DoubleTree Golf Resort Palm Springs Area

The last time I stayed at this Property it was the Desert Princess, the photos looked good but I noticed the UnilocalS were mostly negative .
After staying here a year ago, I vowed never to come back. It was stuck in 1985! Old TVs No internet, shabby furniture !
Hilton sent an E Mail saying they opened a new Resort in the desert, I had 2 free Hilton Honors nights, so I booked it .
What a great renovation ! New stylish rooms, Free internet, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in rooms, Free water, great workout room, Café and Bar plus the best warm free cookies ever!
We never made it to the pool… just enjoyed the room !

We had a wonderful mini vacation here. Pulling into the parking lot, we inadvertently met the GM of the hotel, who who was very helpful in figuring out parking. When I walked into the sleek modern lobby, Haley at the front desk greeted us. She was super friendly and helpful, and she even upgraded me to a corner suite. The room was HUGE!!! 1000 square feet with a living room, 2 bathrooms, bedroom, and wrap around balcony with a spectacular view of the mountains and golf course. In the morning, had a great breakfast buffet, while our server, Oscar, kept our coffee fresh, and got us our made to order eggs. Checking out, Yessica courteous in helping me understand my bill. This hotel does a great job of keeping up with the standards of a Doubletree.

Beautiful facility. Every member of the staff went out of their way to be pleasant and to make sure we were happy. They upgraded us at no charge to a beautiful corner King suite overlooking the golf course. Room was spotless. Only complaint would be that the a/​c is very loud.

Stayed on a Saturday night between rounds of golf. Paid a pretty high price ($ 275) due to high season and a lacrosse tournament being in town. Booked a king bed, and they had me in a double queen. I said I’d prefer a king, they put me in an Honors floor room with a king bed.
Hotel is nice. I didn’t use the pool or gym, but both look well maintained. Rooms are good size, with balconies and a large flat screen.
I ate in the bar. Food was OK, but the bar area space is a little awkward. Staff was friendly and attentive.
This was a good experience. I’d stay here again.

Apparently this location has just completed or is completing a multi million dollar upgrade. Lobby and bar area looks great. Gym seems to be brand new but very visible as you walk from the lobby area which some clients may not like (maybe they plan to put up blinds?). Room was fine, what I would expect at a Doubletree, and the staff were friendly. I’d consider coming back here assuming the prices don’t get inflated.
Just looked at the old Unilocal site for this hotel and I have to say that there is a huge improvement in the look and feel of this hotel based on the old photos. Seems as if a few reviewers ended up staying during the construction period which is always a challenge.
