweet and sour pork, and it was about as bland as it could get. The fried rice was also essentially mush with some frozen veggies in it. Hot and sour soup was watered down — for my tastes at least. The prices weren’t terrible, though, and I feel like I probably got a little less than what I paid for, but not much. I most likely won’t go back there again.

The food is good, not amazing! But good. But the service? Despicable! For starters I was one of two tables in the whole restaurant… That should have made a statement to me! They were rude, unfriendly and extremely unsanitary! I walked in and they were shucking some kind of pea or bean on one of the guest tables in the restaurant! Table covered in them and just sitting there! The menu was quite literally thrown on the table, I had to flag down a staff member to order, the soup smelled like nasty feet so I didn’t eat it, and when the food came it was again thrown on the table with a slam! When I looked up again I saw the entire staff sitting in the dining area just eating away! I was kind of waiting for 10 minutes for my bill to be picked up even when trying to waive them down. They were too busy on their phones playing annoying videos and talking super loud! I ordered white rice with sesame chicken, what I got was not anything the same! Dry fried rice with maybe two slices of egg and four squares of carrot, and their«spicy honey chicken»… Mind you the chicken was chewy and it was no where near even warm in spice! There was absolutely no spice to this dish! It was like they fried the chicken and poured straight honey bear honey on it! I won’t even give this place the second try as it was that disappointing!

This is a small, family-run business, but the food is consistently good. Love the spicy honey chicken! Lunches come with an egg roll and soup, and for a dollar extra, you can add their yummy, garlicky noodles instead of rice.

This is my go-to Chinese place. It’s close to home, they deliver and I’ve been eating here since January 2010. I’m not sure what the reason is for mixed reviews I’ve dined in many times, picked up food to go and also had delivery over the years. The food and service is consistent and I would absolutely remember if there was any kind of issue. Like many places its all about personal preference and taste. There’s always some place better and there’s always some place worse but I never expect every time I try a place that it has to be ‘the best ever’. Like I said, ‘the food here is consistent in quality and taste and the service on par with this type of establishment’. I have reasonable expectations for good food perhaps and Peking Garden has never let me down. Favorite dishes here of mine include; — Chicken with Green Beans — Kung Pao Chicken — Chicken Lo Mien — Moo Shu Chicken Their soups are good too including hot and sour, wor won ton soup and their sizzling rice soup.

I can’t really complain about Peking Garden as they have been very consistent with the food/service, time and time again. If you head to this place for dinner, don’t expect to be wow’d by the appearance or ambiance at this location. It is essentially a no frills restaurant that serves solid fresh Chinese food. The sweet n sour pork and the chow fun are my favorite dishes here, always fresh and tasty, every-time I have ordered it. One definite must order is the Hot and Sour soup, it is DELICIOUS! Pros– Good food Prompt service Sweet n sour Menu options Hot n sour soup Fresh and hot food Cons– A bit expensive No frills location Service can be a bit rushed
