Grill Express

Honestly the burger looked great but after watching the cashier/​cook wait on several guests (who paid with cash) and then cook and touch (with NO gloves) every part of my burger (the bun, meat and cheese), I couldn’t bring myself to eat it. I witnessed it right before my eyes and if he will not wash his hands after touching cash, I’m sure he’s not washing them after going to the bathroom. That to me, especially being a nursing mom, is very dangerous. So, while the burger on surface looked excellent… I pretty much paid $ 11 for a meal that I trashed (with the exception of the drink). I’m not some germ freak, but what I witnessed was probably the most unsanitary situation I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m certain he violated several health codes.

Overpriced for not that great of a burger. The fries were okay. I have also tried their chicken tenders– they were dry and the meat was stringy. They just weren’t good. I really wanted to like this place because it’s so close to work but it’s a no-​go.

This is Americana pure and simple. Good burgers and fries and if that’s what your craving this place does it well.

I ordered a Philly cheesesteak my buddy ordered a half pound bacon burger. Portions were great and the food is very good. The environment was very clean and wasn’t very busy. There was a really good condiment bar.

Positive: Cashier was very friendly and gave me a stick of gum with my receipt.
Choice of fries a plus.
Negative: A ¹⁄₃ pound burger, thin cut fries and diet Coke combo was over-​priced at $ 8.97. The fries tasted slightly of refrigerator, and the hamburger itself was meh. I’ll go elsewhere next time.

Excellent burger and the choice of fries is a plus. I had the Sea Salt Cut fries and they were very good. Very friendly and polite staff and my meal was served quickly.

Now called BURGER EXPRESS (new ownership?).
Overpriced basic burger. Nothing fancy and nothing to write home about. The ambiance is lackluster. Restaurant was playing hip-​hop music. Likely health code violation noted (no hand soap in the bathroom).
Wont be going back. I paid $ 10 for a combo meal. You can do much better for your $ 10 than coming here.

Great charbroiled burgers you’d expect from a mom&pop. Great home style breakfast plays as well!

Solid 3.75 stars. The burger has a good char-​broiled taste. Bacon was crispy. Fries were perfect. Friendly crew. It’s better than a fast food joint, for sure and the price is the same. Oh yea, it’s not pre-​cooked. It’s made fresh and hot while you wait.

Good fries (they give you a lot), decent burger, nothing fancy but it’s a budget burger place so you get what you pay for. I felt the burger meat was lacking seasoning and flavor.

I was never sure about the name of this place: the sign outside says «Grill Charbroiled Express». Checking my receipts, the name is indicated as «Grill Express».
This is the de facto burger/​sandwich shop for the lunch-​going crowd at the Valwood/​Luna intersection. The staff here renders a passable burger-​and-​fries combo, plus they have breakfast wraps, sandwiches, and rice dishes on the menu for added variety. They occasionally offer California sushi rolls as well. Burgers do possess a mild but tasty charbroiled flavor and is sandwiched by basic white buns, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles and chopped onions. Mayo is the dressing of choice here, so make your request at the register if you desire otherwise. The lady at the register is always cheery and polite, very accommodating of changes.
Prices are affordable. They offer bottled drinks as well as fountain drinks. The dining room is functional – nothing fancy – but it beats eating lunch in a sweltering-​hot or freezing warehouse.
