This is a quickie lunch spot that serves up a Mexican buffet for a reasonable price. If you don’t mind small dark restaurants this is the place. It’s just average Mex food: crispy tacos, rolled soft chicken tacos, tamales, rice, beans, guisados are some of the items you can select. The employees here are super friendly and very attentive. My iced tea never got close to empty. Although the food was nothing to rave about, the .99 margaritas are.

The service was quick and the food was cheap, but the queso was not my favorite and the food was mediocre. I would be willing to try again maybe we just ordered the wrong thing

Ambience is seriously lacking. This doesn’t feel like a place that belongs in the DFW area, but rather a place that belongs in the middle of nowhere. A fresh coat of paint and some sprucing up in new lighting would greatly improve Los Lupes. The chips were not good at all. A bag of Tostitos would’ve greatly improved the quality. The rest of the food was decent, not great. I had the ceviche lettuce wraps. The taste was pretty good although the ceviche came on top of two small, wilted pieces of lettuce. They were too thin and small to be used as a lettuce wrap, so I ate the ceviche part with a fork. I have never ordered lettuce wraps and had such crappy lettuce before. We also ordered the beef fajitas. The beef was very marginal. Nothing special or very tasty about it. Overall, I would not go back because of the vast amount of Mexican restaurants in the DFW area. There’s definitely better to choose from.

I have eaten at the Carrollton Los Lupes for at least 20 years. The food is good, the prices reasonable, and the menu consistent. They have a good selection of traditional Mexican dishes without the fancy prices and unnecessary luxuries. Their fajitas are tasty and one of the healthiest choices around. The atmosphere has become loud and chaotic recently, as with most DFW restaurants I have visited lately. There is one dish which is served that produces a lot of strong smelling smoke which is not to my liking.(I have to hold my nose to keep from gagging at the odor.) The Carrollton location used to be the one I visited the most, but the sonic bombardment I have endured during each recent visit is forcing me to restrict my visits to less than once per week. It’s a shame, but I’ve gotten the impression that many patrons of this place have become so offensive with their cell phones that it ruins the experience for those of us who show more restraint. This is not peculiar to Los Lupes, though. I saddens me to think that the general rudeness of restaurant goers will eventually prevent me from attending at all. I’ve been forced to reduce my rating for this reason. No offense to the Ramirez family who owns the chain!

Terrible experience! Restaurant had no a/c, chips were stale, tortilla soup had been microwaved so hot that it took 20 minutes for the steam to stop rising. When it finally cooled down enough to eat I found that the chicken tasted like rubber. After a few bites I asked for my check. With a full bowl of uneaten soup you would think that they would ask if something was wrong with it, instead they asked me if I wanted a to-go container. I will not be going back.

Solid choices of Mexican food. I had the Lengua Plate and my bf ordered the Burrito Plate. We also had a cup of queso to start with. Lengua plate is simple and full of flavor. It came with rice and refried beans which I think are steam cooked because of the color while the burrito plate came with two medium sized burrito(you get to choose what sauce you want it with) with rice and beans as well. Everything was good and would come back to try other items in the menu.

From a scale of 1 – 10, the cleanliness is a 1 as well as the food quality. I don’t know where this 4 out of 5 star rating came from, I would highly not recommend this restaurant.

Great wait staff, great service, great location, and great food. I have been coming to this location for over 15 years and it is quite possibly my favorite Mexican restaurant in north dallas/carrollton. Everything from the starter salsa and chips, to the queso fundido(flaming cheese with chorizo) appetizer with flour tortillas, to cheese enchilada plate, and the almighty Tacos al Carbon Plate! Mmmm, mmm GOOD! The prices are great, the atmosphere is wonderful, and all dishes I have tried have been super tasty. You can go casual or dressy, on a date with your spouse, or an outing with a group of friends. Los Lupes will not disappoint any friends or family from out of town either. I prefer this location way more than the addison one, due to it being a little more hidden and smaller. I enjoy that the tables are old, that the décor is still the same after all these years, and that it continues to be my go-to spot for delicious Mexican food. Here’s a tip for people trying the queso fundido for the first time… use your fork to twirl some of the cheese like spaghetti, then use your knife to hold the cheese down as you tear away with your fork. Put the gob of cheesy goodness on your flour tortilla, fold up, and eat one of the best foods ever! Enjoy!

We eat here fairly regularly for breakfast tacos. Our son is a huge fan of their pancakes, too! We have gotten a variety of tacos, but any and all seem to satisfy us. You cannot beat the price per taco PLUS you get chips and salsa in the morning. I know of no other restaurants that provide that before breakfast. That’s when you’re hungriest, ya’ll! If you have any special requests for your tacos, be especially careful as most of the servers do not(seem to) speak terrific English. One time I got a breakfast taco with only meat in it, not quite sure how that happened. Check it out!

Today everything was perfect. Normally the food is awesome and the service isn’t so great but today we had a great waitress to go with our tasty food so it made the experience perfect.

We have struggled to find good tex-mex in the DFW like back home. Los Lupes is the best we have found thus far. Breakfast tacos, but on corn are solid and I highly recommend the molcajete fajitas and the caldo de res and menudo because these are the only items we have tried. The corn is homemade. They are so good that I drive from the Valley Ranch area to come get them. Tia is in town, so only the best for my sister.

Everytime I’ve been to this place the service has been horrible. The last time was especially agregious. We walked in at 9:15(they were closing at 10) the waitress turned around and took a LONG look at the clock, sighed loudly and frowned at us. To double check that they closed at 10, I asked her, she replied«yeah yeah, it’s ok.» After ordering and receiving our meal, the person bussing tables tried to take our plates and glasses before we were finished — MORETHANONCE. THEN the waitress asked for payment so she could finish with the register and I had to ask to actually SEE the ticket first. Are you kidding me? We felt very unwelcome and will not be back.

Great Authentic Mexican food, if your expecting gringo«mexican» food, you probably should not eat here. If you’re Hispanic and know real Mexican food you will love it!

I have been coming here for 15 years. First off. Yes I have had better Tex/mex Mexican food. But value for your money Los Lupes stands out. I challenge almost anyone to go eat their(during the week) lunch buffet and say they did not get their moneys worth. Of course there are always the knuckleheads that expect endless filet mignon fajitas for 10 dollars but let’s stick with reality. Grand total with water. 7.04.

I went there twice. The first time was to try. The second time, I was embarrassed to tell my co-worker, who chose the place, that the restaurant is Meeh! The place is huge, the servers are nice but the food is not tasty. Simply, they cannot make the rice properly, so no wonder why the meat was also not tasty and hard to chew. Both times I went in lunch time. If they just serve cheap food during lunch or have a different cook, then this is something else. The restaurant is in a good location and the prices are good. Plus, they gave plenty of food so you’ll be full. To conclude with good stuff: They have good salsa and chips. They portion of food is above average and you’ll get plenty of food.

This Los Lupes location is not as good as the Grand Prairie location. The chips are coated with grease and the shrimp enchiladas are just so-so. My strawberry margarita was decent. I will forgo this location as it’s just not good.
