Discount Tire Store – Cedar Falls, IA

Looking at all the reviews on Unilocal and Google, I was more than willing to give these guys a try, especially after looking at their prices. The wife and I went to their CF store on a Monday, mid-​morning, to get tires for her van. It was a little busy, but nothing crazy. We made eye contact with both of the gentlemen behind the counter and then walked around the showroom while they finished with the customers they were helping. One of the guys finished and disappeared into the back. I grabbed some free coffee and we waited near the front. The other guy finished and he disappeared into the back. We waited some more. A couple of mechanics came and went and still nothing from the guys who were behind the counter. I finished my coffee and checked my watch. Ten minutes since we had walked in the door and we had yet to be acknowledged by anyone. Then a customer came in the door and both of the guys who had been behind the counter came out and walked right past us to greet him. That was it for us. We headed out the door and went to Tandem. Ended up spending over six hundred dollars on tires (the same ones we had planned on getting from Discount at almost the same price) and were greeted as soon as we walked in the door.
We had heard so many good thing about these guys and we really wanted to give them our business, but they apparently didn’t need it. In a couple months, when I start shopping for tires for my truck, Discount Tire won’t be on my list.

Excellent customer service! They make a point to look at your tires with you as well as show you on a chart your tires condition, it was different than I’m used to but I really appreciate the information. I came in for a tire repair which they did FOR FREE!!! I will be back, you guys rock!

Friendly staff, however while evaluating a tire warning issue they stripped my lug nut & told me they couldn’t help and that I now should proceed to take car to a «mechanic» to have the damage they induced corrected… Very unpleasant experience and apparently not the shop to go to for assistance with tires
