I would give 3.5 stars if I could. I was very thankful to be able to be seen for my injury on the day that I called, especially having just spoken to 3 other Ortho doctors who couldn’t see me for another 3 – 8 days. Every time I’m there I’m brought in precisely at the time of my appointment and never have to wait longer than 10 minutes to be seen by my doc or the PA.(However, sometimes I’ve felt rushed and spent less than 10 minutes in the exam room.) I do really appreciate that when I’ve had questions about my progress, the PA has either been available to spend time with me on the phone or returned my call within an hour. Conveniently, when I needed an MRI I could schedule one right next door. One big thing I did not like was that an x-ray was mandatory as soon as I got to the office — without prior consultation from any medical professional. While the process was quick and efficient, I have a real problem with being made to have it done in order to have an exam — and then having to pay for the unnecessary x-rays when no one had even talked to me about the nature or the cause of my injury. If I could have had a 5 minute conversation with a PA or doctor, I could have saved 96 bucks. I understand that sometimes you have to do it just in case, but assuming someone needs x-rays just because they sit in your office is a little pushy.

If you’re sporting a painful knee injury, you’re not going to be real inclined to tell anyone they’re doing a good job — but in the case of Metrocrest Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine — they were outstanding. 1.) They were able to get me an appointment the day I called. 2.) I was able to do my preregistration online. 3.) The office staff understood my insurance scenario. 4.) I didn’t wait 5 minutes for someone to come get me. 5.) Rich, my PA introduced himself, listened closely, understood what I was describing, and was very attentive and timely. 6.) Dr. Fagelman introduced himself, gave me an opportunity to describe what was hurting, and had a good understanding of what needed to be done to address the problem. 7.) The x-ray technician was very nice and professional. 8.) The nurse was very sweet and was concerned that I was comfortable. 9.) Rich performed a procedure and injection on my knee with a minimal amount of pain. 10.) Dr. Fagleman set my expectations, explained what I needed to do from a medication perspective, and personally called me to follow up with my lab results.

I have seen just about ever doctor in this practice and have had mixed feelings about my experiences here. Some of the drs are exceptional, kind, and take time to really get to know you and make sure you understand what is going on with your health. Others rush you in and out and treat you like a number. Some of the drs will barely ever be seen because they rely so heavily on their PAs. I have had exceptional care from Dr. Guess and Dr. Sethi. I have had good care from Dr. Goodhart, Dr. Fagelman, and Dr. Graehl. I have had mediocre and very rush care from Dr. Neagle… when I actually see him at all. Most of the time I am forced to see his PA, Tina and then if I’m lucky I will see him for about 1 min or less… but most of the time I never see him. Tina the PA is(in my opinion) talks down to you, and makes you feel like your questions and concerns are dumb. The facility is very clean and nice. There is a huge waiting room, which is a good thing, because I have never waited less than 30 minutes for my appointment and the waiting room is usually pretty full. There is an on site XRAY, MRI and PT center. All are nice. Most of the associated staff at the clinic are nice and helpful. Overall, this place is OK but really I’m seeking care elsewhere.

re: Dr. G I’ll just give my overall opinion, sans any negative experience… i’m thankful to have encountered a doctor with so many years of surgical experience. The nurses at Baylor Carrollton confirmed that he was one of the best Orthos, so I definitely felt assured that the outcome was going to be wonderful. Three weeks post surgery and i’m so thankful to be on the right track to normalcy. It only gets better from here!!!

We were referred to this business in Carrollton(which has recently opened doors in Flower Mound as well) where several doctors share the practice; our doctor was Keith Heier. He did a good job in healing a severe injury that my son had, & he seems quite knowledgeable about orthopedics. Good bedside manner. Unfortunately, everything else about this office pretty much sucks! If you like rude nurses, receptionists, & staff with a holier-than-thou attitude who enjoy speaking to their nicely insured, bill-paying patients as if we are pond scum, then this is the place to visit! The doctor was not worth the hassle it takes to deal with his incompetent staff. They do not communicate well with patients(encouraged my son to change out his cast each time he came in & never bothered mentioning that recasting costs over $ 200 a pop!), & are quite lax in returning calls to former patients. Show up on time & despite the sign in their waiting room that welcomes you to «notify [them] if your wait time exceeds 15 minutes» you can easily plan on waiting 45 – 60 minutes before you are taken back to a room. Another 20 minute wait & you might(might) see your doctor. Shop around… excellent doctors with wonderful staff can be found!
