I enjoy going here to shoot pool. It’s low key to me and I enjoy playing the juke box. Never had an issue or problem here. everyone is polite. The bartenders are extra nice. Only thing negative I’d say are the drinks are pricey.

White trash freak show. I’ve been here several times and fights broke out each time. The drinks are nothing special. The girls are disgusting and the men are dogs. If you want an STD, I suggest mingling here.

Spankys is a wonderful place to get into a fight with 20 something year old males who haven’t spent enough time in jail. Douche Bag central full of skanky girls and drunken testosterone. Dont think the cops dont know it… They regularly will poach outside. Drunken children acting like monsters… I used to live up the street and walk here. Ive been on the recieving end of drama at bars twice in my 30+ years… Both times here. Drunk idiots trying to act tough for a skank working their infamous stripper pole. Maybe im too old or maybe im too wise but Spankys is at the bottom of the trashy bars.

Hi, I really try not to ever write anything negative about a business but after being treated the way I was last night 1÷27÷16 around 4pm, I had to let the owner and any future patrons know about my experience at Spanky’s in Castro Valley. I’m new to the area, moved here for work from Baltimore and I have never had a ruder bartender, even coming from the East Coast… Being new to the area, I’m looking for my go to place where I can frequent after work and hopefully make some new friends in the area. I pull up to the bar and there was vomit in the parking lot. I overlooked that and went in the bar with my coworker. We sit down and I look around and really appreciated the size of the bar and how clean it was. I immediately saw the stage and asked the bartender who had an attitude from the moment we sat down, «oh do you guys have live music here» or open mic comedy” since those are both things I loved back home, she gave me one word answers and nothing but attitude. I asked if there was happy hour, back home, that’s really popular around 4pm, and she responded again with attitude, «no». My friend asked for a cranberry and vodka, I’m a big fan of the moscow mules, and asked for one, and she said, «I don’t know what that is”“This is just a neighborhood bar» with again, attitude, First of all-that’s extremely offensive, I’m the most down to earth person you’ll ever meet and second of all-​even the dive bar, «Bucky’s in San Mateo knows what they are and makes them for me weekly» I then went and tried to tell her what they are since I know I’m not the only one who’s probably going to request this drink. it’s becomming a pretty popular drink. ginger beer, vodkas (titos) is best and lime. that’s it… she walked away… I then say, can I just have an ice water with lemon. because I wasn’t sure what I wanted yet… she says with attitude, $ 5…towards me, first of all, I didn’t order the drink, so why don’t you say that to my male friend who actually ordered a drink… then I ask her is this a cash bar only? she says with attitude again, you have to spend $ 10 to use a card, THAT SIGN IS NOT POSTED ANYWHERE WHERE YOU CAN SEE FROM WHERE WE WERE SITTING” I then, said, one second please because my friend didn’t have cash on him, I start looking through my purse to see if I have cash, and she goes with attitude again, I already rang it up, you need to pay. Fortunately, I had $ 5 on me and was able to pay for the drink and my friend left the little cash he did have on him for a tip. It’s such a shame in Castro Valley… my experience is that no one cares about service. I guess they feel like they have their regulars and that’s all that matters. and don’t care that they really lost business… Had I not been greeted with this attitude and just being rude, I’d be back tonight or the weekend, but I refuse to give my business to anyone that is just not nice… If you dont want to be there and work there, go do something else. Fortunately, we’re decent people and still left this woman a tip… who knows she’s prob upset that it’s a slow night and that I ordered a water, if she would have just cared and maybe learned how to make a new drink or suggest something else, I would have prob ordered 2 or 3 drinks that night. instead, we left after 15 minutes and won’t return. I just want the owner to be aware that this woman is turning away future business and while keeping locals is happy, don’t forget about new business…

They will not return your phone call when you call to verify a charge. My bill was $ 33 and some change, and I left a $ 6 tip. I got a pending charge of the correct bill amount on my credit card and then the final amount charged was $ 63.00!!! I called Spanky’s, the lady on the phone said she had no idea how to check but she left my name, phone number and the date I was there for the owner and told me he would call me back that night. I’ve waited over 2 days now and haven’t gotten a phone call back. I should have taken a copy of the receipt. I think the lack of response from them is unprofessional.
I’ll never go here again and my advice if you go here — pay cash.

This place is dingy and disgusting. I went there for their «taco Tuesday» and when I got there noticed there wasn’t a kitchen in sight. Can you say highly disgusting? Besides that I felt like I was going to get groped by one of the «regulars»
I’ll stick to my san Ramon/​dublin bars.

I love this bar, been many times, always had fun.

I’ve been here twice and had fun both times. Folks are friendly, drinks are cheap and karaōke night is bloody hilarious! Great local bar for me.

Please do not go to this bar my boyfriend got jumped in the front of the bar by its regular customers. I wish I could file a criminal case against them.
They really should close this bar it sucks.

with a cool DJ on Thursday night. buy one get one free for the ladies on their first drink and friday and saturday has a good D J as well

Came here again last night and I am giving them 5 stars. Last time I gave 4 because of the parking but I wasn’t aware you could park on the street. Great music and cheap drinks made for a great night! Check it out!

It is definitely a small dive bar, for sure.
No cover but they do scan your ID, I had a WA ID so he just looked at it.
My cousin said that they would turn off the lights at midnight but they never did. They have about 3 pool tables & the bar is plastered with TV’s.
The bathroom only has one stall & is suuuuuper small. Toward the end of the night someone had puked in the bathroom so the bathroom as inaccessible –_​–
The bartender didn’t know how to make a midori sour so we had to wait about 30 minutes while she figured it out.
The dress code is super casual, lots of people in jeans & J’s & hoodies.
The DJ sucked. Plain & simple. He played the worse songs & didn’t play any music that was requested. smh.
Would I go back here? I don’t think so. The DJ sucks.

When’s the county gonna closed this place down? Soon we hope, A**holes racing down the street at midnight on their motorcycles, loud A**wipes and skanks outside, and by the way BAKER ROAD’S NOT YOUR ASHTRAY!!!

Drinks aren’t super cheap, but cheap enough.
Bathroom (male) is dirty, but not like I didn’t expect it.
Drinks aren’t strong for the price.
$ 1 per game of pool (or $ 5 for 6) WTF?!
Also, take out the video games, you’d make more money with another pool table.

This place is pretty bad and I mean Bad. I took some pictures with few friend and some dude tried to snag my camera because he was in the background and did not want to be in the picture and tried to fight me. The atmosphere is dull and depressing. Bar is always filled with regular homeless people and young boys trying to start $H*T
pool tables and beer pong games, Stripper pole and out dated broken video games. Nothing to do here.

I went at 12 so even though it was a couple hours to closing there were still people coming in. Love love loved working that stripper pole (after three tequila shots of course lol) had fun. There’s pool tables, dance floor, and a good twerking music (mainstream/​rap) but DJ played every song we requested
Women’s bathroom only had one toilet so I can’t imagine what it’s like at happy hour

Screw Spanky’s. everyone thinks they are some thug tough guy that goes there. I find it funny, but not funny enough to go back. And all you fucks at Spanky’s, stay at Spanky’s and don’t spread your poison to other local bars. No one wants your business. Some people actually go to bars to kick back and have conversation and maybe shoot a game of pool. Not eveyone has some type of complex and want to fight the first dude that looks cross eyed at them. Pussies, stay at Spanky’s.

Spanky’s greets every patron by asking for id’s. the premiise is distinguished by signed dollar bills hanging from the ceiling. entertainment is 3 pool tables, video games, and the juke box.

I’ve only been here once for a friend’s birthday get together and I have to say it’s not bad for a divey Castro Valley bar! Drink prices are about right and they have two pool tables that you have to pay for I believe but where are they free to use anyways?! The other thing that sucks is the price for a beer pong table, it’s super tiny and not something I would want let me friends get again.
I heat there’s a DJ and that it gets really good on friday nights but it’s not really my scene, maybe next time a group of friends go I’ll tag along.

Uhhhggggggg. I can’t stand this place but have to admit they pour drinks well. The people who frequent here are not the type of people I like to be around. Douche-​tacular trash sprinkled with meth heads. Sad but true.
I only go here when my buddies think this is the only place to take a 21y/​o newbie. It’s far from true, there are much better dive bars only a short drive away.
