Holiday Inn Express Carrollton

Room was dusty hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly in a while. Leaking roof from upstairs bathroom. Two consecutive nights. Gave me a certificate for a free night. I’d have to be insane to ever use that one. Breakfast was better left alone. Coffee passed. Staff apologetic but not capable to mitigate issues. No decision makers after dark.

This Holiday Inn lives up to their standards. It has everything you would expect… of course though, not all Holiday Inn’s are created equal.
My biggest gripe about this particular one is that there is no laundry machines. Normally it would cost $ 5 to wash and dry your own clothe if they had machines. This Holiday Inn only offer laundry service from a local laundry mat. They would charge around $ 25 – 30 to have all your clothe washed, dried, and folded (dropped and picked up at front desk). I like to save money, so that doesn’t make me happy.
Another thing is that they do not have free weights at this «Fitness Center». The fitness center is a joke. There are only four machines in the tiny room and two of them are broken (the bike and elliptical [as of 2011₁₂_​10]). The closest gym would cost you $ 7 per day and is a few minutes drive away. It’s pretty much there just so they can say they have one.
The breakfast is nice to the fact that it is included. I just wish the eggs weren’t pre-​made and delivered somewhere else and always had cheese in the middle. The sausage links don’t ever taste right and the hard boiled eggs don’t taste fresh either. The cereal is always a good alternative, same with the oatmeals… but it doesn’t always hit the spot. It’s definitely better than nothing though.
The TV is out dated. It’s an old CRT type. It doesn’t bother me though since I don’t watch it. The only appliance I use is the refrigerator (no freezer section) and microwave.
Wal-​mart, Lowes, Home Depot, Apple Bees, Ruby Tuesdays, etc… are just down the street too so if you ever need anything it’s only a short drive away.
Overall this Holiday Inn is just like any other Holiday Inn, except with no washing machine and insufficient fitness center.
