Started off in Healdsburg and headed down Westside road until it connected with River Road. It was a little foggy, so the drive through the forest was just a little spooky. GOTOJENNER! Don’t take Cazadero Hwy… I won that argument so we made it to CAHWY1. THIS is where things get weird and scary. Hwy makes a STEEP climb, like something out of a Hitchcock film, until you turn off on some grade road which makes a really really STEEP climb for several miles. Now you feel like your in an episode of LOST. Drive and drive though the woods, the road goes from crumbly asphalt to gravel, then pothole dirt. Cows and sheep on the road, not really a bother; at least you know somebody is up here somewhere. Just keep driving; every cell in your body may be telling you«go back!» — Keep going! You’re almost there; I even knocked on a wooden gate outside Jacob’s cabin, some guy peeked around a corner and said yeah the winery is just a couple of more miles! The road still gets worse… then it ends. You’re there! Hirsch Winery; it’s like Machu Pichu!
