It’s nice that Carson City still has some local hometown hardware stores. My son needed some assistance with his Eagle Scout project. Meeks was very helpful in providing some of the material needed. They even gave a substantial discount and free delivery.…not to mention technical assistance. The hometown feel definitely exceeds the delivery of service of the national box stores that seem more interested in dollars than community. It’s nice to have that old fashioned feel. Also, thanks J.R. for your assistance.

Though I don’t shop here that often; service and hard to find parts(plumbing/electrical); I’ve never had a bad experience. Folks here, do have a sense! A plus, plus in my book(which helps if you’re having a bad day)!!

Meek’s Lumber have supported to Western NV College over the past several years! JR and his staff have made quite the impression on myself and the students here. Meek’s is always reliable and the staff is extremely helpful! Thank you so much for your support to the construction industry! –Nigel

Today I was sent in to pick up 15 lbs of duplex nails for the construction company I work for. We have an account with them. Sounded simple enough. I’m not really aware of what these looked like or where they were located in the store. So I walked up to the big counter located in the middle of the store and that’s where I encountered John, the miserable customer service sales associate who apparently didn’t know what these duplex nails were as well. I asked for help and read off my list I was given, John let me know that he couldn’t help me if I had no idea what I was talking about, insisted I was talking about a electrical box, which i was not… and continued to argue with me to the point of escalation in front of everyone in the store. Sadly none of the other guys working in the store offered to help either and just walked away. I don’t think it’s ever appropriate for a «customer service professional«to speak to a customer in that manor… Period. I realize I was running for supplies, I’m fairly new at this, and I’m a woman… And maybe it was frustrating on his part that he didn’t realize what I needed exactly, but we could have figured it out together in a calm manor. I will never step foot in this establishment ever again, I hope our account is cancelled, and I hope John finds a new profession where he doesn’t have to work with the public. My advice to women out there… Skip this place and just go to Lowes or Home Depot, where they actually try to help you. Life is hard enough on a daily basis… No one needs to be yelled at while buying nails.

Great service with excellent quality of lumber. Went a picked up some dry wall for a job in gardnerville and picked up to much, was able to return the dry wall no problem. Will return, thanks for the excellent service.

I had a great experience ordering a storm door. The big box store failed but Meek’s customer service was right on. I definitely recommend them to everyone!

Well, I dunno what all the 1 star reviews here are all about, but we had a very productive visit with very helpful and polite workers. My BF needed some wood cut for his fencing at his house and we sure didn’t have much luck or real help at Lowe’s or Home Depot which was where we went first. Entering, I see this store is much smaller in the main store building than Home Depot or Lowe’s, but there are a lot of out buildings in back with all kinds of lumber stored there. Entering we ran into help right away, not like at Home Depot where no one was around. My BF explained his problem and the cuts he needed. This employee guided him to someone else who knew the answer right away. He didn’t think they could do what he wanted, but tried to think of alternatives and showed him other precut trims. The staff was very helpful and clear, but alas this store did not have the equipment to do what was needed with the wood. I give 5 stars because the service level and knowledge of the staff here was way above the Lowe’s or Home Depot. Even though a solution wasn’t found, the explanations made the situation more clear to my BF so he could think of alternatives to his fencing project. The explanations of cutting made him happy, so that makes me happy … now we can go get lunch!

Was quoted on the phone $ 249 for a pallet of wood stove pellets. When I got to the store the price was $ 274.50. When I asked about the difference, the woman at the desk said«that was me you talked to, I am dyslectic so screwed it up» then she laughed. I bought the pellets but probably won’t be going back to Meeks.
