The Spa by Mitchell’s

My wife and I went to the spa by Mitchell’s in Cary for a couples massage. The place was immaculate. The staff was very professional and helpful. I would recommend this spa to everyone.

I used to go regularly several years back for massages. I went about a month ago and received a really good french manicure. However, I noticed that there were duplicate charges for the manicure and I pointed this out.
I went a second time and the manicurist did not know what she was doing and she was asking quite a few personal questions and made me feel very uncomfortable.
They did not charge me full price, but I don’t think I should have been charged at all :-(
There is a dark haired lady at the front desk that is not pleasant or friendly. She actually wears a frown and doesn’t make eye contact when she is closing out at the end of your service.
The red haired lady was a lot more pleasant. However, I have marked them off of my list. I used to attend regularly years ago, but I have decided the customer service and the shady pricing is not worth the time or my hard earned money.

I planned a bridal shower spa day for my sister, and this is the place that she chose. The manager was very helpful, especially since I was doing all of the planning from Texas. The day of the shower they put out flowers, prepped our lunches and even helped me decorate. The spa atmosphere was very nice, everything seemed up to par and clean. Lunch was delicious!
So you’re probably wondering why the 2 stars. Well we had a few issues. There was a lot of shady upcharging. We had been quoted a package price and the manicurists and masseuses were offering extra services without mentioning additional charges. Some of the additional costs were as much as $ 60. Granted, most people are aware that additional services cost extra, in which case you should ask about specific pricing. The checkout process was a little hectic and no one saw itemized receipts. Later we were all discussing our charges and realized there were quite a few inconsistencies. The manager emailed me all of the itemized receipts and offered up an apology when I suggested they provide customers with a spa menu when offering additional services.
The charges that bothered me most were the extra $ 10 for the pregnant guest, because that masseuse is «required to have extra certification». Wow. Also, my sister cancelled her manicure ahead of time so that she could get acrylic nails before the spa day. She just wanted a pedicure, massage and lunch. Rather than ask, they just gave her the «deluxe pedicure» and charged her the same package price… and she was the bride to be! Also, one of our guests tried to tell her manicurist that she was using gel polish (which she didn’t want) and the lady insisted it wasn’t gel. Meanwhile she waited forever for it to dry and when it didn’t (because gel polish requires a special light) she had to start her manicure all over.
One last note, the music during the massage was awful and extremely loud. I was freezing and when I finally asked for an extra blanket, she said «Oh is my heated table not working again?» Then she asked if I would like her to avoid my hair/​scalp and when I said «yes» she responded «ok then you’re all done» and stopped the massage early. Wth?!
This place has some work to do with the staff. Should have read Unilocal reviews first!

Again, went to see Cyndi a few weeks ago. I am always getting compliments on my hair. She is still awesome after a year and a half. Highly recommend!!!

This review is for hair since I haven’t had other services. My hair looks amazing Thomas did high lights and low lights in my hair and after trying out other places I finally found someone to get my hair color right, since my hair color is complicated. Thomas is awesome and I will be returning regularly for sure! Maybe next time I will try a massage. :)

Had a haircut with Thomas– terrible job. Had to go to another salon to try and fix the damage he created. Spoke to Blaire/​owner and told him of the terrible haircut. Blair told me that I did not make the best choice in stylists!!! Well the damage was done and very upsetting. most of the good stylists have left and gone elsewhere!!! Stay away —and do not look back.

average at best. Came in and got a haircut, we cut some of it went back to shampoo it I didn’t even get a condition, then back in the chair she immediately started to try to put in product. I asked her to straighten up the back hairline and even out the right hand side which was way longer. I felt really rushed for sure. salons in downtown Raleigh take 25 to 30 minutes and are thorough this one I was out in 10.

Had an amazing deep tissue massage today with LISA. She used the perfect amount of pressure. I feel soooooo relaxed right now! I’ll be back to see her, and I highly recommend her for massage!
