I was impressed that nearly every candy and treat was made in house here. Staff willing to let you try samples, and we enjoyed everything we tried. Also, it was cheaper than we expected– we got a lot of candy and treads for only $ 5.

A tiny spot located within a cool looking cottage. Selection — They do a great job on providing a great selection of sweets with the amount of available space. A little bit of everything but more often than not I do not make a purchase. I think the ability to take in and see all the sweets is enough to satisfy my «candy» craving. Big Ups as they have a couple of selections of Turkish Delight and so many other candies found overseas. Carmel by the Sea is home to a great Turkish store and a candy store stocking Turkish Delight!

This is the cutest candy shop I’ve ever seen. Located on Ocean Ave. in Carmel, Cottage of Sweets is a very popular place for both residents and visitors alike. Nothing is more fun than a cute candy shop in this most charming town. This store is really tiny but has a great selection of vintage candy and chocolate. The fudge and truffles are favorites here. The place is tiny and gets pretty crowded. During the weekend we were here, it was impossible to maneuver through this little store. The employees are overwhelmed and can’t be as efficient as they’d like to be. The fudge looks so delicious! I can’t wait to come back and sample every kind of fudge here. This place is definitely worth visiting while in Carmel!

overpriced and overrated. Tried a variety of truffles. All of them had more fudge than chocolate. They were all filled with flavored fudge. Disgusting.

Extremely rude service! Waited in line in a very small space to be served. The young man who served me had an attitude as though I was doing him a favor by being there. I gave him a few chances to change his attitude by being very polite smiling and saying please and thank you more than once. Yet he handled my transaction headed my receipt to me with my card never once saying thank you or goodbye or anything to let me know I was finished. I asked do I need to sign? He said no signature needed. Then I asked, «Am I finished?» Giving him an opportunity to say thank you have a nice day or something polite. Instead he replies with«yes, you’re finished that’s why I gave you a receipt.» I felt very unappreciated and disrespected by being spoken to in such a manner, especially in a store ful of other customers and after I had given them my business. We won’t be going back again.

I got the large dark chocolate peanut butter cup, which was a whopping 5 $ btw, and I was super disappointed. The supposed peanut butter on the inside resembled nothing of real peanut butter, but a pasty, pale colored, dry chalky substance I can only assume was powdered pb product. Definitely was expecting better. The chocolate itself was good but they gotta work on that peanut butter filling for sure.

This is quite literally a cottage on Ocean Ave, the main street in downtown Carmel. The second you walk in, you can tell that they have outdone themselves in the variety of candy! They have a ton of international candy bars, local chocolates, and then their own homemade fudges, bars, and clusters. This would be a great place to go to try and find that long lost candy you can not find in supermarkets. After a lot of indecisiveness, we decided on a piece of the cookie dough fudge, chocolate caramel sea salt fudge, and a macadamia dark chocolate cluster. The biggest drawback, and reasoning for four stars, was the prices. Six bucks for two small pieces of fudge is a lot. However, all of the candy was delicious. The cookie dough fudge needed more cookie dough in in though. The star was the macadamia cluster with dark chocolate and caramel. It is large enough to split between two people!

Extremely disappointed. I love chocolate covered pretzels and was so excited to find them here. Unfortunately, it was a total waste of money as each one I bit into was 100% stale and plain disgusting. Fudge was barely decent. Chocolate covered pretzels were plain old nasty. Service was meh… Not much to write about. Which is code for they need to do better. Oh yeah, she smushed all of my order into 1 small box instead of separating the fudge. Just. Plain. Wrong. $ 20 is the trash. Literally.

The products were fine and the service friendly, but I made the mistake of visiting this tiny shop during a packed summer Saturday — is it the shop’s fault that it was a mob scene and impossible to move two inches, let alone browse? No, of course not, but this is one of those places where a one-in, one-out policy is needed on days like this. And honestly, the peanut brittle was fine, but it was no better than the giant box of cheapy stuff at the grocery store :(

This is something straight out of a Brothers Grimm fairytale. It has a very majestic charm that can’t be denied. It’s a really small place, but left that deter you from trying this place out. This place could honestly have some of the best fudge I’ve ever had. They have a huge variety, so almost anyone will be able to find something they like. If you don’t like fudge then stay away. I really enjoyed the strawberry cheesecake. The guy behind the counter with glasses was very helpful as he overheard a discussion I was having and offered to help and he did a good job. Overall, a pretty cool place to visit if you’re in the Carmel downtown area.

The chocolate peanut butter fudge is out of this world. Bring napkins cause they have none. The location is right on Ocean Ave. You can smell all the sweet treats when you walk by the cottage. I enjoy the fact that you can go right in and grab any bagged candy. This is convenient when you are on the run. Did I say the bagged candy is also high quality candy too? Yes, Yes they are. :) Lots of choices of candies, especially the ones from Europe. This I enjoy the most! Give it a try. Just make sure you brush your teeth that night, you will be eating more than one. :)
