So much better after the re-haul. The street is illuminated nicely and the bike lanes and pedestrian crossways are very clear. Makes it nice to be a walker, biker or driver downtown.

What the hell happened to this BLVD? =( Things have changed and it’s not getting any better… Some of the mom and pops restaurants have closed… The«Village» is the main spot to hang out to shop or eat… I’ve seen some graffiti on some building’s bad sign! There’s more teens lingering on the blvd., ain’t got nothing else to do but cause trouble! =( Also, where are the police at? Hello??? This is one of the richest area to go to compared to Hayward, San Leandro, and San Lorenzo…

Grimy! I have lived here in good old CV my whole life and the boulevard sucks even more than it use to. It all went down hill when I started driving and it got worse when the carry outee closed. Now its full of ugly shops vacant businesses and kids who loiter and stay out past curfew. Hoping the Blvd will improve once the renovation plans go into effect these next few years.

I cannot believe this is the first review for«the Boulevard» or Castro Valley in general! Well, I have lived here all of about 8 years and have found that unfortunately, the boulevard and Castro Valley itself seems to be declining in appeal to me. There is no real downtown except the Village which has mediocre retail stores and some okay restaurants. The boulevard could definitely use some fixing up with less vacancy and less crime. Also, crime seems to be on the rise in the past couple of years with more tweekers wandering around and more violence… too bad because Castro Valley was quaint when I first moved here!
