VK Associates

Do not do business with VK Associates. Unprofessional, slow responses, poor communication, and shady characters. (Military family speaking out.)
1. Unprofessional: Harassed one of my previous landlords for references. My previous landlord has company policy of not providing references (unknown to me at the time). Well, VK Associates wanted my references from my previous landlord but the information was not provided. They ended up harassing one of the secretaries and the company owner. Ok, this is not a big deal, I can provide another reference, please do not harass my previous landlord for references if they do not wish to provide.
2. Slow Response. VK Associates did not respond to a sewage leak in the house. The sewage leak was on the main floor, in the closet, from the upstairs bathrooms. Not only was this an awful odor in the house, but was creating an health hazard for my family. Upon reporting this to their office, I received a response that it was probably a rain leak. Ok, nonetheless, it needs to be repair. Later, they did agree with me on the sewage leak but needed permission from the insurance company to proceed with the repairs. I consider this an emergency repair and should not wait. It took them nearly two-​weeks to respond and my family lived in this health hazard condo during this time frame.
3. Poor Communication. E-​mails, phone calls, voice mails, text… I did everything but to stop by their office. They are slow to respond to your messages and do not reply on whether they have received your response or not. Frustrating.
4. Shady: Final walkthrough of the house after move out. They made a note of the damages: nail holes and a small gouge in the dining room floor. We were set and went about our business. Later, we received our deposit check in the mail but they charged us over $ 600 for the dining room floor! They ended replacing the whole floor because of the small gouge. We were blindsided.
