Awesome breakfast! We decided to give this place another try after being disappointed years ago. I ordered the Southwest Omelette, my regular breakfast at The Palms. I have to say it absolutely surpassed The Palms dish by at least 3 stars! Didn’t even miss my blueberry pancake because I got RAISINTOAST with my order!

Had a nice salad after the movie at Mary Pickford which is within walking distance. This was my first time at this location although I have eaten at the one in Palm Desert. At the time they were only open for breakfast & lunch but now are open for dinner. Looking forward to many more meals here.

This is a little slice of heaven. Wonderful wonderful food, service, music & location. I was in town for a wedding and arrived early and wanted a good hearty but healthy bkfast, I Unilocaled a few places and Sunshine café seemed to be best. Well believe it, the blueberry pancakes are so good you don’t even need the syrup! Well cooked and good food! Loved my waitress at the counter, she was awesome. I even went back for bkfast before my drive home. Met awesome customers as well! Highly recommend!

We always stop by this little place in Palm Springs area when we visit. Simple, but good and efficient. The chicken fried steak is crispy, even when covered by country sausage gravy. Definitely not low cal, but substantial and kept us going until dinner. Very friendly service. Mostly locals, it seems.

After being a resident of CC for nearly 3 years I finally made my first stop at Sunshine Café. Was not overly impressed. Arrived around 2PM and nearly every table still had not been bused from the lunch crowd. Had to call out to notify someone we were there since there wasn’t anyone in sight. Food was adequate, nothing to write home about. The place has an «old diner«smell, probably eminating from the carpet on the floor that looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in years. A carpet on the floor? A good place for dirt and germs. Tile would be better. The place could use an update. Popular place among the local LGBT community but I don’t understand why. Certainly doesn’t meet this queen’s standards.

Chicken fried steak and eggs here at Sunshine Café doesn’t get any better unless it’s homemade. And their homemade milk gravy isn’t quite up to mom’s but it’s a damn close second place. Thank God I’m only visiting PS, I’d be 10 pounds heavier in no time flat. I wouldn’t be able to stay away. I’ve been coming to PS for 45 years and can say you won’t find a better place for breakfast. Plus they treat you as if you’ve been coming here for years, like part of the family. I cherish these ma and pa diners and if you do as well this is the place for you. To good eats, bravo!

I’m from the Midwest so everywhere you turn there is a little mom and pop café. Breakfast in my opinion was decent. Service was decent. Just nothing to write home about. I’ve had way better home cooked food in the mid west. But living out here I can see why people would like it so much. It’s very small but they have a large menu. I got the banana nut pancakes and they were pretty good

I’d heard about the Sunshine Café on my last stay in Cathedral City. So, this time I decided to give it a try. I was blown away. The staff is friendly and the food is great. I went for dinner and had the daily special of chicken kabobs. Some of the best I’ve had. I finished it with apple pie a la mode and was impressed. Really delicious food. I went back for breakfast the next day. The only thing you should know is the wait might be long and the food takes a while to get to you but it’s fresh and worth waiting for.

Was getting my car serviced at Palm Springs Nissan and instead of waiting the hour or so in the Nissan waiting area, I decided to get some food within walking distance. Walked around the area, saw this place was pretty crowded on a weekday morning, and looked on Unilocal to see if they had a good rating, so ding ding ding, this place was a winner. The service was awesome. Wish I knew my server by name, so I could give her a shout out but I forgot it =(. I liked the atmosphere as well. It’s a cute and clean little diner and has a very homey feel to it. My only knock was that the food wasn’t really great. Trying to be healthy, so I ordered a veggie omelet with side of fruit. It was decent but nothing to write home about. I think I need to give this place another chance and order something fattening like the corned beef hash. It might make my review a little more favorable. One thing I did to give my dish a little ore of a kick, was ordered a side of salsa. My awesome server brought over a pico de gallo and salsa verde. Both salsa were yummy and salvaged my breakfast!

Obviously I like a range of food if you ever have read my posts. So it often won’t matter if its high end or down home — as long as its good. Sunshine is a regular goto for us when in Palm Springs. Its got the attitude I like in a no-frills kind of place; great menu options and now serves dinner. From super breakfasts to burgers to full out dinner combo’s this is homestyle dining. Located in the Cathedral City side of Palm Springs — this little café is tucked away across from Digs. Has on street parking as well as off street. My suggestion is not go if you are in a hurry — not because they are slow, rather they have a good crowd and turn tables quick –but they won’t rush you while you are eating. Great place to take a minute and eat, share and laugh. The egg dishes and pancakes are sure wins here.

I love this café and its location on the very edge of the gritty, industrial and civic center of Cathedral City, next door to the former city hall, now displaying fire engine murals on its doors. Friendly staff, Great burgers, fries, and breakfasts, such as the blueberry pancakes. My only complaint is it can be difficult to have a quick meal, because it is so popular, hence busy.

From the outside it doesn’t look like much, but it gave me the feeling it’s a good hole in the wall place. Let me tell you it definitely was!!! There is not that much parking by the way. The place does not have many tables, but the customer service is excellent. Everybody has a great attitude and smile. Food: The food was DELICIOUS and they give you huge portions. I got the trailblazer omelette with home fries, which was . Also, I got the biscuits and gravy for .95 cents more instead of toast, which was a great decision. I recommend getting the Biscuits and Gravy or the pancake instead of toast. Mimosas are 2 for $ 6. The juice in them tastes very fresh. Another plus is if you bring children they bring out board games for them.

I’ve been here twice. I’m going to be a regular. Is this the most fancy place? Nope. Is the menu full of trendy overpriced food? Nope. What I have found is: good service, with a smile. well-seasoned home cooking good specials eclectic mix of customers When I went for breakfast, I had scrambled eggs, beans, sausage and biscuits and gravy. All were tasty. I went the other night for dinner. I ordered the chicken kabob special. The soup of the day was a chorizo soup. It sounded intriguing. Slices of sausage in a deep red broth. There were plenty of vegetables. It was a little salty, but I added a squeeze of lemon and it totally came together. I would get that again, in a heart beat. The rice pilaf that was served with my kabobs was light and flavorful. The vegetables in the kabob were perfectly seasoned and cooked. I could have eaten just the veggies and been happy. The chunks of chicken were a little less wonderful. One piece was super tough. The other pieces were tender. The chicken needed just a smidge more seasoning. My big ass cup of iced tea is never empty. That alone wins them full stars. I am going to be there often.
