Enjoy a cozy evening under the stars & among the towering trees at this open air theatre! The performances are great & the cast is always well rehearsed, enthusiastic & delightful. I’ve seen both Oklahoma, about 10 years ago & Peter Pan more recently at this venue. The sets were creative & costumes consistent with the story. The staff are all smiles at this intimate theatre. Be sure to take a blanket or jacket as it can get a bit chilly at night. Sit near one of the two of the wood burning fire pits for extra ambiance & warmth, they’re always ablaze during performances. Concessions are available at a very fair price. But, bring a picnic basket, bottle of wine or hot cocoa instead. They encourage it! Currently the theater is undergoing renovations, but productions are scheduled to restart next year. Although, they are offering a series called Films in the Forest. A series of first-run movies, classic feature films, and documentary film screenings on the big screen in Carmel. The films will be shown at the Carmel Youth Center. The Forest Theater Guild does offer membership opportunities in honor of the grand re-opening of the beautiful Outdoor Forest Theater. For a modest fee your family will enjoy entry to all Films in the Forest and a 25% discount on the purchase of full price plays and special events. .

Closed unti 2016. This is a forest theatre and so it is enclosed in a variety of trees. The benches are wooden so if you like a softer seat don’t forget a cushion. They have two wood burning fire pits that makes this a unique and cozy theatre. If you have a chance to see a performance here it is a wonderful venue. Parking was easy and free and snacks were sold before the show and during intermission. We saw Peter Pan and it was amazing! The costumes were consistent with the story, very detailed, and all the characters were there. The songs had some originals and some variations from the originals, which gave the play a fresh and lively story of it’s own. The cast was enthusiastic, charming, and extremely well rehearsed. Their performances had me lost in their characters. A special nod to the dedicated of this cast as some of the members were quite young. The website says this venue is closed until 2016 and I hope it won’t be late!

Amazing theater! So unique! Watching plays under the stars with fireplaces next to you… its just the best experience! The actors are able to do scenes from the woods surrounding you as well. This place is one of a kind!

Hamlet was great! The theater is lovely. Don’t miss it! The cast is wonderful and John Barrymore III gives a great performance. He has the depth, resolution and intensity necessary to play Hamlet. The theater is quite intimate and the set is most creative. Every actor in this play shines. There is some humor and sword fighting in the play. The theater is very easy to find. Make sure you see this version of Hamlet as I think I will never see one better!

DONOTGETMESTARTEDABOUTTHEFORESTTHEATER. 1. Outdoors with fireplaces that they light during shows. Perfect for a cozy evening under the stars. 2. You can bring your own food, and they still serve cheap concessions. 3. The staff is typically older ladies and gents, so of course they are going to be sweet. 4. They always have great shows! Bring a few blankets and layers. It can get cold and the seats are general admission wooden benches that can really hurt after a while. Come prepared. And I totally reccommend the hot cocoa.

Gorgeous open air theater under the trees. It can get a bit chilly, so bring a coat(or better yet, a blanket to snuggle your date under). PacRep puts on some great performances here as well.
